The exploitation of different plant m.terials for the biosynthesis of nanoparticles is considered a green technology because it does not involve any harm.ul chem.cals. In this study, iron oxide nanoparticles（Fe3O4-NPs） were synthesized using a com.letely green biosynthetic m.thod by reduction of ferric chloride solution using brown seaweed water extracts. The two seaweeds Padina pavonica（Linnaeus） Thivy and Sargassum.acinarium.Linnaeus） Setchell 1933 were used in this study. The algae extract was used as a reductant of Fe Cl3 resulting in the phytosynthesis of Fe3O4-NPs. The phytogenic Fe3O4-NPs were characterized by surface plasm.n band observed close to 402 nm.and 415 nm. the obtained Fe3O4-NPs are in the particle sizes ranged from.10 to 19.5 nm.and 21.6 to 27.4 nm.for P. pavonica and S. acinarium. respectively. The strong signals of iron were reported in their corresponding EDX spectra. FTIR analyses revealed that sulphated polysaccharides are the m.in biom.lecules in the algae extracts that do dual function of reducing the Fe Cl3 and stabilizing the phytogenic Fe3O4-NPs. The biosynthesized Fe3O4-NPs were entrapped in calcium.alginates beads and used in Pb adsorption experim.nts. The biosynthesized Fe3O4-NPs alginate beads via P. pavonica（Linnaeus） Thivy had high capacity for biorem.val of Pb（91%） while that of S. acinarium.Linnaeus） Setchell 1933 had a capacity of（78%） after 75 *** values of the process param.ters for the m.xim.m.Pb rem.val efficiency by Fe3O4-NPs alginate beads synthesized via P. pavonica（Linnaeus） Thivy were also estim.ted.

Doha, Qatar is continuously positioning itself at the forefront of international urbanism.with different qualities of expression in term. of econom., culture, and global outlook, and is characterized by fast-tracked urban developm.nt process with large-scale urban interventions in the old center. Although the unprecedented urban growth of this city continues to be a subject of discussion, little attention has been given to investigate the new interventions and the resulting effects they have on the old center. This study aim. to exam.ne three im.ortant urban interventions, nam.ly, the m.seum.of Islam.c Art, the reconstruction of the traditional m.rket called Souq Waqif, and the m.heireb urban regeneration project. It exam.nes local and global issues, universal standard practices, and traditional knowledge. This study em.loys a descriptive analysis of these interventions to explore the im.act of change in the old center, exem.lified by socio-spatial and typo-m.rphological aspects. Reference is m.de to a num.er of em.irical studies, including behavioral m.pping, GIS population statistics, and analysis of historical m.ps. Results analytically narrate the reactions of these interventions to the possibility of sim.ltaneously adopting universal practices with local knowledge, and whether prioritizing local influences would represent narrow-m.ndedness in shaping the city.

Dem.nd is growing for explosive-free rock breakage system. for civil and m.ning engineering, and space industry applications. This paper highlights the work being undertaken in the Geom.chanics Laboratory of m. Gill University to m.ke a real application of m.crowave-assisted m.chanical rock breakage to fullface tunneling m.chines and drilling. Com.rehensive laboratory tests investigated the effect of m.crowave radiation on tem.erature profiles and strength reduction in hard rocks(norite, granite, and basalt)for a range of exposure tim.s and m.crowave power levels. The heating rate on the surface of the rock specim.ns linearly decreased with distance between the sam.le and the m.crowave antenna, regardless of m.crowave power level and exposure tim.. Tensile and uniaxial com.ressive strengths were reduced with increasing exposure tim. and power level. Scanning electron m.crographs(SEm.) highlighted fracture developm.nt in treated basalt. It was concluded that the m.crowave power level has a strong positive influence on the am.unt of heat dam.ge induced to the rock surface. Num.rical sim.lations of electric field intensity and wave propagation conducted with COm.OL m.ltiphysics~ software generated tem.erature profiles that were in close agreem.nt with experim.ntal results.

A sim.le, rapid, accurate and highly sensitive spectrofluorim.tric m.thod has been developed for determ.nation of som. angiotensin II receptor antagonists (AIIRA’s), nam.ly Losartan potassium.(Los-K), Irbesartan (Irb), Valsartan (Val) and Candesartan cilexetil (Cand) in pure form. as well as in their pharm.ceutical dosage form.. All the variables affecting the relative fluorescence intensity (RFI) were studied and optim.zed. Under the optim.m.conditions, linear relationships with good correlation coefflcients (0.9982–0.9991) were obtained over the concentration range from.0.006 m./m. to 1.7 m./m.. Good accuracy and precision were successfully obtained for the analysis of tablets containing each drug alone or com.ined with hydrochlorothiazide (HCTZ) without interferences from.the co-form.lated HCTZ or the additives com.only present in tablets.

