Vortex beams with orbital angular momentum play a crucial role in increasing the information capacity in optical communications.The magnitude of orbital angular momentum determines the ability of information encoding.In practice,a vortex beam can encounter random objects or turbulence during free-space propagation,resulting in information damage.Therefore,accurately measuring the orbital angular momentum of a randomly fluctuated and obstructed vortex beam is a considerable challenge.Herein,we propose a single-shot method for the phase retrieval of a randomly fluctuated and obstructed vortex beam by combining the phase-shift theorem and self-reference holography.Experimental results reveal that the sign and magnitude of the initial orbital angular momentum can be simultaneously determined based on their quantitative relation with the number of coherence singularities on the observation plane,thus addressing the effects of random occlusion and atmospheric turbulence.The proposed method considerably improved the accurate decoding of orbital angular momentum information in nonideal freespace optical communications.

Plotinus:A Satellite Internet Digital Twin System

The development of space-air-ground integrated networks (SAGIN) requires sophisticated satellite Internet emulation tools that can handle complex, dynamic topologies and offer in-depth analysis. Existing emulation platforms struggle with challenges like the need for detailed implementation across all network layers, real-time response, and scalability. This paper proposes a digital twin system based on microservices for satellite Internet emulation,namely Plotinus,which aims to solve these problems. Plotinus features a modular design, allowing for easy replacement of the physical layer to emulate different aerial vehicles and analyze channel interference. It also enables replacing of path computation methods to simplify testing and deploying algorithms. In particular, Plotinus allows for real-time emulation with live network traffic,enhancing practical network models. The evaluation result shows Plotinus’s effective emulation of dynamic satellite networks with real-world devices. Its adaptability for various communication models and algorithm testing highlights Plotinus’s role as a vital tool for developing and analyzing SAGIN systems, offering a cross-layer,real-time,and scalable digital twin system.

Targeted regeneration and upcycling of spent graphite by defect‐driven tin nucleation

The recycling of spent batteries has become increasingly important owing to their wide applications,abundant raw material supply,and sustainable development.Compared with the degraded cathode,spent anode graphite often has a relatively intact structure with few defects after long cycling.Yet,most spent graphite is simply burned or discarded due to its limited value and inferior performance on using conventional recycling methods that are complex,have low efficiency,and fail in performance restoration.Herein,we propose a fast,efficient,and“intelligent”strategy to regenerate and upcycle spent graphite based on defect‐driven targeted remediation.Using Sn as a nanoscale healant,we used rapid heating(~50 ms)to enable dynamic Sn droplets to automatically nucleate around the surface defects on the graphite upon cooling owing to strong binding to the defects(~5.84 eV/atom),thus simultaneously achieving Sn dispersion and graphite remediation.As a result,the regenerated graphite showed enhanced capacity and cycle stability(458.9 mAh g^(−1) at 0.2 A g^(−1) after 100 cycles),superior to those of commercial graphite.Benefiting from the self‐adaption of Sn dispersion,spent graphite with different degrees of defects can be regenerated to similar structures and performance.EverBatt analysis indicates that targeted regeneration and upcycling have significantly lower energy consumption(~99%reduction)and near‐zero CO2 emission,and yield much higher profit than hydrometallurgy,which opens a new avenue for direct upcycling of spend graphite in an efficient,green,and profitable manner for sustainable battery manufacture.

