Metagenomics reveals the microbial community and functional metabolism variation in the partial nitritation-anammox process:From collapse to recovery

Mainstream partial nitritation-anammox(PNA)process easily suffers from performance instability and even reactor collapse in application.Thus,it is of great significance to unveil the characteristic of performance recovery,understand the intrinsic mechanism and then propose operational strategy.In this study,we combined long-term reactor operation,batch tests,and metagenomics to reveal the succession of microbial community and functional metabolism variation from system collapse to recovery.Proper aeration control(0.10-0.25mg O_(2)/L)was critical for performance recovery.It was also found that Candidatus Brocadia became the dominant flora and its abundance increased from 3.5%to 11.0%.Significant enhancements in carbon metabolism and phospholipid biosynthesis were observed during system recovery,and the genes abundance related to signal transduction was dramatically increased.The up-regulation of sdh and suc genes showed the processes of succinate dehydrogenation and succinyl-CoA synthesis might stimulate the production of amino acids and the synthesis of proteins,thereby possibly improving the activity and abundance of AnAOB,which was conducive to the performance recovery.Moreover,the increase in abundance of hzs and hdh genes suggested the enhancement of the anammox process.Changes in the abundance of key genes involved in nitrogen metabolism indicated that nitrogen removal pathway was more diverse after system recovery.The achievement of performance recovery was driven by anammox,nitrification and denitrification coupled with dissimilatory nitrate reduction to ammonium.These results provide deeper insights into the recovery mechanism of PNA system and also provide a potential regulation strategy for the stable operation of the mainstream PNA process.

Left lower lobe sleeve resection for the clear cell variant of pulmonary mucoepidermoid carcinoma:A case report

BACKGROUND Pulmonary mucoepidermoid carcinoma(PMEC)is a rare malignancy that arises from minor salivary glands within the tracheobronchial tree.The clear cell variant of PMEC is exceptionally uncommon and presents notable diagnostic challenges,primarily attributable to its morphological similarity to other tumors containing clear cells.CASE SUMMARY A 22-year-old male,formerly in good health,came in with a two-month duration of persistent cough and production of sputum.Subsequent imaging and bronchoscopy examinations revealed a 2 cm tumor in the distal left main bronchus,which resulted in complete atelectasis of the left lung.Further assessment via positron emission tomography/computed tomography scans and endoscopic biopsy confirmed the primary malignant nature of the tumor,charac-terized by clear cell morphology in most of the tumor cells.The patient underwent a left lower lobe sleeve resection accompanied by systematic mediastinal lymph node dissection.Molecular pathology analysis subsequently revealed a CRTC3-MAML2 gene fusion,leading to a definitive pathological diagnosis of the clear cell variant of PMEC,staged as T2N0M0.After surgery,the patient experienced a smooth recovery and exhibited no signs of recurrence during the one-and-a-half-year follow-up period.CONCLUSION This article describes an unusual case of a clear cell variant of PMEC characterized by the presence of a CRTC3-MAML2 gene fusion in a 22-year-old male.The patient underwent successful left lower lobe sleeve resection.This case underscores the distinctive challenges associated with diagnosing and treating this uncommon malignancy,underscoring the importance of precise diagnosis and personalized treatment strategies.

Great progress has been made in the electrochromic(EC)technology with potential applications in various fields.As one of the most promising EC materials,Prussian blue(PB)has attracted great attention due to its excellent EC performance,such as low cost,easy synthesis,rich color states,chemical stability,suitable redox potential,and fast color-switching kinetics.This review summarizes the recent progress in PB electrodes and devices,including several typical preparation techniques of PB electrodes,as well as the recent key strategies for enhancing EC performance of PB electrodes.Specifically,PB-based electrochromic devices(ECDs)have been widely used in various fields,such as smart windows,electrochromic energy storage devices(EESDs),wearable electronics,smart displays,military camouflage,and other fields.Several opportunities and obstacles are suggested for advancing the development of PB-based ECDs.This comprehensive review is expected to offer valuable insights for the design and fabrication of sophisticated PBbased ECDs,enabling their practical integration into realworld applications.

Ferroptosis is defined as an iron-dependent form of regulated cell death that is initiated by the toxic accumulation of lipid peroxides on cellular membranes.In the past decade,ferroptosis has aroused considerable interest in comprehensive treatment of colorectal cancer,mainly as it is a specific cell death mode that is mechanistically and morphologically differ from other forms of cell death such as autophagy,apoptosis,and pyroptosis,following by holding a giant potential for the therapy of colorectal cancer.Research has found that various active ingredients in traditional Chinese medicine possess the ability of inducing ferroptosis in colorectal cancer cells through pathways such as lipid metabolism,iron metabolism,or cysteine/glutamate transporter system,which demonstrating enormous clinical therapeutic potential.In this review,the metabolic regulatory network of ferroptosis is introduced from the perspective of ferroptosis mechanism,and the information on the induction of ferroptosis in colorectal cancer cells by active ingredients of traditional Chinese medicine is also be retrospected,which the purpose is to provide novel strategies for the anti-colorectal cancer therapy of active ingredients in traditional Chinese medicine.

