Molecular recognition of cyclophanes in water

Molecular recognition in water,the biological solvent,always receives significant research focus in supramolecular chemistry.The mechanisms of molecular recognition in water is key to comprehending biological processes at the molecular level.Over the past five decades,supramolecular chemists have developed a vast array of synthetic receptors with highly diverse structures and recognition properties.Among them,cyclophanes represent an important family of macrocyclic receptors that have been extensively explored.The aromatic moieties in cyclophanes not only facilitate chemical modifications to impart water solubility but also enable forming hydrophobic cavities for guest inclusion in aqueous environments.Pioneered by Koga et al.,who reported the first inclusion complex of cyclophanes in water and solid state,numerous water-soluble cyclophanes,including derivatives of blue box,calixarenes,resorcinarenes,pillararenes,octopusarenes,biphenarenes,coronarenes,and naphthotubes,etc.,have been synthesized and subjected to investigation of the recognition capabilities in aqueous solutions.This review provides an overview of cyclophane receptors designed to bind organic guests in water.We categorize them into two classes based on the modifications made to their hydrophobic cavities:those with“exo-functionalized hydrophobic cavities”and those with“endo-functionalized hydrophobic cavities”.We introduce their distinctive features and discuss strategies to enhance recognition affinity and selectivity.This review aims to inspire the development of novel synthetic receptors with intriguing properties and foster practical applications of cyclophanes.

Rechargeable potassium-ion batteries(PIBs)have great potential in the application of electrochemical energy storage devices due to the low cost,the abundant resources and the low standard reduction potential of potassium.As electrode materials are the key factors to determine the electrochemical performance of devices,relevant research is being carried out to build high-performance PIBs.In recent years,significant progress has been made in the study of the design of inorganic electrode materials.Herein,we review the cathode materials(Prussian blue and its analogues,layered oxides and poly anionic compounds)and the anode materials(antimony-based,selenium-based and bismuth-based compounds).On the basis of previous work,the structural design principles for improving the performance of electrode materials are reasonably summarized.At the same time,the problems that need to be solved in the preparation of electrode materials and the direction of future research and improvement are pointed out.

Green hydrogen produced by water electrolysis combined with renewable energy is a promising alternative to fossil fuels due to its high energy density with zero-carbon emissions.Among water electrolysis technologies,the anion exchange membrane(AEM) water electrolysis has gained intensive attention and is considered as the next-generation emerging technology due to its potential advantages,such as the use of low-cost non-noble metal catalysts,the relatively mature stack assembly process,etc.However,the AEM water electrolyzer is still in the early development stage of the kW-level stack,which is mainly attributed to severe performance decay caused by the core component,i.e.,AEM.Here,the review comprehensively presents the recent progress of advanced AEM from the view of the performance of water electrolysis cells.Herein,fundamental principles and critical components of AEM water electrolyzers are introduced,and work conditions of AEM water electrolyzers and AEM performance improvement strategies are discussed.The challenges and perspectives are also analyzed.

Inhibition of Bcl-6 Expression Ameliorates Asthmatic Characteristics in Mice

Objective The function of Bcl-6 in T follicular helper(Tfh)cell maturation is indispensable,and Tfh cells play a pivotal role in asthma.This study investigated the impact of Bcl-6 on asthmatic traits.Methods The microscopic pathological alterations,airway resistance(AR),and lung compliance(LC)were determined in asthmatic mice and Bcl-6 interference mice.The surface molecular markers of Tfh cells and the Bcl-6 mRNA and protein expression were determined by flow cytometry,RT-qPCR,and Western blotting,respectively.The relationships between the Tfh cell ratio and the IgE and IgG1 concentrations in peripheral blood mononuclear cells(PBMCs)and bronchoalveolar lavage fluid(BALF)were determined.Results Asthmatic inflammatory changes were observed in the lung tissue and were attenuated by Bcl-6 siRNA and dexamethasone(DXM).Asthmatic mice exhibited an increased AR and a decreased LC,while Bcl-6 siRNA or DXM mitigated these changes.The percentages of Tfh cells and eosinophils were significantly increased in the asthmatic mice,and they significantly decreased after Bcl-6 inhibition or DXM treatment.RT-qPCR and Western blotting analyses revealed that the Bcl-6 expression level in PBMCs was significantly higher in asthmatic mice,and it decreased following Bcl-6 inhibition or DXM treatment.The IgE expression in the serum and BALF and the B cell expression in PBMCs exhibited a similar trend.In asthmatic mice,the ratio of Tfh cells in the peripheral blood showed a strong positive correlation with the IgE levels in the serum and BALF,but not with the IgG1 levels.Conclusion The amelioration of airway inflammation and airway hyper-responsiveness is achieved through Bcl-6 suppression,which effectively hinders Tfh cell differentiation,ultimately resulting in a concurrent reduction in IgE production.

We study the decays ofΛb→Λ(→pπ^(−))ℓ^(+)ℓ^(−)withℓ=(e,μ,τ).We examine the full angular distributions with polarizedΛb,where the T-odd observables are identified.We discuss the possible effects of new physics(NP)and find that the T-odd observables are sensitive to them as they vanish in the standard model.Special attention is given to the interference of(pseudo)scalar operators with(axial)vector operators in polarized Λ_(b)→Λ(→pπ^(−))τ^(+)τ^(−),which are studied for the first time.Their effects are proportional to the lepton masses and therefore may evade the constraint from Λ_(b)→Λ(→pπ^(−))μ^(+)μ^(−) at the LHCb naturally.AsΛ_(b)→Λ(→pπ^(−))τ^(+)τ^(−) is uncontaminated by the charmonia resonance,it provides a clean background to probe NP.In addition,we show that the experimental central value of K10 in Λ_(b)→Λ(→pπ^(−))μ^(+)μ^(−) at the LHCb can be explained by the NP case,which couples to the right-handed quarks and leptons.The polarization fraction of Λ_(b) at the LHCb is found to be consistent with zero regardless of the NP scenarios.

