Three-year field study on grass growth and soil hydrological properties in biochar-amended soil

field monitoring was conducted to investigate and quantify the long-term effects of peanut shell biochar on soil-grass interaction over three *** 10 m5 m grassed plots were constructed in completely decomposed granitic *** of them were amended,respectively,with 5%and 10%biochar contents(m3/m3)for grass growth,while the third was without biochar *** the threeyear monitoring,plant characteristics,saturated water permeability(ks)of grassed soil and soil suction were *** monitored results show that the grass leaf area index(LAI)and root length density(RLD)with biochar amendment were improved by 38%and 200%,*** the grassed plot without biochar,a threshold RLD existed with a value of 1.7 cm/cm3,beyond which ks raised *** threshold RLD increased by 52%when biochar content increased from 0%to 10%.This implies that biochar may restrict the increase in ks of grassed soil due to the rise in the threshold *** presence of biochar and grass can retain over 100%higher suction after heavy rainfalls,while 54%lower peak suction under evapotranspiration(ET)compared with the non-amended *** can alleviate the negative effects on hydraulic properties caused by plant growth and reduce ET-induced excessive water loss.A 5%peanut shell biochar content is recommended for the long-term management of vegetated earthen infrastructures.

Several ternary oxides CuCeZrO_(y)(CCZ)were synthesized by a facile grinding method followed by calcination at high temperatures,and used as catalysts for CO oxidation at low *** influences of calcination temperature(400-600℃)on the physicochemical properties of the assynthesized ternary oxides were investigated by thermogravimetric analysis/differential scanning calorimetry(TGA/DSC),X-ray diffraction(XRD),transmission electron microscopy(TEM),Raman,inductively coupled plasma-optical emission spectrometry(ICP-OES),N_(2) adsorption,H_(2)-temperature programmed reduction(H_(2)-TPR),and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS)*** results show that the increase in calcination temperature from 400 to 500℃is conducive to the high dispersion of CuOx on catalyst surface and the incorporation of Cu species into the support to form the Cu-Ce-Zr-O solid *** raising of calcination temperature from 500 to 600℃,however,leads to the segregation of Cu species from the solid solution to aggregate on support surface and growth of highly dispersed CuOx *** highest catalytic activity is acquired over the CCZ calcined at 500℃,which can be ascribed to the largest contents of Cu+species and oxygen vacancies owing to the formation of the maximum amount of Cu-Ce-Zr-O solid solution.

The cabin air pressure remains lower than the horizontal atmospheric pressure when the airplane is in *** pressure is one of the parameters that must be taken into consideration while studying the thermal environment of an airplane *** are still no reference values for aircraft cabins despite the fact that numerous studies on low pressure heat transfer have demonstrated the connection between convective heat transfer coefficient(CHTC)and air *** this paper,a correction method for CHTC under low pressure conditions was established by using the dummy heat dissipation in the low-pressure cabin *** this basis,a thermal environment simulation model was developed,then was applied to the simulation of a seven-row aircraft cabin containing 42 passengers,and the CHTC and heat loss of dummy surface in the cabin were ***,the results of PMV calculated by using heat dissipation and air parameters at sampling points were *** results show that the modified CHTC can accurately reflect the cabin thermal environment under low pressure conditions,and the correction of CHTC can be realized by adjusting the turbulent Prandtl number,which is nonlinear correlated with the *** simulation results of the thermal environment in the seven-row cabin show that the CHTC changes by about 42%before and after *** air pressure decreases during take-off,which reduces the average CHTC of the crew surface from 5.09 W/(m^(2)·K)to 4.56 W/(m^(2)·K),but the air temperature rises by about 0.2°C as a *** deviation of PMV results calculated by using simulated heat loss data and using air parameters of measuring points in space is up to 0.5,but the latter is representative for calculating the thermal comfort level of the whole cabin.

Spin-engineering with electrocatalysts have been exploited to suppress the“shuttle effect”in Li–S *** selec-tion,spin-dependent electron mobility and spin potentials in activation barriers can be optimized as quantum spin exchange interactions lead-ing to a significant reduction of the electronic repulsions in the orbitals of ***,we anchor the MgPc molecules on fluorinated carbon nanotubes(MgPc@fCNT),which exhibits the single active Mg sites with axial *** to the density functional theory calculations,the electronic spin polarization in MgPc@fCNT not only increases the adsorption energy toward LiPSs intermediates but also facilitates the tunneling process of electron in Li–S *** a result,the MgPc@fCNT provides an initial capacity of 6.1 mAh cm^(-2) even when the high sulfur loading is 4.5 mg cm^(-2),and still maintains 5.1 mAh cm^(-2) after 100 *** work provides a new perspective to extend the main group single-atom catalysts enabling high-performance Li–S batteries.

In this work,we proposed a novel Cu/θdual nanoparticles strategy to tailor the austenite characteris-tics of a medium Mn steel via a tempering-annealing process to optimize the mechanical *** explored the effects of Cu-rich particles and cementite precipitated in the tempering process on the austenite reversion during the subsequent annealing *** experiments and numerical simula-tions verified that the austenite inherited from cementite had a finer size and a higher Mn enrichment compared with the austenite originating from the tempered martensite *** addition,quantitative evaluations revealed that the pinning effect exerted by the Cu-rich particles could significantly hinder theα/γinterface migration and the recrystallized grain growth,thereby further refining the final *** contributions from the effects of dual nanoprecipitates on the austenite reversion,the heterogeneous austenite grains inherited from varying nucleation sites ensured the sustained and gradual deformation-induced martensite and twinning ***,the Cu-added steels subjected to a tempering-annealing process achieved synergetic enhancement of the tensile strength from 1055 MPa to 1250 MPa and elongation from 33%to 45%.This strategy may provide new guidance for the development and alloy design of high-performance medium Mn steels.

The two-stage electrostatic precipitator is widely used to purify oil mist ***,there is limited research on the influences of relative humidity,particle deposition characteristics,and the generation of gaseous ***,this paper established a numerical model of the electrostatic oil mist purifier and applied it to a two-stage electrostatic *** the model was used to investigate the corona discharge characteristics under different relative humidity conditions in the charged zone,the particle deposition characteristics,the purification efficiency,the ozone concentration distribution,and the oil vapor concentration distribution in the collection *** results indicate that,with a constant temperature,the corona current decreases as relative humidity increase,and there is a quadratic relationship between relative humidity and *** variation in relative humidity has little impact on the purification *** maximum ozone concentration occurs near the electrode line,and its concentration is influenced by the discharge current and inlet airflow *** oil vapor concentration reaches its maximum value at the side plates,with a value of 19 ppb,while it reaches the minimum value at the collecting zone electrode plate,with a value of 2 *** temperature is the main factor affecting the volatilization of the oil film,with higher temperatures resulting in higher oil vapor.