BACKGROUND Gastric cancer(GC)is a highly aggressive malignancy with a heterogeneous nature,which makes prognosis prediction and treatment determination difficult.Inflammation is now recognized as one of the hallmarks of cancer and plays an important role in the aetiology and continued growth of tumours.Inflammation also affects the prognosis of GC patients.Recent reports suggest that a number of inflammatory-related biomarkers are useful for predicting tumour prognosis.However,the importance of inflammatory-related biomarkers in predicting the prognosis of GC patients is still unclear.AIM To investigate inflammatory-related biomarkers in predicting the prognosis of GC patients.was constructed using the least absolute shrinkage and selection operator Cox regression model based on the GEO database.GC patients from the GSE26253 cohort were used for validation.Univariate and multivariate Cox analyses were used to determine the independent prognostic factors,and a prognostic nomogram was established.The calibration curve and the area under the curve based on receiver operating characteristic analysis were utilized to evaluate the predictive value of the nomogram.The decision curve analysis results were plotted to quantify and assess the clinical value of the nomogram.Gene set enrichment analysis was performed to explore the potential regulatory pathways involved.The relationship between tumour immune infiltration status and risk score was analysed via Tumour Immune Estimation Resource and CIBERSORT.Finally,we analysed the association between risk score and patient sensitivity to commonly used chemotherapy and targeted therapy agents.RESULTS A prognostic model consisting of three inflammatory-related genes(MRPS17,GUF1,and PDK4)was constructed.Independent prognostic analysis revealed that the risk score was a separate prognostic factor in GC patients.According to the risk score,GC patients were stratified into high-and low-risk groups,and patients in the high-risk group had significantly worse prognoses according to age

Developing free-standing and mechanical robust membrane materials capable of superior enrichment of phosphopeptides for analyzing and identifying the specific phosphoproteome of cancer cells is significant in understanding the molecular mechanisms of cancer development and exploring new therapeutic approaches,but still a significant challenge in materials design.To this end,we firstly constructed highly flexible ZrTiO_(4) nanofibrous membranes(NFMs)with excellent mechanical stability through a cost-effective and scalable electrospinning and subsequent calcination technique.Then,to further increase the enrichment capacity of the phosphopeptide,the biomimetic TiO_(2)@ZrTiO_(4) NFMs with root hair or leaf like branch microstructure are developed by the hydrothermal post-synthetic modification of ZrTiO_(4) NFMs through growing unfurling TiO_(2) nanosheets onto the ZrTiO_(4) nanofibers.Importantly,remarkable flexibility and mechanical stability enable the resulting TiO_(2)@ZrTiO_(4) NFMs excellent practicability,while the biomimetic microstructure allows it outstanding enrichment ability of the phosphopeptide and identification ability of the specific phosphoproteins in the digest of cervical cancer cells.Specifically,6770 phosphopeptides can be enriched by TiO_(2)@ZrTiO_(4) NFMs(2205 corresponding phosphoproteins can be identified),and the value is much higher than that of ZrTiO_(4) NFMs(6399 phosphopeptides and 2132 identified phosphoproteins)and commercial high-performance TiO_(2) particles(4525 phosphopeptides and 1811 identified phosphoproteins).These results demonstrate the super ability of TiO_(2)@ZrTiO_(4) NFMs in phosphopeptide enrichment and great potential for exploring the pathogenesis of cancer.

Detection and analysis of landslide geomorphology based on UAV vertical photogrammetry

High-resolution landslide images are required for detailed geomorphological analysis in complex topographic environment with steep and vertical landslide distribution.This study proposed a vertical route planning method for unmanned aerial vehicles(UAVs),which could achieve rapid image collection based on strictly calculated route parameters.The effectiveness of this method was verified using a DJI Mavic 2 Pro,obtaining high-resolution landslide images within the Dongchuan debris flow gully,in the Xiaojiang River Basin,Dongchuan District,Yunnan,China.A three-dimensional(3D)model was constructed by the structure-from-motion and multi-view stereo(SfM-MVS).Micro-geomorphic features were analyzed through visual interpretation,geographic information system(GIS),spatial analysis,and mathematical statistics methods.The results demonstrated that the proposed method could obtain comprehensive vertical information on landslides while improving measurement accuracy.The 3D model was constructed using the vertically oriented flight route to achieve centimeter-level accuracy(horizontal accuracy better than 6 cm,elevation accuracy better than 3 cm,and relative accuracy better than 3.5 cm).The UAV technology could further help understand the micro internal spatial and structural characteristics of landslides,facilitating intuitive acquisition of surface details.The slope of landslide clusters ranged from 36°to 72°,with the majority of the slope facing east and southeast.Upper elevation levels were relatively consistent while middle to lower elevation levels gradually decreased from left to right with significant variations in lower elevation levels.During the rainy season,surface runoff was abundant,and steep topography exacerbated changes in surface features.This route method is suitable for unmanned aerial vehicle(UAV)landslide surveys in complex mountainous environments.The geomorphological analysis methods used will provide references for identifying and describing topographic features.

