Ginsenoside Rg1(Rg1),one of the main active components of Panax ginseng,has been demonstrated to inhibit proliferation of vascular smooth muscle cells(VSMCs) induced by tumor necrosis factor-αin *** present study is aimed to examine the possible effects of Rgl on vascular neointimal hyperplasia in balloon-injured carotid artery of rats in *** animal model was established by rubbing the endothelia with a balloon catheter in the common carotid artery(CCA) of male Sprague Dauley *** the rats were intraperitoneally injected with distilled water in model group and sham operation control,or with Rgl 4 mg·kg·d,8 mg·kg·d and 16 mg·kg·d in other balloon injured *** consecutive 14 d,the vascular intimal hyperplasia was evidenced by histopathological changes of the CCA and the protein expression of proliferating cell nuclear antigen(PCNA),a marker of the proliferation in VSMCs,and the phosphorylated extracellular signal-regulated kinase2(pERK2) as well as mitogen-activated protein kinase phosphatase-1(MKP-1) were examined by immunohistochemistry;the expressions of proto-oncogene(c-fos),ERK2 and SMα-actin mRNA were analyzed by Real-Time *** results demonstrated that Rgl administration could significantly ameliorate the histopathology of CCA and decrease the protein expression of PCNA induced by endothelia rubbing;and Rgl medication also significantly decreased the expressions of p-ERK2 protein,ERK2 and c-fos mRNA in vessel wall,but up-regulated the MKP-1 expression, which was reported to inactivate mitogen-activated protein kinase ***,Rgl could elevate the decreased SMα-actin mRNA expression induced by balloon *** is concluded that Rg1 can suppress the vascular neointimal hyperplasia induced by balloon injury,the mechanism may be involved in the inhibition on ERK2 signaling,and related,at least partly,to the increase in MKP-1 expression.

All laser direct writing process for temperature sensor based on graphene and silver

A highly sensitive temperature sensing array is prepared by all laser direct writing(LDW)method,using laser induced silver(liS)as electrodes and laser induced graphene(liG)as temperature sensing layer.A finite element analysis(FEA)photothermal model incorporating a phase transition mechanism is developed to investigate the relationship between laser parameters and liG properties,providing guidance for laser processing parameters selection with laser power of 1–5 W and laser scanning speed(greater than 50 mm/s).The deviation of simulation and experimental data for widths and thickness of liG are less than 5%and 9%,*** electrical properties and temperature responsiveness of liG are also *** changing the laser process parameters,the thickness of the liG ablation grooves can be in the range of 30–120μm and the resistivity of liG can be regulated within the range of 0.031–67.2Ω・*** percentage temperature coefficient of resistance(TCR)is calculated as−0.58%/°***,the FEA photothermal model is studied through experiments and simulations data regarding liS,and the average deviation between experiment and simulation is less than 5%.The liS sensing samples have a thickness of about 14μm,an electrical resistivity of 0.0001–100Ω・m is insensitive to temperature and pressure ***,for a liS-liG based temperature sensing array,a correction factor is introduced to compensate for the liG temperature sensing being disturbed by pressure stimuli,the temperature measurement difference is decreased from 11.2 to 2.6°C,indicating good accuracy for temperature measurement.

Immunotherapy has great promise in improving malignant tumor ***,the efficacy of existing strategies is often limited by the immunosuppressive ***,we demonstrate an in situ bionic immunoactivator,PLT-Bec1/DTA-1,with possessed natural advantages of platelets for tumor recruitment and activation,on which DTA-1(CD357 monoclonal antibody)and Bec1 were tethered as combined immune ***-Bec1/DTA-1,as a self-triggered release repository,can deliver the pre-tethered Bec1 and DTA-1 deeply through the secretion of platelet microparticles(PMPs),thereby cooperate tacitly and exhibit superiority in immune activation of dendritic cells(DCs)and T cells via autophagy inducibility,coupled with glucocorticoid-induced tumor necrosis factor receptor(GITR)-triggered T_(Reg) suppression,remodeled the immunosuppressive network of tumor ***-Bec1/DTA-1 promoted antigen presentation and T cell proliferation,and alleviated the low activity state of bone marrow-derived dendritic cells(BMDCs)in tumor suppressive ***-Bec1/DTA-1 inhibited tumor recurrence(5-and 13-fold lower of control group in tumor volume)and CD8^(+)T/T_(Reg) ratio(6.3-and 8.8-fold *** group)in mouse tumor model after intravenous or subcutaneous ***,PLT-Bec1/DTA-1 prevented tumor colonization in lung through in situ immune activation,and was slightly superior to the combined of Bec1 and *** findings highlight the promise of delivering immunostimulatory payloads via bionic carriers,eliciting automatic in situ activation of effector immune cells in tumor microenvironment for tumor *** these results provide promising prospects into the application of immunoactivator in improving cancer synergistic immunotherapy to overcome the bottlenecks in clinic.

Various material design strategies have been developed to enhance photocatalytic performance of TiO_(2).However,no report is available on applications of the photopiezocatalysis strategy on TiO_(2)due to its lack of *** we developed a low-temperature molten salt etching process to create rutile TiO_(2)nanoparticles by etching[MgO_(6)]octahedrons away from MgTiO_(3)by molten NH_(4)Cl,during which a lattice distortion occurred in TiO_(2).The lattice distortion broke the structure symmetry of rutile TiO_(2)and subsequently endowed these rutile TiO_(2)nanoparticles with an unusual piezoelectric response with the maximum effective piezoelectric coefficient(d_(33))of~41.6 pm/V,which had not previously been found in TiO_(2)***,the photopiezocatalysis strategy was applied for the first time to enhance the photocatalytic performance of these TiO_(2)*** creation of lattice distortion to induce piezoelectricity could be extended to other photocatalysts that the photopiezocatalysis strategy has not been applied to and may generate novel functionalities for various technical applications.

