The highly reversible insertion/extraction of large-radius K^+into electrode materials remains a tough goal,especially for con version-type ***,we design a current collector-integrated electrode(N-CoSe/CoSe_(2.-C@Cu) as an advanced anode for potassium-ion battery(PIBs).The conductive CoSe/CoSe_(2. heterojunction with rich Se vacancy defects,conductive sp^2.N-doped carbon layer,and the elastic copper foil matrix can greatly accelerate the electron transfer and enhance the structural ***,the well-designed N-CoSe/CoSe_(2.-C@Cu current collector-integrated electrode displays enhanced potassium storage performance with regard to a high capacity(32..1 mAh·g^(-1) at 0.1 A·g^(-1) after 2.0cycles),an exceptional rate capability(2.3.5 mAh·g^(-1) at2.00 mA·g^(-1)),and an extraordinary long-term cycle stability(a capacity fading of only 0.019% per cycle over12.0 cycles at 2.00 mA·g^(-1)).Impressively,ex situ scanning electron microscopy(SEM) characterizations prove that the elastic structure of copper foil is merged into the cleverly designed N-CoSe/CoSe_(2.-C@Cu heterostructure,which buffers the deformation of structure and volume and greatly promotes the cycle life during the potassium/depotassium process.

li-CO_(2.batteries are among the most intriguing techniques for balancing the carbon cycle,but are challenged by the annoyed thermodynamic barrier of the li_(2.CO_(3)decomposition ***,we demonstrate the electrocatalytic performances of two-dimensional(2.)CoAl-layer double hydroxide(LDH)nanosheets can be significantly improved by trans-dimensional crosslinking with three-dimensional(3D)multilevel nanoporous(MP)-RuCoAl alloy(MP-RuCoAl alloy⊥CoAl-LDH).The MP-RuCoAl alloy⊥CoAl-LDH with multiscale pore channels and abundant nano-heterointerface is directly prepared by controllable etching Al from a Ru-Co-Al master alloy along with simultaneous partial oxidization of Al and Co *** MP-RuCoAl is composed of various intermetallic compounds and Ru with abundant grain boundaries,and forms numerous heterointerface with 2. CoAl-LDH *** multiscale porous metallic network benefits mass and electron transportation as well as discharge product storage and enables a rich multiphase reaction *** situ differential electrochemical mass spectrometry shows that the mass-to-charge ratio in the charging{2. is~0.733 which is consistent with the theoretical value of 3/4,stating that the reversible co-decomposition of li_(2.CO_(3)and C can be achieved with the MP-RuCoAl alloy⊥*** Ketjen black(KB)/MP-RuCoAl⊥CoAl-LDH battery demonstrates a high cyclability for over 2.70 h(2.7 cycles)with a lower voltage gap stabilized at~1.3 V at 2.0 mA·g^(−1).Our findings here provide useful guidelines for developing high efficiency transition metal based electrocatalysts by coupling with conductive porous substrate for impelling the development of practical li-CO_(2.battery systems.

Quantum heat engines and refrigerators are open quantum systems,whose dynamics can be well understood using a non-Hermitian formalism.A prominent feature of non-Hermiticity is the existence of exceptional points(EPs),which has no counterpart in closed quantum *** has been shown in classical systems that dynamical encirclement in the vicinity of an EP,whether the loop includes the EP or not,could lead to chiral mode ***,we show that this is valid also for quantum systems when dynamical encircling is performed in the vicinity of their liouvillian EPs(LEPs),which include the effects of quantum jumps and associated noise—an important quantum feature not present in previous *** demonstrate,using a Paul-trapped ultracold ion,the first chiral quantum heating and refrigeration by dynamically encircling a closed loop in the vicinity of an *** witness the cycling direction to be associated with the chirality and heat release(absorption)of the quantum heat engine(quantum refrigerator).Our experiments have revealed that not only the adiabaticity breakdown but also the Landau–Zener–Stückelberg process play an essential role during dynamic encircling,resulting in chiral thermodynamic *** observations contribute to further understanding of chiral and topological features in non-Hermitian systems and pave a way to exploring the relation between chirality and quantum thermodynamics.

Incorrect folding of proteins in the macromolecular crowding environment in living cells would cause cellular disasters. All cells have developed their structurally and functionally distinct classes of molecular chaperones to help normative proteins fold to their native structures, one of which is the most studied GroEliES complex. In the present article, large-scale all-atom explicit solvent molecular dynamics （MD） simulations have been carried out on rhodanese folding in a series of chaperonin mutants for 2.0ns to understand the mechanism therein. In accordance with experimental results, two factors have been identified to play a significant role, the geometrical confinement effect of the folding cavity and the charge effect of the inner surface of the cavity. Our analysis of the properties during simulation suggests that the GroEL/ES complex directly exerts force on the contacting residues of the substrate, thus assists substrate folding.

Chaperonins are known to facilitate the productive folding of numerous misfolded proteins. Despite their established importance, the mechanism of chaperonin-assisted protein folding remains unknown. In the present article, all-atom explicit solvent molecular dynamics （MD） simulations have been performed for the first time on rhodanese folding in a series of cavity-size and cavity-charge chaperonin mutants. A compromise between stability and flexibility of chaperonin structure during the substrate folding has been observed and the key factors affecting this dynamic process are discussed.