Prevalence of hypertension and its associations with body composition across Chinese and American children and adolescents

Background The age of onset of hypertension(HTN)is decreasing,and obesity is a significant risk factor.The prevalence and racial disparities in pediatric HTN and the association between body composition and blood pressure are insufficiently studied.This study aimed to evaluate the prevalence of HTN in Chinese and American children and adolescents and to assess the relationship between various body composition indices and HTN.Methods Seven thousand,five hundred and seventy-three Chinese and 6239 American children and adolescents aged 8–18 years from the 2013–2015 China Child and Adolescent Cardiovascular Health study and the 2011–2018 National Health and Nutrition Examination Surveys were analyzed.Blood pressure and body composition(fat and muscle)were measured by trained staff.The crude prevalence and age-standardized prevalence rate(ASPR)of primary HTN and its subtypes[isolated systolic hypertension(ISH)and isolated diastolic hypertension(IDH)]were calculated based on 2017 American Academy of Pediatrics guidelines.Multivariable-adjusted linear regression coefficients and odds ratios(ORs)were calculated to assess the associations of body composition indicators with HTN,ISH and IDH.Results The ASPR of HTN was 18.5%in China(CN)and 4.6%in the United States(US),whereas the obesity prevalence was 7.4%and 18.6%,and the population attributable risk of HTN caused by overweight and obesity was higher in the US than in CN.Increased fat mass,muscle mass and body fat percentage mass were associated with a higher risk of HTN in both countries.The percent of muscle body mass had a protective effect on HTN and ISH in both countries[HTN(CN:OR=0.83,95%CI=0.78–0.88;US:OR=0.72,95%CI=0.64–0.81);ISH(CN:OR=0.87,95%CI=0.80–0.94;US:OR=0.71,95%CI=0.62–0.81)],and the protective effect was more common among children and adolescents with high levels of physical activity.Conclusions The burden of HTN in Chinese children and adolescents was substantial and much greater than that in the US,and the contribution of obesity to HTN was higher in t

The deep earth,deep sea,and deep space are the main parts of the national“three deep”strategy,which is in the forefront of the strategic deployment clearly defined in China’s 14th Five-Year Plan(2021-2025)and the Long-Range Objectives Through the Year 2035.It is important to reveal the evolutionary process and mechanism of deep tectonics to understand the earth’s past,present and future.The academic con-notation of Geology in Time has been given for the first time,which refers to the multi-field evolution response process of geological bodies at different time and spatial scales caused by geological processes inside and outside the Earth.Based on the deep in situ detection space and the unique geological envi-ronment of China Jinping Underground Laboratory,the scientific issue of the correlation mechanism and law between deep internal time-varying and shallow geological response is given attention.Innovative research and frontier exploration on deep underground in situ geo-information detection experiments for Geology in Time are designed to be carried out,which will have the potential to explore the driving force of Geology in Time,reveal essential laws of deep earth science,and explore innovative technologies in deep underground engineering.

The optimizing utilization of ca rbon resources has drawn wide attention all over the world,while exploiting the high-efficiency catalytic routes remains a challenge.Here,a direct methanol synthesis route is realized from pure CO and H_(2)O over 10%Cu/t-ZrO_(2) catalyst,where the time yield of methanol is144.43 mmol mol_(Cu)^(-1)h^(-1)and the methanol selectivity in hydrocarbons is 100%,The Cu species highly dispersed in the t-ZrO_(2) support lead parts of them in the cationic state.The Cu^(+)sites contribute to the dissociation of H_(2)O,providing the H*source for methanol synthesis,while the formed Cu^(0) sites promote the absorption and transfer of H*during the reaction.Moreover,the H_(2)O is even a better H resource than H_(2) due to its better dissociation effectivity in this catalytic system.The present work offers a new approach for methanol synthesis from CO and new insight into the process of supplying H donor.
