Corrosion fatigue behavior of Alloy 52/52 M dissimilar metal weld(DMW)was investigated in borated and lithiated high-temperature *** fatigue life of Alloy 52/52 M DMW in high-temperature water decreased in comparison with that in *** fatigue cracks initiated at Alloy 52 M butt weld or at the interface of Alloy 52 buttering and Alloy 52 M butt *** welding residual strain and ductility dip cracking in Alloy 52 M butt weld promoted the initiation and propagation of fatigue *** environmentally assisted fatigue damage in high-temperature water is discussed by taking account of microstructure defects.

Passive sampling technology has good application prospects for monitoring trace pollutants in aquatic *** research on the sampling mechanism of this technology is essential to improve the measurement accuracy and extend the application scope of this *** this study,adsorption and permeation experiments were performed to investigate the sorption and mass transfer properties of five chiral pharmaceuticals at the enantiomeric level on polyethersulfone(PES)and polytetrafluoroethylene(PTFE)membranes used in a polar organic chemical integrative *** adsorption experiments showed that the PES membrane had an adsorption phenomenon for most selected pollutants and an insignificant sorption behavior was observed for all selected pharmaceuticals on the PTFE membrane except for R(S)-*** diffusion coefficients of selected pharmaceuticals onto the PTFE membrane were approximately one order of magnitude higher than those onto the PES *** permeation experiment indicated that under different hydraulic conditions,the change of the relative pollutant concentration through the PTFE membrane for the composite pollutant system was more obvious than that for the single pollutant system,and mass transfer hysteresis exists for both contaminant systems through PES *** the first-order equation or 3-component model to estimate the overall mass transfer coefficients,the results showed that the overall mass transfer coefficient values of pollutants in the composite pollutant system onto both membranes were higher than those in the single pollutant *** parameter was mainly influenced by the synergistic effects of the multi-analyte interaction and diminished water boundary layers during the mass transfer process.

Photocatalytic CO_(2)reduction driven by green solar energy could be a promising approach for the carbon neutral *** this work,a novel defect engineering approach was developed to form the Sn_(x)Nb_(1-x)O_(2)solid solution by the heavy substitutional Nb-doping of SnO_(2)through a robust hydrothermal *** detailed analysis demonstrated that the heavy substitution of Sn^(4+)by a higher valence Nb^(5+)created a more suitable band structure,a better photogenerated charge carrier separation and transfer,and stronger CO_(2)adsorption due to the presence of abundant acid centers and excess electrons on its ***,the Sn_(x)Nb_(1-x)O_(2)solid solution sample demonstrated a much better photocatalytic CO_(2)reduction performance compared to the pristine SnO_(2)sample without the need for sacrificial *** photocatalytic CO_(2)reduction efficiency reached~292.47μmol/(g·h),which was 19 times that of the pristine SnO_(2)***,its main photocatalytic CO_(2)reduction product was a more preferred multi-carbon(C_(2+))compound of C_(2)H_(5)OH,while that of the pristine SnO_(2)sample was a one-carbon(C1)compound of CH_(3)*** work demonstrated that,the heavy doping of high valence cations in metal oxides to form solid solution may enhance the photocatalytic CO_(2)reduction and modulate its reduction process,to produce more C_(2+)*** material design strategy could be readily applied to various material systems for the exploration of high-performance photocatalysts for the solar-driven CO_(2)reduction.

