Modelling and validation of flash flood inundation in drylands

In the context of climate change and human activities,flood disasters in arid mountainous areas have become increasingly frequent,and seriously threatened the safety of people's lives and *** and accurate flash flood inundation modelling is an essential foundational research area,which can aid in the reduction of casualties and the minimization of disaster losses;however,this modelling is also very difficult,and models need to be urgently developed to address flash flood forecasting and *** objective of this study is to construct a numerical modelling method for flash floods in *** on a 2. high-resolution flood numerical model(Flood Map-Hydro Inundation2.),we hindcasted the dynamic process of flash flooding and show the spatio-temporal characteristics of flash flood inundation for the“8·18”flash flood disaster that occurred in Datong county,Qinghai *** results showed that the model output effectively agreed with the observed inundation after the event in terms of both spatial extent and temporal *** flooding mainly occurred between 00:00 and 01:00 on August 18,***,Hejiazhuang and Longwo villages were affected most *** further conducted model sensitivity analysis and found that the model was highly sensitive to both roughness and hydraulic conductivity in drylands,and the effect of hydraulic conductivity was more *** study confirmed the good performance of our model for the simulation of flash flooding in arid areas and provides a potential method for flash flood assessment and management in arid areas.

Anthocyanins play crucial roles in pollen protection and pollinator attraction in flowering ***,the mechanisms underlying flower color determination and whether floral anthocyanin regulators participate in other processes remain largely unresolved in soybeans(Glycine max).In this study,we investigated the genetic components and mechanisms governing anthocyanin biosynthesis in soybean *** and genetic studies have characterized two antagonistic regulators,the positive activator GmMYBA3 and the negative repressor GmMYBR1,that modulate the gene expression of anthocyanin biosynthesis in soybean *** findings revealed a regulatory interplay between GmMYBA3 and GmMYBR1 bridged by GmTT8a,highlighting the complexity of anthocyanin regulation in different soybean *** of additional soybean cultivars demonstrated the universality of GmMYBA3 and GmMYBR1 in regulating floral anthocyanin biosynthesis-related genes,with GmF3’5’H identified as a crucial determinant of white flower *** study provides a molecular mechanism underlying soybean flower color determination,paving the way for the molecular modification of soybean flowers to probably enhance their resistance to abiotic stresses and attractiveness to pollinators.

Ductile Ag_(2.(Te,S)pseudobinary compounds have attracted great attention in thermoelectric community since they can be fabricated into high-performance flexible and hetero-shaped thermoelectric ***,in spite of the numerous studies,the‘brittleeductile’transition boundary in Ag_(2.(Te,S)is still *** this work,a series of Te-rich Ag_(2.(Te,S)pseudobinary compounds have been *** structure characterizations confirm they belong to the new-concept of *** systematically investigation on the mechanical properties demonstrate that the‘brittl-eductile’transition boundary appears around x=*** good ductility is observed in the Te-rich Ag_(2.Te_(1-x)S_(x)crystalizing in the Ag_(2.Te room-temperature monoclinic structure and high-temperature cubic structure,which are thought to be brittle ***,Ag content is found to be a very critical parameter determining the ductility of Te-rich Ag_(2.Te_(1-x)S_(x).Very slight Ag-deficiency can greatly deteriorate the *** ther-moelectric properties of these ductile Te-rich Ag_(2.Te_(1-x)S_(x)pseudobinary compounds are investigated.A maximum thermoelectric figure-of-merit of 0.6 is obtained for Ag_(2.Te_(0.9)S_(0.1)at 600 *** work sheds light on the future investigation of Ag_(2.(Te,S)pseudobinary compounds.

Kinetics and mechanism of the reaction between thiourea and iodate in unbuffered medium

The reaction between iodate and thiourea has been studied in an unbuffered acidic medium. In excess iodate the reaction shows not only oligooscillations in pH, Pt potential and the concentration of iodide ion, [I?], but also an initial induction period which has the linear relation with initial pH. At the end of the induction period, [I?] decreases sharply and a yellow coloration (due to iodine) appears transiently. While in excess thiourea iodine is produced and finally con- sumed, leaving milky deposits (due to sulfur) at the end of the reaction. The induction period from the start of the reaction to the maximum of [I2. is also directly proportional to initial pH. A 14-step mechanism, including a H+-mediated preequalibrium, Dusman reaction, iodine-sulfur reactions and sulfur-sulfur reactions, is proposed. Computer simulations using this mechanism give good agreement with experiments.

