One out of three hospitalizations for acute coronary syndrome(ACs)involve nowadays elderly patients,carrying together a significant burden of comorbidities and a higher risk of *** particular,both ischemic and haemorrhagic risk are markedly enhanced in advanced age,and strictly interconnected,challenging the management of dual antiplatelet therapy(DAPT)in these *** recent development of several therapeutic options in terms of duration and combination of antiplatelet agents have offered a wider spectrum of opportunities for a more individualized approach in the management of DAPT after an ACs,although the criteria for the selection of the most appropriate strategy in each patient still lack *** particular,dose-adjustment,early aspirin discontinuation,laboratory-driven tailoring and shorter or extended DAPT have been addressed with promising safety and efficacy *** present review provides an updated overview on the emerging evidencefrom randomized clinical trials and subanalyses dedicated to the management of DAPT in elderly patients presenting with ACs.

To sustain the transition to a greener economy and greener manufacturing,it is necessary to develop new approaches and technologies to repair metal components;this will result in a drastic reduction in energy and material *** this study,wire arc additive manufacturing(WAAM)was used to deposit a layer of new material on an existing surface,with the objective of finding the optimal configuration that maximized the layer quality and material *** parameters considered are the stepover among the deposited beads and the inclination of the torch with respect to the repaired *** inclination angle is crucial when repairing complex surfaces,like those of a mold,owing to accessibility issues,the torch cannot be maintained orthogonal to the surfaces along the entire *** configurations were tested in order to assess the quality of the materials in terms of the presence of material voids,depth of penetration,and the heat affected zone(HAZ)and to understand the effects of these variables on the material efficiency and thickness of the repairing *** should be noted that by adopting deposition parameters set to have a low heat input,the use of a tilting angle has beneficial effects on the quality of the deposited layer and the process *** and geometrical measurements were carried out to assess the effect of these two variables depositing a layer of plain carbon steel.

Agar-Carbomer（branched poly（acrylic acid）） hydrogel,an injectable bio-resorbable scaffold with a controlled nanostructure specifically designed for neural cell housing,was developed together with a new protocol for building three dimensional biohybrid cell/hydrogel *** order to overcome classic structural analysis inconveniences due to the high water amount,which affects instruments results and reliability,agar-Carbomer hydrogels were synthesized by microwave-assisted block copolymerization together with La3＋ *** glycol,glycerol and buffered saline solution were used as cross-linking agents and solvent,*** properties were not affected by the presence of lanthanum,and were checked via swelling and rheological ***,the presence of La3＋ within the polymeric network was characterized by thermogravimetric analysis,environmental scanning electron microscopy and Fourier transformed infrared *** results showed that the rare earth presented uniform distribution in the hydrogel network due to the formation of chemical bonds after polymerization without being modified its luminescence emission spectrum that allowed hydrogel *** results made the obtained host-guest system a useful tool for analytical research studies concerning regenerative medical applications that could also be potentially taken up with in vivo experiments.

AIM: Gallbladder and gastrointestinal motility defects exist in gallstones patients and to a lesser extent in pigment gallstone patients. To investigated the role of gallbladder and gastrointestinal motility disorders in pigment gallstoneformation in β-thalassemia ***: Twenty-three patients with β-thalassemia major (16 females; age range 18-37 years) and 70 controls (47 females, age range 18-40 years) were studied for gallbladder and gastric emptying (functional ultrasonography),orocecal transit (OCTT, H2-breath test), autonomic dysfunction (sweat-spot, cardiorespiratory reflex tests),bowel habits, gastrointestinal symptoms and quality of life (all with questionnaires). Gallbladder content (ultrasonography) was examined before and during 8-12 mo ***: Gallstones and/or biliary sludge were found in 13 (56%) patients. β-thalassemia major patients had increased fasting (38.04-4.8 mL vs 20.3±0.7 mL, P= 0.0001) and residual (7.94-1.3 mL vs 5.1±0.3 mL, P= 0.002) volumeb and slightly slower emptying (24.94±2.7 min vs20.2±0.7 min,P = 0.04) of the gallbladder, together with longer OCTT(232.24±7.8 rain vs99.7±2.3 rain, P= 0.00003) than *** differences in gastric emptying and bowel habits were found. Also, patients had higher dyspepsia (score: 6.74-1.2vs 4.94-0.2, P = 0.027), greater appetite (P = 0.000004) and lower health perception (P = 0.00002) than *** dysfunction was diagnosed in 52% of patients (positive tests: 76.2% and 66.7% for parasympathetic and sympathetic involvement, respectively). Patients developing sludge during follow-up (38%, 2 with prior stones) had increased fasting and residual gallbladder ***: Adult β-thalassemia major patients have gallbladder dysmotility associated with delayed small intestinal transit and autonomic dysfunction. These abnormalities apparently contribute together with haemolytic hyperbilirubinemia to the pathogenesis of pigment gallstones/sludge in β-thalassemia major.

