It is important to translate dosage of each medical herb in a prescription into intensity of its effects measured by mathematical models. In this paper, we present intelligent calculational algorithms on efficacies of prescriptions of chinese Medicine (CM), study "how curative effects of any herb depend on dosage" when constructing CM intelligent systems, and discuss relevant issues and definitions. In order to measure intensities of effects of all herbs reasonably, the natural classification method is proposed to classify herbs into 38 natural classes according to their dosage ranges using the knowledge of CM dosage and distribution rules of herbs. Then the 38 natural classes are clustered to 6 basic classes reflecting characteristic attributes of various herbs. Based on the results of classified herbs, a set of nonlinear measuring functions of intensities of effects is designed for various basic classes. These functions have been embedded in our intelligent calculation system of efficacies of prescriptions. The effects of 560 herbs and curative efficacies of more than 1000 prescriptions derived from "ShangHan Lun", "JinGui YaoLue", "Ming Jia Yi An", etc., have been calculated and discovered successfully. It is proved that the accuracy of theses results by these models has been obviously enhanced.

Some important characteristics of the atmosphere during an adiabatic process are investigated, which include the invariability of atmospheric entropy range and local surface potential temperature, the conservation of the atmospheric mass intervened between any isentropic surface and the ground, and the isentropic surface intersecting with the ground. The analysis shows that the atmospheric reference state (ARS) for investigation on available potential energy (APE) should be defined objectively as the state which could be approached from the existing atmosphere by adiabatic adjustment, and be related to initial atmospheric state before adjustment. For the initial atmosphere state at any time, its corresponding ARS is different from the one at another time. Based on the above-mentioned conclusions, the reference state proposed by Lorenz cannot be obtained physically, so a new conception, the conditional minimum total potential energy, is put forward in order to objectively investigate atmospheric APE.

The effect of self absorption on the ratio of excimer to monochromophore emission intensities, I-e/I-m, has been explored by experimentally changing the solution layer thickness of the emission light path traversed in the solution in the right-angle geometry. The result shows that data obtained by front-face geometry are better than those obtained by right-angle geometry even after correction to zero solution thickness. The correction formula based on geometric optics given by Tsai and Torkelson is not adequate.

The genus Scincella Mittleman,1950,within the family Scincidae,is a diverse group comprising 39 described *** taxonomy of the genus is complex due to morphological similarities among species,which often obscures the true extent of biodiversity,resulting in several undescribed species requiring further *** china,particularly within the unique ecosystems of the Hengduan Mountains,the diversity of Scincella is notably underestimated,with only 12 species currently *** the present study,we describe a new species of the genus Scincella,Scincella liangshanensis ***.,from Sichuan Province,Southwest *** characteristics and phylogenetic analyses revealed that the putative new species is distinct from all other known *** discovery not only expands the known diversity of Scincella but also emphasizes the inadequacies in our current understanding of herpetological diversity in *** addition of this species to the scientific record highlights the necessity for ongoing biodiversity assessments to uncover hidden species and enhance our understanding of the intricate web of life in one of the world’s biodiversity hotspots.

The strategic plan for the development of the unmanned chinese Lunar Exploration Program is characterized by three distinct stages: "orbiting around", "landing on" and "returning from" the Moon. The first chinese lunar probe, Chang'E-1, which was successfully launched on October 24th, 2007 at Xichang Satellite Launch Center, and guided to crash on the Moon on March 1st, 2009, at 52.36°E, 1.50°S, in the north of Mare Fecunditatis, is the first step towards the "orbiting around" stage. The Chang'E-1 mission lasted 495 days, exceeding the expected life-span by about four months. A total of 1.37 TB raw data was received from Chang'E-1. It was then processed into 4 TB scientific data products at various levels. Many scientific results have been obtained by analyzing these data, including especially the "global lunar image from the first chinese lunar explora- tion mission". All scientific goals of Chang'E-1 have been achieved. It provides much useful materials for further advances of lunar sciences and planetary chemistry. Meanwhile, these results will serve as a firm basis for future chinese lunar missions.

Photometric technology,characterized by its compact structure and relatively high stability,finds wide application in measuring airglow *** instrumentation is anticipated to assume a pivotal role as the primary equipment for extensive network observations of middle and upper atmospheric temperatures in china,thereby providing crucial support for space environmental monitoring and atmospheric dynamic ***,susceptibility to various factors such as instrument inconsistency,variability in observation conditions,and alterations in the background atmospheric environment across different stations poses a challenge,potentially resulting in data inconsistencies in network *** response to these challenges,we propose a multiple-parameter iterative inversion(MPII)algorithm for temperature retrieval based on a mesospheric airglow spectrum photometer(MASP)developed by our research *** algorithm accurately identifies the center of the image circle,corrects image distortion,and thereby obtains an accurate synthetic spectrum reflective of actual *** encompasses five adjustable parameters:sky background light,atmospheric temperature,filter temperature,optical system focal length,and degree of synthetic spectrum *** to traditional methods,significant enhancements in the accuracy of the inverted temperature are *** validate the effectiveness of the MPII algorithm,we conducted combined active and passive remote sensing synchronous measurements using MASP in conjunction with a sodium fluorescence Doppler lidar developed by the National Space Science *** utilizing the lidar temperature as a reference,atmospheric background radiation is mitigated from the MASP data,and the temperature is inverted using the MPII *** analysis with the traditional method reveals that temperatures calculated by the MPII algorithm exhibit better consistency than those observed by the lidar.