Tackling the problem of poor conductivity and catalytic stability of pristine metal-organic frameworks(MOFs) is crucial to improve their oxygen evolution reaction(OER) ***,we introduce a novel strategy of dysprosium(Dy) doping,using the unique 4f orbitals of this rare earth element to enhance electrocatalytic activity of *** method involves constructing Dy-doped Ni-MOF(Dy@Ni-MOF) nanoneedles on carbon cloth via a Dy-induced valence electronic perturbation *** and density functional theory(DFT) calculations reveal that Dy doping can effectively modify the electronic structure of the Ni active centers and foster a strong electronic interaction between Ni and *** resulting benefits include a reduced work function and a closer proximity of the d-band center to the Fermi level,which is conducive to improving electrical conductivity and promoting the adsorption of oxygen-containing ***,the Dy@Ni-MOF achieves superhydrophilicity,ensuring effective electrolyte contact and thus accelerating reaction kinetics,Ex-situ and in-situ analysis results manifest Dy_(2.O_(3)/NiOOH as the actual active ***,Dy@Ni-MOF shows impressive OER performance,significantly surpassing ***,the overall water splitting device with Dy@NiMOF as an anode delivers a low cell voltage of 1.51 V at 10 mA cm^(-2. and demonstrates long-term stability for 100 h,positioning it as a promising substitute for precious metal catalysts.

Optimization of Product Distribution for MIP Units Using Data Mining

Based on data from a petrochemical company’s MIP unit over the past three years,19 input variables and 2.output variables were selected for modeling using the maximum information coefficient and Pearson correlation coefficient among 155 variables,which included properties of feedstock oil and spent catalyst,operational variables,and material *** distillation range variables were reduced using factor analysis,and the feedstock oils were clustered into three types using the K-means++*** feedstock oil type was then used as an input variable for *** XGBoost model and a back propagation(BP)neural network model with a structure of 2.-15-15-2.were developed to predict the combined yield of gasoline and propylene,as well as the coke *** the test set,the BP neural network model demonstrated better fitting and generalization abilities with a mean absolute percentage error and determination coefficient of 1.48%and 0.738,respectively,compared to the XGBoost *** was therefore chosen for further optimization *** genetic algorithm was utilized to optimize operational variables in order to increase the combined yield of gasoline and propylene while controlling the growth of coke *** commercial test results in the MIP unit showed an average increase of 1.39 percentage points for the combined yield of gasoline and propylene and an average decrease of 0.11 percentage points for coke *** results indicate that the model effectively improves the combined yield of gasoline and propylene while controlling the increase in coke yield.

Various material design strategies have been developed to enhance photocatalytic performance of TiO_(2..However,no report is available on applications of the photopiezocatalysis strategy on TiO_(2.due to its lack of *** we developed a low-temperature molten salt etching process to create rutile TiO_(2.nanoparticles by etching[MgO_(6)]octahedrons away from MgTiO_(3)by molten NH_(4)Cl,during which a lattice distortion occurred in TiO_(2..The lattice distortion broke the structure symmetry of rutile TiO_(2.and subsequently endowed these rutile TiO_(2.nanoparticles with an unusual piezoelectric response with the maximum effective piezoelectric coefficient(d_(33))of~41.6 pm/V,which had not previously been found in TiO_(2.***,the photopiezocatalysis strategy was applied for the first time to enhance the photocatalytic performance of these TiO_(2.*** creation of lattice distortion to induce piezoelectricity could be extended to other photocatalysts that the photopiezocatalysis strategy has not been applied to and may generate novel functionalities for various technical applications.

Photophysical properties of nitrogen-doped carbon quantum dots synthesized by graphite

Here,nitrogen-doped carbon quantum dots(N-CQDs)were successfully synthesized by the solvothermal method using graphite as the carbon source and N,N-dimethylformamide as the nitrogen *** characterized the structure and chemical constitution of N-CQDs using X-ray diffraction,Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and X-ray photoelectron *** investigated the pump-and temperature-dependent photoluminescence(PL)properties and the dynamic exciton recombination processes of N-CQDs,using both steady-state and time-resolved PL *** spectral results show that the PL emission peak located at 518 nm at room temperature,mainly originates from the n-π∗transition on the surface of *** pump fluence and PL integral intensity were analyzed to demonstrate the existence of single-photon excitation under the 405 nm laser *** the temperature increases,the non-radiative transition gradually increases,which decreases the PL intensity,the full width at half maxima first narrows and then widens and the PL lifetime gradually ***,we combined the N-CQDs with chip to prepare light-emitting diode(LED).The resulting chromaticity coordinate was obtained to be(0.2.,0.40).This study offers a comprehensive understanding of the luminescence mechanism in N-doped CQDs and introduces a novel approach for the quickly fabrication of full-color display LEDs.