In this paper we focus on the target capturing problem for a swarm of agents modelled as double integrators in any finite space *** agent knows the relative position of the target and has only an estimation of its velocity and *** that the estimation errors are bounded by some known values,it is possible to design a control law that ensures that agents enter a user-defined ellipsoidal ring around the moving *** know the relative position of the other members whose distance is smaller than a common detection ***,in the case of no uncertainty about target data and homogeneous agents,we show how the swarm can reach a static configuration around the moving *** simulations are reported to show the effectiveness of the proposed strategy.

Rehabilitation is the most effective way to reduce motor impairments in post-stroke *** process demands several hours with a specialized *** resources and personnel shortages,the literature reports a high interest in robotic assisted rehabilitation ***,cable-driven robotic architectures are attracting significant research interest for post-stroke ***,the existing cable-driven robots are mostly unilateral devices allowing the rehabilitation only of the most affected *** leaves unaddressed the rehabilitation of bimanual activities,which are predominant within the common Activities of Daily Living(ADL).Thus,this paper presents a specific novel design to achieve bimanual rehabilitation tasks that has been named as BiCAR ***,this paper provides a full insight on the BiCAR system as well as on its dedicated developed software *** particular,BiEval software has been developed as based on a serious game strategy and a virtual reality environment to track the patient exercising duration,motion ranges,speeds,and forces over time for achieving a quantitative assessment of the rehabilitation ***,the paper presents the BiCAR/BiEval capabilities by referring to a pilot Randomized Controlled Trial(RCT).The clinical trials have been used to validate the BiCAR/BiEval in terms of engineering feasibility and user acceptance to achieve an innovative cost-oriented integrated hardware/software device for the bimanual assistive rehabilitation of post-stroke patients.

In this editorial we comment on the article by Zhang et al published in a recent issue of the World Journal of Gastrointestinal *** with appropriate lymph node dissection is still standard curative treatment in locally advanced gastric *** studies point out that gastric cancer surgery is a complex procedure that leads to a high risk of morbidity and *** factors can contribute to the onset of complications with consequent effects on prognosis and increased *** complications can be divided in complications related to anastomosis,to motility and to surgical site *** study presented by Zhang B et al represent an interesting analysis on the possibility to prevent postoperative *** study was performed on 131 patients with distal gastric cancer who underwent gastrectomy with D2 lymph node *** these patients,16%developed early postoperative *** univariate analysis showed that prealbumin level,hypertension,diabetes,history of abdominal surgery,R0 resection,and blood transfusion were factors influencing early postoperative complications after distal ***,the inclusion of the above significant variables in the logistic regression analysis revealed that hypertension,diabetes,a history of abdominal surgery,and blood transfusion were independent predictors of postoperative *** conclusion,preoperative and intraoperative factors can be used to establish an early postoperative nomogram *** results of the study presented by Zhang et al suggest that the prediction model can be used to guide the detection of postoperative complications and has clinical reference value.

Objective:To perform a systematic review of the scientific literature to identify risk factors associated with hepatitis B viruses(HBV) infection among blood ***:The literature search was carried out on Pub Med and scopus databases using the keywords "risk factors" "HBV infection" and "blood donors".No date or language restrictions were applied to the *** literature review was completed in *** selection process and the reporting of the review followed the Preferred Reporting Items for systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses *** Newcastle Ottawa scale was using to evaluate the quality of each single primary ***:Out of 172 records resulted in the search,5 papers were included in the final analysis because they are within acceptance *** of the selected studies were cross-sectional and three of them were case-control *** association resulted with some demographic and behavioral risk factors,such as marital status,dental treatment/procedure history,no stable relationship or multiple partners and family history of HBV ***:The systematic review performed encourages to conduct further research among blood donors in order to fully understand risk factors among donors in more extensive thus to provide valuable information about surveillance.

Multi-component flow with chemical reactions is a common problem in different industrial applications:the mixing chamber of a reaction injection molding(RIM)machine;the dynamics of diesel soot particles interacting with a porous-ceramic particulate filter;reactive transport in porous media;bio-chemical processes involving enzyme-catalyzed *** all these cases,mass diffusion/convection and wall or volume chemical interactions among components play an important *** the present paper we underline the importance of diffusion/convection/reaction mechanisms in bio-chemical processes using the Lattice Boltzmann(LB)*** bio-application where we studied diffusion/convection/reaction mechanisms is the quorum-sensing pathway for the bio-synthesis of the AI-2,a molecule that allows the bacteria to launch a coordinated attack on a host immune system(see[9,10]for more details of the bio-application).The overall goal is to create a micro-device to screen potential drugs that inhibit AI-2 *** Michaelis-Menten saturation kinetic model is implemented at the reactive surface and the results are shown in terms of two dimensionless numbers:Damkohler(Da)and Peclet(Pe)*** high Pe number a small conversion of reactants into products is obtained at the reactive surface,but the overall flux of products is high;moreover,a fast saturation of the conversion of reactants to products is obtained for high Da *** trade-off for setting the Pe and Da numbers depends on the specific application and the technologies used in the micro-device(e.g.,sensitivity of the detector,cost of reactants).