To reduce the friction coefficient of cobalt-cemented tungsten carbide(WC–12Co)wear-resistant coatings,graphene was compounded into WC–12Co powder via wet ball milling and spray *** and wear-resistant graphene coatings were prepared via detonation gun *** presence,morphologies,and phase compositions of graphene in the powders and coatings that are obtained through different powder preparation processes were *** analysis was performed using the following technologies:energy-dispersive X-ray-spectroscopy(EDXS),scanning electron microscopy(SEM),transmission electron microscopy(TEM),and Raman *** mechanical properties of the coatings were studied using a microhardness tester and a universal drawing *** friction and wear properties of the coatings were studied using an SRV-4 friction and wear *** results showed that the graphene content in the WC–12Co coating modified with graphene was higher than that without modification;graphene was embedded in the structure in a transparent and thin-layer *** adhesive strength of this coating at approximately 25°C was approximately 60.33 MPa,and the hardness was approximately 984 *** high-temperature treatment,the adhesive strength and hardness of the graphene oxide(GO)/WC–12Co coating decreased slightly(the lowest adhesive strength of 53.16 MPa was observed after treatment at 400°C,and the lowest hardness of approximately 837 HV0.3 was observed after treatment at 300°C).Compared to the friction coefficient(0.6)of the WC–12Co coating obtained at room temperature,the friction coefficient of the GO/WC–12Co coating was decreased by approximately 50%of that *** graphene-modified coating was continuously exposed to the wear tracks on the surface of the contacting materials during friction,and a lubricating film was formed in the microareas in which the wear tracks were *** coating exhibited improved self-lubricating and wear-resistant effects

Excessive consumption of refined grains harms human health and ecosystem *** grains,as a healthy and sustainable alternative to refined grains,can benefit individual health by providing dietary fiber,B vitamins,and bioactive ***,they aid in improving the environment due to their higher extraction rate and lower carbon emission during the processing ***,few studies have attempted to evaluate the economic and social benefits of increasing the amount of whole grain in grain *** paper estimates the potential savings in healthcare costs and reduced food carbon footprints(CFs)that could result from a shift toward whole grain consumption following the Chinese Dietary Guidelines(CDG).We investigate hypothetical scenarios where a certain proportion(5–100%)of Chinese adults could increase their whole grain intakes as proposed by CDG to meet the average shortfall of 30.2 *** that case,the healthcare costs for associated diseases(e.g.,type2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM),cardiovascular disease(CVD),and colorectal cancer(CRC))are expected to reduce by a substantial amount,from USD 2.82 to 56.37 billion;the carbon emission levels are also projected to decrease by0.24–5.72 million *** study provides compelling evidence that advocating for the transition towards greater consumption of whole grain products could benefit individual health,the environment,and society,by reducing both healthcare costs and carbon emissions.

Gas-solid fluidized bed separation is a highly efficient and clean technique for coal separation,and can effectively remove ash and sulfur contained gangue minerals from ***,the fine coal plugging distributor often leads to uneven fluidization and affects the separation *** this paper,different plugging ways were designed to study their effects on the fluidization characteristics and particle *** was found that when the plugging phenomenon occurs,the minimum fluidization velocity of the fluidized bed gradually decreases as the plugging area *** difference between the top and the bottom of the bed minimum fluidization velocity increases accordingly,and a“stagnation phenomenon”occurs in the *** standard deviation of pressure fluctuations at the top of the bed is smaller than that at the bottom of the bed,which is the opposite of normal *** the area of the plugging increases,the dead zone on the side wall of the fluidized bed significantly *** size of the dead zone is rapid reducing at the initial *** was noticed that the stratification of the low-density products is particularly affected by plugging,whereas the stratification of high-density products is not obviously influenced by certain conditions.

Lithium metal anode is almost the ultimate choice for high-energy density rechargeable batteries, but its uneven electrochemical dissolution-deposition characteristics lead to poor cycle stability and lithium dendrites safety problems. The fundamental solution to the problems is to interfere electrodeposition process of lithium metal so that it can be carried out reversibly and stably. In this work, an inverse-opal structured TiO2membrane with a thickness of only ~1 μm is designed to regulate the electrodeposition behavior of lithium metal, in which the ordered channels homogenize mass transfer process, the anatase TiO_(2)walls of the ion channels reduce desolvation barrier of solvated lithium-ions, and the spherical cavities with a diameter of ~300 nm confine migration of the adsorbed lithium atoms during electrocrystallization to diminish overpotential of lithium. These systematic effects cover and essentially change the whole process of electrodeposition of lithium metal and eliminate the possibility of lithium dendrite formation. The as-obtained lithium metal electrode delivers a Coulombic efficiency of 99.86% in the 100th cycle, and maintains a low deposition overpotential of 0.01 V for 800 h.