Coronaviruses are widely transmissible between humans and animals, causing diseases of varying severity. Porcine enteric alphacoronavirus(PEAV) is a newly-discovered pathogenic porcine enteric coronavirus in recent years, which causes watery diarrhea in newborn piglets. The host inflammatory responses to PEAV and its metabolic regulation mechanisms remain unclear, and no antiviral studies have been reported. Therefore, we investigated the pathogenic mechanism and antiviral drugs of PEAV. The transcriptomic analysis of PEAV-infected host cells revealed that PEAV could upregulate lipid metabolism pathways. In lipid metabolism, steady-state energy processes, which can be mediated by lipid droplets(LDs), are the main functions of organelles. LDs are also important in viral infection and inflammation. In infected cells, PEAV increased LD accumulation, upregulated NF-κB signaling, promoted the production of the inflammatory cytokines IL-1β and IL-8, and induced cell death. Inhibiting LD accumulation with a DGAT-1 inhibitor significantly inhibited PEAV replication, downregulated the NF-κB signaling pathway, reduced the production of IL-1β and IL-8, and inhibited cell death. The NF-κB signaling pathway inhibitor BAY11-7082 significantly inhibited LD accumulation and PEAV replication. Metformin hydrochloride also exerted anti-PEAV effects and significantly inhibited LD accumulation, downregulated the NF-κB signaling pathway, reduced the production of IL-1β and IL-8, and inhibited cell death. LD accumulation in the lipid metabolism pathway therefore plays an important role in the replication and pathogenesis of PEAV, and metformin hydrochloride inhibits LD accumulation and the inflammatory response to exert anti-PEAV activity and reducing pathological injury. These findings contribute new targets for developing treatments for PEAV infections.

Drilling-based measuring method for the c-φ parameter of rock and its field application

The technology of drilling tests makes it possible to obtain the strength parameter of rock accurately in situ. In this paper, a new rock cutting analysis model that considers the influence of the rock crushing zone(RCZ) is built. The formula for an ultimate cutting force is established based on the limit equilibrium principle. The relationship between digital drilling parameters(DDP) and the c-φ parameter(DDP-cφ formula, where c refers to the cohesion and φ refers to the internal friction angle) is derived, and the response of drilling parameters and cutting ratio to the strength parameters is analyzed. The drillingbased measuring method for the c-φ parameter of rock is constructed. The laboratory verification test is then completed, and the difference in results between the drilling test and the compression test is less than 6%. On this basis, in-situ rock drilling tests in a traffic tunnel and a coal mine roadway are carried out, and the strength parameters of the surrounding rock are effectively tested. The average difference ratio of the results is less than 11%, which verifies the effectiveness of the proposed method for obtaining the strength parameters based on digital drilling. This study provides methodological support for field testing of rock strength parameters.

OBJECTIVE:To explore the four qi of Pfaffia glomerata(PG)and endow this foreign folk herb with the properties of Chinese medicine,make it Chinese medicinal and localized,and could be used as a Chinese ***:The normal group,six cold herb groups,six hot herb groups,six cool herb groups,PG prescription group(PGPG),and dangshen(Radix Codonopsis)prescription group(CPPG)were prepared with corresponding concentrations of water extracts,these herb extracts were administered by gavage to SpragueDawley rats,and the 12 h urine at night on the 29th day of the SD rats in each group were collected,liquid Chromatograph Mass Spectrometer system was used to analyze them,the best discriminant models for the medicinal properties of cold-hot and cold-cool were set up,so as to the medicinal properties of PGPG,CPPG and PG were *** on the Progenesis qi,Human Metabolome Database,Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes,MetaboAnalyst 5.0 database,we enriched metabolic pathway and classification mechanism of medicinal properties of cold-cool Chinese herbs and the molecular mechanism of PG ***:We established a best model of cold-hot herbal discrimination in the positive ion mode,then the probability that PGPG was predicted cold property was 88.9%.Furthermore,a model of cold-cool herbal discrimination was established,then the probability of PGPG containing the cool property was 77.8%.In addition,typical cold and cool herbs mainly affected nine biomarkers such as tyrosine-proline,(R)-3',7-Dihydroxy-2',4'-dimethoxyisoflavane in *** regulation trend of PGPG on markers was basically as same as the cool herbs and mainly involved in regulating the two pathways of cytochrome P450 and purine ***:The results showed PGPG had a cool medicinal property as same as CPPG,and the regulation trend of PGPG on markers was consistent with cool ***,the medicine properties PG and CP should be consistent,and the Traditional Chinese Medicine p

Fairness in machine learning: definition, testing,debugging, and application

In recent years, artificial intelligence technology has been widely used in many fields, such as computer vision, natural language processing and autonomous driving. Machine learning algorithms, as the core technique of AI, have significantly facilitated people's lives. However, underlying fairness issues in machine learning systems can pose risks to individual fairness and social security. Studying fairness definitions, sources of problems, and testing and debugging methods of fairness can help ensure the fairness of machine learning systems and promote the wide application of artificial intelligence technology in various fields. This paper introduces relevant definitions of machine learning fairness and analyzes the sources of fairness problems. Besides, it provides guidance on fairness testing and debugging methods and summarizes popular datasets. This paper also discusses the technical advancements in machine learning fairness and highlights future challenges in this area.