移动机器人在复杂环境下沿Dijkstra算法规划的路径运动时,由于所规划的路径存在转折点多、部分转折角度小等问题,导致移动机器人不得不频繁转向,甚至要暂停才能完成转向,严重影响机器人的工作效率。利用几何拓扑学方法,结合实际场景信息,提出一种基于Dijkstra算法的平滑路径规划方法。根据应用场景获取连续化地图,将连续化地图离散化后随机生成离散点阵,计算各点之间的欧氏距离,选取与各离散点距离较近、且连线不跨越障碍的多个点,将其连接并生成离散图。在离散图中利用Dijkstra算法搜索最优路径作为引导路径。当移动机器人沿引导路径运动时,结合实际场景信息,采用几何拓扑学计算出移动机器人每一时刻应该采取的最佳动作和运行路线。实验结果表明:所提方法能够有效减少移动机器人运动中的累计转弯角度,增大最小平均转折角度,提高所规划路径的平滑度,从而缩短移动机器人的运动时间,提升机器人的工作效率。

Study on the Adsorption of Preservatives by Eyeliner Pen Packaging Materials

In order to study adsorption of preservatives by eyeliner pen package,the chemical compositions of the commercially available Eyeliner package were analyzed by infrared spectrometer.It was found that these package components were PP,PET,modified PP,modified PET,ABS,nylon,PU and so on.The adsorption effects of these components on three preservatives,i.***.phenoxyethanol,Methyl paraben and Propyl paraben have been further studied by high performance liquid chromatography.The results demonstrated that the four chemical materials PET,PP,modified PP and ABS had no adsorption on the above three preservatives.However,the component named of water diversion core which was composed of modified PET,and nylon-made cotton head have been observed of slight adsorption in this study.And components as the function of preventing liquid leakage,which was made of PU,have presented the most serious adsorption on these three preservatives,with the adsorption order as Propyl Paraben>Methyl Paraben>phenoxyethanol.

Liliangyou 3822 is a novel indica hybrid rice variety that exhibits disease resistance,high yield,lodging resistance,and late maturity.It employs a self-selected two-line sterile line,Li 38S,and a self-selected restorer line,R22.This variety was subjected to a regional test of indica late-maturing groups in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River in 2020.The results demonstrated that the average yield of the variety was 9.95 t/hm 2,which was 10.67%higher than that of the control Fengliangyou 4,indicating a highly significant yield increase.In the continuous test in 2021,the average yield was 9.74 t/hm 2,representing a 6.52%increase over the control,which also exhibited a significant increase.Finally,the average yield of the two years regional test was 9.84 t/hm 2,which was 8.58%higher than that of the control.In the 2021 production test,the average yield of the variety was 9.32 t/hm 2,which was 12.19%higher than that of the control,indicating a remarkably significant yield increase.In 2022,the variety was validated by the National Crop Variety Approval Committee(GSD 20220143).

OBJECTIVE:To study the effect and underlying mechanisms of Chinese medicine Yanghe decoction(阳和汤)on pain relief in a rat model of bone metastasis of breast cancer induced by michigan cancer foundation-7(MCF-7).METHODS:Bone pain was induced in the tibia of rats injected with MCF-7 cells.The Chinese herbal remedy was used to decoct Yanghe decoction for the treatment of bone pain rats.The behavior study was carried out to evaluate the paw mechanical withdraw threshold and thermal withdraw latency.Liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry,Western blotting,quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction,enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA),immunohistochemical(IHC)staining were performed for analysis.RESULTS:Yanghe decoction could improve the defensive behavior similar to the transient receptor potential ankyrin 1(TRPA1)inhibitor.In morphology study,Yanghe decoction could attenuate the cellular growth as well as inflammatory infiltration in the metastasis group.Furthermore,Yanghe decoction downregulated the TRPA1 expression on the dorsal root ganglion from the metastatic rats at both transcriptional and protein level.Yanghe decoction alleviated the inflammation in metastatic tissues by hematoxylin-eosin and IHC analysis,and Yanghe decoction also reduced the inflammatory cytokines production in the serum including tumor necrosis factor-αand interleukin-6,interleukin-1 beta by ELISA.As the cytochromec oxidase subunit II/prostaglandin E2(PGE2)is required for cancer development,Yanghe decoction reduced the expression of PGE2 in the tissue and serum.CONCLUSION:Taken together,Yanghe decoction protected the rats from breast cancer bone metastasis through TRPA1 signaling mediated neuropathic pain and additional immune modulation in tumor microenvironment.

与普通城市相比,超大城市公共安全风险高,灾害事故成因复杂,源头防控工作难,基层保障能力薄弱。一旦出现重大突发危机,城市社区作为危机应对的“最后一道防线”至关重要。而且,社区作为超大城市应急管理的基本单元,处在突发危机应对和防灾救灾的前沿阵地,是筑牢基础,抵御各类危机危害的“最先一公里”。本研究对韧性治理框架下的社区韧性特征分析,从社区治理体系的适应性提升,治理功能的重构以及应急管理模式的转换等三个方面,描述社区应对重大突发危机的韧性,构建社区应对重大突发危机的结构韧性、功能韧性和行动韧性等能力,并提出韧性治理的主要策略,包括加强主体协同,强化社会动员;促进资源整合,建立韧性网络,增强基层社区的自我组织、自我服务、自我调适、自我恢复的能力。通过完善韧性治理体系,提升社区韧性能力,将危机减缓做到前端,落在基层,防范各类重大安全风险,实现超大城市社区应对重大突发危机的韧性治理。