Tomato mottle mosaic virus: Characterization, resistance gene effectiveness, and quintuplex RT-PCR detection system

Tomato mottle mosaic virus(ToMMV), an economically important species of the genus Tobamovirus, causes significant loss in yield and quality of tomato fruits. Here, we identified the Shandong isolate of ToMMV(ToMMV-SD) collected from symptomatic tomato fruits in Weifang, Shandong Province of China. ToMMV-SD caused symptoms such as severe mosaic, mottling, and necrosis of tomato leaves, yellow spot and necrotic lesions on tomato fruits. The obtained full genome of ToMMV-SD was 6 399 nucleotides(accession number MW373515) and had the highest identity of 99.5% with that of isolate SC13-051 from the United States of America at the genomic level. The infectious clone of ToMMV-SD was constructed and induced clear mosaic and necrotic symptoms onto Nicotiana benthamiana leaves. Several commercial tomato cultivars, harboring Tm-2~2 resistance gene, and pepper cultivars, containing L resistance gene, were susceptible to ToMMV-SD. Plants of Solanum melongena(eggplant) and Brassica pekinensis(napa cabbage) showed mottling symptoms, while N. tabacum cv. Zhongyan 100 displayed latent infection. ToMMV-SD did not infect plants of N. tabacum cv. Xanthi NN, Brassica rapa ssp. chinensis(bok choy), Raphanus sativus(radish), Vigna unguiculata cv. Yuanzhong 28-2(cowpea), or Tm-2~2 transgenic N. benthamiana. A quintuplex RT-PCR system differentiated ToMMV from tomato mosaic virus, tomato brown rugose fruit virus, tobacco mosaic virus, and tomato spotted wilt virus, with the threshold amount of 0.02 pg. These results highlight the threat posed by ToMMV to tomato and pepper cultivation and offer an efficient detection system for the simultaneous detection of four tobamoviruses and tomato spotted wilt virus infecting tomato plants in the field.

Implementation of sub-100 nm vertical channel-all-around(CAA) thin-film transistor using thermal atomic layer deposited IGZO channel

In-Ga-Zn-O(IGZO) channel based thin-film transistors(TFT), which exhibit high on-off current ratio and relatively high mobility, has been widely researched due to its back end of line(BEOL)-compatible potential for the next generation dynamic random access memory(DRAM) application. In this work, thermal atomic layer deposition(TALD) indium gallium zinc oxide(IGZO) technology was explored. It was found that the atomic composition and the physical properties of the IGZO films can be modulated by changing the sub-cycles number during atomic layer deposition(ALD) process. In addition, thin-film transistors(TFTs) with vertical channel-all-around(CAA) structure were realized to explore the influence of different IGZO films as channel layers on the performance of transistors. Our research demonstrates that TALD is crucial for high density integration technology, and the proposed vertical IGZO CAA-TFT provides a feasible path to break through the technical problems for the continuous scale of electronic equipment.

针对一阶多智能体系统提出一种抗干扰的分布式控制算法,在固定时间内解决具有状态约束和外部扰动存在情况下的多智能体系统凸优化问题.该算法分为两部分:第1部分使得每个智能体在任意初始条件下都能在固定时间内收敛到一致;第2部分在满足状态约束条件的同时,使所有局部目标函数的总和在固定时间内取得最小值.该算法能够在外部有界扰动存在的情况下抑制干扰信号,获得最优解,且收敛时间不受初始状态和外部扰动的影响,可以根据任务需求离线地预分配任务建立时间.利用凸优化和固定时间李雅普诺夫稳定性理论证明算法在有界扰动存在时的固定时间收敛性,最后通过智能电网中经济调度问题的实例验证算法的有效性和优越性.

Sedimentary architecture and distribution of intra-platform shoal in sequence framework of Permian Changxing Formation in central Sichuan Basin,SW China

Based on the comprehensive analysis of core, thin section, logging and seismic data, this study carried out the identification and comparison of Permian Changxing Formation sequences, clarified the typical sedimentary architectures of intra-platform shoal, investigated the vertical and horizontal development and distribution of intra-platform shoal in each sequence, and thus established the sedimentary evolution model of shoal body. The study results are reflected in four aspects.First, there are two complete third-order sequences(SQ1 and SQ2) in Changxing Formation in central Sichuan Basin. SQ1 is generally thick in the north and thin in the south, and SQ2 shows a thickness differentiation trend of “two thicknesses and three thinnesses”. Second, the Changxing Formation in central Sichuan Basin mainly develops intra-platform shoal, inter-shoal sea and intra-platform depression subfacies. In the vertical direction, the intra-platform shoal mainly presents two typical sedimentary sequences: stable superposed and high-frequency interbedded. Third, the stable superimposed sedimentary sequence is developed in the shoal belt at the edge of intra-platform depression, which is composed of two shoal-forming periods and located in the highstand systems tracts(HSTs) of SQ1 and SQ2. The high-frequency interbedded sedimentary sequence is developed in the southern shoal belt of intra-platform depression, which is composed of four shoal-forming periods and mainly located in the HST of SQ2. Fourth, during the SQ1 deposition, the intra-platform shoal was mainly developed at the edge of the intra-platform depression on the north side of the study area, and the inter-shoal sea subfacies was mainly developed on the south side. During the SQ2 deposition, the intra-platform shoal was widely developed in the area, forming two nearly parallel intra-platform shoal belts. The study results provide direction and ideas for exploration of Changxing Formation intra-platform shoal reservoirs in central Sichuan Basin.