Introduction: Oral cancer is the third m.st prom.nent type of cancer in Bangladesh. During or after oral cancer treatm.nt, im.une-com.rom.sed cancer patients m.y be susceptible to an infection by m.lti-drug-resistant opportunistic m.crobes. This study aim. to identify the prevalent m.croorganism. from.the infected site of oral cancer patients and observe their antibiotic susceptibility pattern. m.terials and m.thods: Clinical sam.les were collected from.the infected sites of oral cancer patients and healthy people. The swabs collected were placed on nutrient agar slant, then incubated for 24 hours at 37ºC. Bacteria from.the slant were inoculated in several selective m.dia (m.nnitol Salt Agar m.dia, KF Streptococcus Agar m.dia, Cetrim.de Agar, Eosin m.thylene Blue Agar). Several biochem.cal tests identified opportunistic m.croorganism.. Finally, the antibiotic susceptibility test was perform.d by the Kirby Bauer disc diffusion m.thod. Results: The study found that 65.4% of m.crobes isolated from.the patients’ oral cavities were Gram.negative bacteria, and 34.6% were Gram.positive bacteria. Am.ng the patient group isolates (n = 55), the m.st prevalent organism.was Pseudom.nas spp. (30;54.54%). Others were Klebsiella spp. (27;49.09%), Staphylococcus spp. (24;43.63%), E. coli (14;25.45%), Streptococcus spp. (14;25.45%), Proteus spp. (12;21.8%) and Enterococcus spp. (6;10.90%). Both Gram.positive and Gram.negative m.crobes from.the patient group have shown high resistance to the com.only used antibiotics. In the control group (n = 50), the m.st prevalent organism.was Staphylococcus spp. (15;30%). Other organism. were Streptococcus spp. (6;12%), Klebsiella spp. (11;22%), E. coli (3;6%), Streptococcus spp. (14;25.45%), Pseudom.nas spp. (8;16%). Objective:To investigate the changes in total phenols,flavonoids,tannins,vitam.n E, β-carotene and antioxidant activity during soaking of three white sorghum.***: The changes in total phenols,total ilavonoids,tannins,phenolic acids com.ounds,flavonoid com.onents,vitam.n E,P-carotene and antioxidant activity during soaking of sorghum.grains were ***:Total phenols,total flavonoids,tannins,vitam.n E,P-carotene and antioxidant activity in raw sorghum.were ranged from.109.21 to 116.70,45.91 to 54.69,1.39 to 21.79 m./100 g,1.74 to 5.25,0.54 to 1.19 m./kg and 21.72%to 27.69%and 25.29%to 31.97%,respectively. The above m.asured com.ounds were significantly decreased after soaking.p-Hydroxybenzoic acid,vanillic acid,syringic acid and cinnam.c acid represent the m.jor phenolic acids in Dorado *** ferulic acid,p-coum.ric acid,gallic acid and caffeic acid represent the m.jor phenolic acids in *** the other hand,protocatechuic acid represents the m.jor phenolic acids in *** flavonoids com.onents,Dorado was the highest variety in kam.ferol and naringenin while Shandaweel-6 was the highest variety in luteolin, apigenin,hypersoid,quercelin and ***,Giza-15 was the highest variety in catechin. Phenolic acids,flavonoid com.ounds and antioxidant activities were decreased after soaking. Conclusions:Sorghum.varieties have m.derate quantities from.total phenols,total flavonoids, tannins,phenolic acids com.ounds,flavonoid com.onents,vitam.n E,P-carotene and antioxidant activity which decreased after soaking.

AIm.o com.are predictive ability of Budd-Chiari syndrom. (BCS) prognostic indices (PIs) for one-year survival and Transjugular intrahepatic portosystem.c shunt (TIPS) *** retrospective study enrolled 194 Egyptian patients with prim.ry BCS who presented to the Budd-Chiari Study Group of Ain Sham. University Hospital. Calculation of the available PIs was perform.d using Child-Pugh and m.del for end-stage liver disease scores, BCS-specific PIs (Clichy, New Clichy and Rotterdam. for all patients, and BCS-TIPS PI only for patients who underwent TIPS. The overall one-year survival rate and the one-year shunt patency rate for TIPS were *** overall one-year survival rate was 69.6%, and the New Clichy PI revealed the best validity for its prediction at a cut-off value of 3.75, with sensitivity and specificity of 78% and 73.3%, respectively [area under receiver operating characteristic curve (AUC) = 0.806]. The one-year survival rate post-TIPS was 89.7%, and the BCS-TIPS score dem.nstrated validity for its prediction at a cut-off value of 3.92 (sensitivity and specificity were 71.4% and 64.5%, respectively) (AUC = 0.715). Logistic regression analysis revealed that the New Clichy PI (P = 0.030), high serum.total bilirubin (P = 0.047) and low album.n (P m.rtality within one year. The one-year shunt patency rate in TIPS was 80.2%, and none of the PIs exhibited significant validity for its *** New Clichy score could independently predict the one-year survival in Egyptian BCS patients.

Background: m.nim.l hepatic Encephalopathy (m.E) is defined as HE without sym.tom. on clinical/neurological exam.nation, but with deficits in som. cognitive areas that can only be m.asured by neuropsychom.tric testing. However, num.rous studies have shown that, although the neurological sym.tom. are slight, affected patients are m.rkedly im.aired in their quality of life and ability to work. Various treatm.nt m.dalities that have been shown to reverse m.E include lactulose/lactitol, probiotics/synbiotics, L-carnitine but rifaxim.n has shown a general trend toward better efficacy and better tolerability in patients with overt hepatic encephalopathy (OHE). Objective: Our objective is to assess the diagnostic role of m.nim.ntal state exam.nation (m.SE), electroencephalography (EEG) and visual evoked potential (VEP) in detection of m.E and to evaluate the efficacy of rifaxim.n in im.roving EEG and VEP in patients with m.E. Patients and m.thods: Sixty cirrhotic patients were enrolled in the study depending on clinical evidence of stigm.ta of chronic liver disease, laboratory investigations including liver function tests, ultrasonographic features of liver cirrhosis and with no evidence of overt hepatic encephalopathy. Diagnois of m.E was m.de depending on m.nim.ntal state exam.nation (m.SE) and neurophysiological tools including EEG and VEP. A control group of sixty healthy volunteers with age and sex m.tched were included. The patient group received Rifaxim.n 550 m. twice daily for 8 weeks then follow up EEG and VEP studies were done. Results: m.E was detected in 36.7%, 48.3%, 51.7% of our series based on m.SE, EEG and VEP respectively. Child Pouph A, B, C was found in 51.7%, 35%, 13.3% respectively. Rifaxim.n was well tolerated.
