The effect of spatial temperature gradient on the microstructural evolution of a 308L stainless steel during the directed energy deposition(deD)process was experimentally investigated.A novel cooling system was designed and incorporated to a deD system in order to control the temperature gradient along the deposition direction during *** deposition,the workpiece was placed on a lifting platform,and as the deposition process proceeded,the platform and workpiece were gradually lowered into cooling water so that the temperature gradient along the deposition direction could be controlled and maintained stable during the deposition *** microstructure characterization results indicated that a deposition strategy with higher G and G/R values(where G is temperature gradient and R is solidification rate)produced finer cellular grains that were better aligned with the deposition direction,while a deposition strategy with lower G and G/R values produced columnar grains with larger primary arm spacing and less aligned with the deposition direction.

Zn-Li alloys are considered promising candidate materials for biodegradable orthopedic implant applications due to their high mechanical performance and good ***,the presence of a large number of second-phase particles in this class of Zn alloys can lead to severe localized degradation due to micro-galvanic corrosion,which is detrimental to the mechanical integrity of the alloys during tissue healing in the human *** this study we report ultrahigh strength,uniform corrosion,good cytocompatibility,and effective antibacterial ability in Zn-x Li（x=0.3,0.5,0.7;wt%） alloys achieved through supersaturated solid solution treatment （SSST） at 375℃ under ultrahigh pressure of 3 GPa.A high concentration of β-LiZn4phases coexisted with the-Zn matrix in the as-cast Zn-x Li alloys,whereas almost all the Li dissolved into the-Zn matrix of SSST *** yield strength was 437 MPa for SSST Zn-0.3Li,592 MPa for SSST Zn-0.5 Li and 686 MPa for SSST *** SSST Zn-Li alloys showed uniform degradation with remarkably reduced degradation rates compared to their as-cast *** 25% concentration extracts of the Zn-x Li alloys demonstrated no cytotoxicity toward MC3T3-E1 cells,and the alloys exhibited effective antibacterial ability agains methicillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus.

To achieve efficient structural design,it is crucial to reduce the cost of materials while ensuring structural *** study proposes an optimization method for design parameters(DPs)in a prestressed steel structure driven by multi-factor *** accomplish this,a numerical proxy model of prestressed steel structures is established with integration of DPs and mechanical parameters(MPs).A data association-parameter analysis-optimization selection system is established.A correlation between DPs and MPs is established using a back propagation(BP)neural *** correlation provides samples for parameter analysis and optimization *** are used to characterize the safety of the *** on the safety grade analysis,the key DPs that affect the mechanical properties of the structure are obtained.A mapping function is created to match the MPs and the key *** optimal structural DPs are obtained by setting structural materials as the optimization objective and safety energy as the constraint *** theoretical model is applied to an 80-m-span gymnasium and verified with a scale test physical *** MPs obtained using the proposed method are in good agreement with the experimental *** with the traditional design method,the design cycle can be shortened by more than 90%.Driven by the optimal selection method,a saving of more than 20% can be achieved through reduction of structural material ***,the cross-sectional dimensions of radial cables have a substantial influence on vertical *** initial tension and cross-sectional size of the upper radial cable exhibit the most pronounced impact on the stress distribution in that *** initial tension and cross-sectional size of the lower radial cable hold the greatest sway over the stress distribution in that cable.

In this paper, we consider a susceptible-infective-susceptible(SIS) reaction-diffusion epidemic model with spontaneous infection and logistic source in a periodically evolving domain. Using the iterative technique,the uniform boundedness of solution is established. In addition, the spatial-temporal risk index R0(ρ) depending on the domain evolution rate ρ(t) as well as its analytical properties are discussed. The monotonicity of R0(ρ)with respect to the diffusion coefficients of the infected dI, the spontaneous infection rate η(ρ(t)y) and interval length L is investigated under appropriate conditions. Further, the existence and asymptotic behavior of periodic endemic equilibria are explored by upper and lower solution method. Finally, some numerical simulations are presented to illustrate our analytical results. Our results provide valuable information for disease control and prevention.