Silicone rubber (SIR) shows superior performance when used outdoors, but its surface can be transformed from inherently hydrophobic to hydrophilic by the adsorption of contaminants. Al(OH)(3), Al2O3, quartz powder and active carbon were selected as authentic contaminants. Hydrophobicity of the surface was determined using contact angle measurement. The results indicate that the adsorbability of the contaminants can strongly affect the hydrophobicity of contaminated SIR surface. The increasing rate of contact angle of specimens contaminated by Al(OH)(3) was much faster than that by Al2O3 and quartz due to the adsorption of migrated low molecular weight (LMW) polydimethylsiloxanes. Specimens contaminated by active carbon could achieve surface hydrophobicity within 15 min because active carbon has high adsorbability. Surfaces of contaminated ultrapure SIR, polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) and glass remain hydrophilic because they contain no mobile LMW components. The addition of oligomeric polydimethylsiloxanes has little effect on the hydrophobicity of contaminants covered on SIR surface.

High-efficiency electroluminescent devices featuring simplified architecture have received considerable attention due to significant advantages in construction procedures and commercialized ***,there still remains a critical challenge with regard to the lack of organic semiconductors that simultaneously possess high luminescent efficiency and balanced carrier-transporting ***,we design a thermally activated delayed fluorescence(TADF)emitter 4-(9,9-dimethyl-9,10-dihydroacridine)-4′-triphenylphosphineoxide-benzophenone(DMAC-BPTPO)by incorporating triphenylphosphine oxide into the donor–acceptor *** accessional electrontransporting moiety,rod-like dimer,and horizontally packing model synergistically enable DMAC-BP-TPO which possesses an excellent photoluminescence quantum yield of nearly 90%with a reverse intersystem crossing rate constant of 2.0×106 s−1,horizontal dipole ratio of 89%,and a balanced electron and hole mobilities with a small constrast ratio of ***,simplified electroluminescent devices including organic lightemitting diodes(OLEDs)and organic light-emitting transistors(OLETs)incorporating DMAC-BP-TPO-based nondoped film are demonstrated due to their superior integrated optoelectronic properties along with preferable horizontal dipole orientation.A record-high external quantum efficiency value of 21.7%and 4.4%are finally achieved in the simplified nondoped OLED and OLET devices,which are among the highest values in the related research *** work provides a new avenue to develop a high-efficiency bipolar TADF emitter to advance the simplified electroluminescent devices.

Lattice engineering and distortion have been considered one kind of effective strategies for discovering advanced *** instinct chemical flexibility of high-entropy oxides(HEOs)motivates/accelerates to tailor the target properties through phase transformations and lattice ***,a hybrid knowledge-assisted data-driven machine learning(ML)strategy is utilized to discover the A_(2)B_(2)O_(7)-type HEOs with low thermal conductivity(κ)through 17 rare-earth(RE=Sc,Y,La-Lu)solutes optimized A-site.A designing routine integrating the ML and high throughput first principles has been proposed to predict the key physical parameter(KPPs)correlated to the targetedκof advanced *** the smart-designed 6188(5RE_(0.2))_(2)Zr_(2)O_(7)HEOs,the best candidates are addressed and validated by the princi-ples of severe lattice distortion and local phase transformation,which effectively reduceκby the strong multi-phonon scattering and weak interatomic ***,(Sc_(0.2)Y_(0.2)La_(0.2)Ce_(0.2)Pr_(0.2))_(2)Zr_(2)O_(7)with predictedκbelow 1.59 Wm^(−1)K^(−1)is selected to be verified,which matches well with the ex-perimentalκ=1.69 Wm^(−1)K^(−1)at 300 K and could be further decreased to 0.14 Wm^(−1)K^(−1)at 1473 ***,the coupling effects of lattice vibrations and charges on heat transfer are revealed by the cross-validations of various models,indicating that the weak bonds with low electronegativity and few bond-ing charge density and the lattice distortion(r∗)identified by cation radius ratio(r A/r B)should be the KPPs to decreaseκ*** work supports an intelligent designing strategy with limited atomic and electronic KPPs to accelerate the development of advanced multi-component HEOs with proper-ties/performance at multi-scales.
