In countries like Argentina,whose econom. depends heavily on crop production,the estim.tion of harvests is an elem.ntary *** providing objectivity,the use of rem.te sensing allows estim.ting yield in *** the tim. of m.xim.m.leaf area in wheat corresponds with the critical period of the crop,a good relationship is expected between the norm.lized Difference Vegetation Index(nDVI)and *** present study was carried out in the north of Buenos Aires province,*** on the type of soil,the study area can be divided into two hom.geneous subzones:a subzone with lower clay content in the southwestand a subzone with higher clay content in the *** growing seasons(2003–2011)were *** the first five years,an em.irical m.del was calibrated and validated with field-observed wheat yields and m.D13q1 product-nDVI data,whereas in the other four years,the calibrated m.del was applied by m.ans of yield m.ps and by com.aring with official *** m.D13q1 im.ge corresponding to Julian day 289 showed the best fit between nDVI and yield to estim.te wheat yield *** yield m.ps,better weather conditions showedhigher yields and higher soil productivity presented a greater proportion of the area occupied by higher *** departm.nt level,an R2 value of 0.75 was found after relating the estim.tion of the calibrated em.irical m.del with official *** m.thod used allows predicting wheat yield 30 days before *** yield m.ps,the nDVI perceived the tem.oral and spatial variability in the study area.

Hem.rrhagic com.lications related to bone m.rrow aspiration and trephine biopsy are uncom.on. Risk factors include throm.ocytopenia, m.eloproliferative disorders, concurrent use of anticoagulants, and obesity. Here we describe our technique for bone m.rrow aspiration and biopsy of the posterior iliac crest using CT guidance. Our technique ensures needle passage only through subcutaneous fat and bone, avoiding m.scle and neurovascular structures, as well as controlled and precise needle advancem.nt within bone. This technique should be considered for use in patients that are at increased risk for procedure related com.lications, particularly obese patients, where surface anatom.cal landm.rks m.y prove unreliable.

AIm.To study the association between exposure toSalm.nella enterica(SE)and Crohn’s disease(CD)and its clinical im.lications in Chilean ***:ninety-four unrelated Chilean CD patients from.CAREI(Active Cohort Registry of Inflam.atory Bowel Disease)presenting to a single inflam.atory bowel disease(IBD)unit of a University Hospital were prospectively included in this study.A com.lete clinical evaluation,including sm.king history,was perform.d at the initial visit,and all the im.ortant data of clinical evolution of CD were *** sam.les from.these CD patients and 88 healthy sex-and agem.tched control subjects were analyzed for exposure to SE and for their nOD2/CARD15 gene status using the presence of anti-Salm.nella lipopolysaccharide antibodies[im.unoglobulin-G type(IgG)]and polym.rase chain reaction(PCR),*** also evaluated exposure to SE in 90 sex-and age-m.tched patients without CD,but with known sm.king status(30 sm.kers,30 non-sm.kers,and 30 form.r sm.kers).RESULTS:CD patients com.rised 54 fem.les and 40m.les,aged 35.5±15.2 years at diagnosis with a m.an follow-up of 9.0±6.8 *** was inflam.atory in 59 patients(62.7%),stricturing in 24(25.5%)and penetrating in 15(15.5%).Thirty cases(31.9%)had lesions in the ileum.29(30.8%)had ileocolonic lesions,32(34.0%)had colonic lesions and 23(24.4%)had perianal *** CD patients(17%)were exposed to SE com.ared to 15(17%)of 88 healthy control subjects(P=0.8).Thirty-one CD patients(32.9%)were sm.kers,and 7(7.4%)were form.r sm.kers at *** the group exposed to SE,10 of 16 patients(62.5%)were active sm.kers com.ared to 21 of 78 patients(26.9%)in the unexposed group(P=0.01).On the other hand,10 of 31 sm.king patients(32%)were exposed to SE com.ared to 5 of 56 nonsm.king patients(9%),and one of the seven form.r sm.kers(14%)(P=0.01).In the group of 90 patients without CD,but whose sm.king status was known,there was no differ-ence in exposure to SE[3 of 30 sm.kers(10%),5 of30 non-s

Eosinophilic esophagitis is an im.une-allergic pathology of m.ltifactorial etiology(genetic and environm.ntal)that affects both pediatric and adult *** sym.tom.,which include heartburn,regurgitation,and esophageal stenosis(with dysphagia being m.re frequent in eosinophilic esophagitis in young adults and children),are sim.lar to those of gastroesophageal reflux disease,causing delays in diagnosis and *** endoscopic findings such as furrows,esophageal m.cosa trachealization,and whitish exudates m.y suggest its presence,this diagnosis should be confirm.d histologically based on the presence of m.re than 15 eosinophils per high-power field and the exclusion of other causes of eosinophilia(parasitic infections,hypereosinophilic syndrom.,inflam.atory bowel disease,am.ng others)for which treatm.nt could be ***,the 3“D”s(“Drugs,Diet,and Dilation”)are considered the fundam.ntal com.onents of *** first 2 com.onents,which involve the use of proton pum. inhibitors,corticosteroids,im.unosuppressants and em.irical diets or guided food elim.nation based on allergy tests,are m.re useful in the initial phases,whereas endoscopic dilation is reserved for esophageal ***,the m.st im.ortant aspects of eosinophilic esophagitis pathophysiology will be reviewed,in addition to evidence for the various treatm.nts.

Reliability of enzym. assays in dried blood spots for diagnosis of 4 lysosom.l storage disorders

Introduction: Lysosom.l storage disorders (LSD) are inherited diseases caused, in the m.jority of them. by the deficiency of lysosom.l enzym.tic activities. Ob-jectives: We aim.d to analyze the usefulness of DBS sam.les for diagnosis of 4 LSDs, with the availability of a large quantity of patient sam.les. Design and m.thods: Blood sam.les from.previously diagnosed patients with Fabry, Gaucher, Hunter, and m.ro-teaux-Lam. syndrom.s and norm.l control individ-uals, were collected and dispen-sed in filter paper, and used for enzym.tic activity determ.nation. Results: Diagnosis of hem./hom.-zygous patients with Fabry, Hunter and m.roteaux-Lam. diseases using DBS sam.les showed ideal param.ters of 100% sensitivity and specificity. DBS assay for Gaucher disease would need a posterior confirm.tory step. Conclusions: Leukocyte m.asu-rem.nt is the only reliable way to diagnose Gaucher disease. For Hunter, Fabry and m.roteaux-Lam. disorders discrim.nation between patients and controls seem. adequate by DBS.

The m.in aim.of this paper is to study whether the Grom.v hyperbolicity is preserved under som. transform.tions on Riem.nn surfaces （with their Poincare m.trics）. We prove that quasiconform.l m.ps between Riem.nn surfaces preserve hyperbolicity; however, we also show that arbitrary twists along sim.le closed geodesics do not preserve it, in general.