Non-centrosymmetric(NCS)structure is an indispensable prerequisite for second-order nonlinear optical(NLO)***,the mainstream approach for designing new NCS structures still relies on chemical substitution,necessitating an urgent infusion of fresh *** this work,two isomorphic sulfides AeMn_(6)Ga_(6)S_(16)(Ae=Ca,1;Sr,2)are afforded by modifying the skeleton of centrosymmetric(CS)Mn_(2)Ga_(2)S_(5) via introducing strong electropositive alkaline-earth ***,the incorporation of Ca^(2+)/Sr^(2+)cations allows the elementary[MnGaS_(9)]_(∞)chains to reconfigure into bumpy[MnS_(6)]-[GaS_(4)]layers in a new engagement manner,thus enabling the conversion from CS to NCS *** modifications cause not only strong second-harmonic generation(SHG)responses(~1.5×benchmark AgGaS_(2)@1,700 nm),but also significantly feasible bandgaps(2.60-2.64 e V)compared to the sulfide Mn_(2)Ga_(2)S_(5)(1.36 e V),which ultimately facilitate ultrahigh laser-induced damage thresholds(4.4-6.6×AgGaS_(2)@1,064 nm for compounds 1 and 2).The present study offers an ingenious approach for the transformation of CS to NCS structure.

Efficient utilization of sinter return fine is an important measure to reduce cost,increase efficiency,save energy and reduce emission.A new path of green and efficient utilization of return fine was proposed to produce composite *** metallurgical properties of composite pellets under the condition of hydrogen-rich blast furnace were *** experimental results indicate that the coated concentrate was consolidated for the composite pellets through normal Fe_(2)O_(3) *** the surface of core return fine,the liquid phase formed due to its low-melting point,assimilated the adjacent concentrate,and then consolidated with the temperature *** with regular pellets,the com-pressive strength and reduction swelling index of composite pellets were decreased,but the reducibility index and softening-melting properties were *** addition,the reduction degradation index of composite pellets was sig-nificantly higher than that of ***,adding composite pellets was conducive to indirect reduction in blast furnace,reducing fuel ratio and improving production *** to the effect of the roasting system on the metallurgical properties,the roasting temperature and time were determined as 1250℃and 30 min,*** composite pellets can be produced under the traditional pelletizing process.

In this work,the underlying mechanism responsible for the near-linear elastic deformation behavior of a dual-phase Ti-Nb alloy consisting of β and α'' phase with large recoverable strain was systematically *** on in situ synchrotron X-ray diffraction(SXRD)analyses,it was found that besides intrinsic elastic deformation,a slight reversible β-α'' stress-induced martensitic(SIM)transformation,which proceeded in a consecutive mode under the retarding effect of micro-defects,took place during the near-linear elastic *** unloading,a small amount of residual macroscopic strain remained in the specimen due to the incomplete reverse α''→β transformation on *** high near-linear elastic deformability of the cold drawing(CD)Ti-Nb alloy has been revealed to be attributed to the coupling actions of intrinsic elasticity as well as the consecutive and reversible β-α'' SIM *** research may contribute to a new avenue for the design and development of novel dual-phase Ti-based alloys with desirable elastic deformability.

The present study aims to examine the suitability of two commonly used assumptions that simplify modelling metoceanconditions for designing offshore wind turbines in the South China Sea (SCS). The first assumption assumes thatjoint N-year extreme wind and wave events can be independently estimated and subsequently combined. The secondone assumes peak wind and waves can be modelled as occurring simultaneously during a tropical cyclone (TC) *** better understand the potential TC activity, a set of 10000 years synthetic TC events are generated. The wind fieldmodel and the Mike 21 spectral wave model are employed to model the TC-induced hazards. Subsequently, theeffect of the assumptions is evaluated by analyzing the peak structural response of both monopile and semisubmersibleoffshore wind turbines during TC events. The results demonstrate that the examined assumptions are generally *** assessing the implications of these assumptions, valuable insights are obtained, which can inform andimprove the modelling of TC-induced hazards in the SCS region.
