Antifungal properties and mechanisms of three volatile aldehydes(octanal,nonanal and decanal)on Aspergillus flavus

The harmof Aspergillus flavus(***)and aflatoxin is a severe food safety problemworldwide,which causes huge economic losses every ***,it is urgent to control the growth of *** and the biosynthesis of ***-derived natural compounds are superior to synthetic fungicide in inhibiting the growth of *** benefiting from their high safety to the environment,humans and stock,and low *** study aimed to evaluate the antifungal effects and potential antifungal mechanisms of three plant-derived compounds(octanal,nonanal and decanal)against *** determined the minimum inhibitory concentrations(MICs)and action mechanism of the three volatile aldehydes on *** and also performed calcofluor white(CW)staining for visualizing the distribution of *** respiration metabolism and the pathogenicity on maize kernels were also carried out to evaluate the efficacy of the three volatile aldehydes on the growth of *** results showed that the three volatile aldehydes could inhibit the germination of spores and mycelial growth of ***,the MICs on spores and mycelia were:octanal(1.0 and 0.5μL/mL),nonanal(0.5 and 2.0μL/mL),and decanal(1 and 5μL/mL).The three volatile aldehydes could strongly damage the integrity of both the cell wall and the cell membrane of ***,they could decrease the content of total lipid and inhibit respiration metabolism of *** *** of in vitro antifungal test showed that all the three volatile aldehydes could effectively prevent the growth of *** on maize *** study revealed that octanal,nonanal and decanal could effectively inhibit the growth of *** both in culture medium and on maize kernels to different *** results confirmed that the plant-derived compounds could be developed into promising antifungal agents applied in the preservation of *** study provides a theoretical basis for the research and application of potential antifungal agents.

Multi-place nonlocal systems have attracted attention from many *** this paper,we mainly review the recent progresses on two-place nonlocal systems(Alice-Bob systems)and four-place nonlocal ***-place systems can firstly be derived from many physical problems by using a multiple scaling method with a discrete symmetry group including parity,time reversal,charge conjugates,rotations,field reversal and exchange *** nonlocal systems can also be derived from the symmetry reductions of coupled nonlinear systems via discrete symmetry *** the other hand,to solve multi-place nonlocal systems,one can use the symmetry-antisymmetry separation approach related to a suitable discrete symmetry group,such that the separated systems are coupled local *** using the separation method,all the known powerful methods used in local systems can be applied to nonlocal *** this review article,we take two-place and four-place nonlocal nonlinear Schr?dinger(NLS)systems and Kadomtsev-Petviashvili(KP)equations as simple examples to explain how to derive and solve *** types of novel physical and mathematical points related to the nonlocal systems are especially emphasized.

We obtain the chemical abundances of six barium stars and two CH subgiant stars based on the high signal-to-noise ratio and high resolution EcheUe spectra. The neu-Iron capture process elements y, Zr, Ba, La and Eu show obvious overabundances relative to the Sun, for example, their [Ba/Fe] values are from 0.45 to 1.27. Other elements, including Na, Mg, A1, Si, Ca, Sc, Ti, V, Cr, Mn and Ni, show comparable abundances to the Solar ones, and their [Fe/H] covers a range from -0.40 to 0.21, which means they belong to the galactic disk. The predictions of the theoretical model of wind accretion for binary systems can explain the observed abundance patterns of the neutron capture process elements in these stars, which means that their overabundant heavy-elements could be caused by accreting the ejecta of AgB stars, the progenitors of present-day white dwarf companions in binary systems.

Effect of Hydrogen on Cryogenic Mechanical Properties of Cr-Ni-Mn-N Austenitic Steels

The method of high-pressure hydrogen charging was used to investigate the internal hydrogen effects on cryogenic mechanical properties of two Cr-Ni-Mn-N austenitic steels, 22-13-5 and 21-6-9. Specimens saturated with hydrogen up to 65 multiplied by 10** minus **6-68 multiplied by 10** minus **6 were tested in air at temperatures ranging from 77 to 293 K. Hydrogen causes the increases in cryogenic strength, both yield strength and ultimate tensile strength. Hydrogen decreases cryogenic ductility, and the maximum hydrogen embrittlement tendency was found at a certain low temperature. Cr-Ni-Mn-N austenitic steels show the feature: delta //L greater than phi //L at low temperatures, here, delta //L and phi //L are the hydrogen induced loss rates of elongation and reduction of area, respectively. Hydrogen has less effect on cryogenic Charpy impact toughness and notched tensile strength, however, hydrogen decreases cryogenic fracture toughness of the steels. At temperature below M//d, the fracture toughness is obviously decreased due to the formation of strain-induced marten-sites, whether hydrogen is charged or not. (Edited author abstract) 7 Refs.

The microstructure, size, elemental composition and hardness of the surface eutectic layer formed during directional solidification of a Ni-based single crystal superalloy were studied. The formation mechanisms of the surface eutectic on the outer surface of the casting were also discussed. The metal/mould interactions did not play any role in the formation of the surface eutectic. The formation cause of surface eutectic layer was attributed to the interdendritic residual liquid for excretion caused by solidi？cation shrinkage.

The Hansen solubility parameters(HSP)are frequently used for solvent selection and characterization of polymers,and are directly related to the suspension behavior of pigments in solvent *** performance of currently available group contribution(gC)methods for HSP were evaluated and found to be insufficient for computer-aided product design(CAPD)of paints and coatings.A revised and,for this purpose,improved gC method is presented for estimating HSP of organic compounds,intended for organic *** to the significant limitations of gC methods,an uncertainty analysis and parameter confidence intervals are provided in order to better quantify the estimation accuracy of the proposed *** to other applicable gC methods,the prediction error is reduced significantly with average absolute errors of 0.45 MPa^(1/2),1.35 MPa^(1/2),and 1.09 MPa^(1/2) for the partial dispersion(δD),polar(δP)and hydrogen-bonding(δH)solubility parameters respectively for a database of 1106 *** performance for organic pigments is comparable to the overall method performance,with higher average errors forδD and lower average errors forδP andδH.

We review the recent theoretical study on the optical properties of one-dimensional soft photonic crystals (1D SPCs) with ferrofluids. The proposed structure is composed of alternating ferrofluid layers and dielectric layers. For the ferrofluid, single domain ferromagnetic nanoparticles can align to a chain under the stimuli of an external magnetic field, thus changing the microstructure of the system. Meanwhile, nonlinear optical responses in ferrofluids are also briefly reviewed.

Co-base refractory alloy coating was prepared on carbon steel substrate by cold spray technology; microstructure and nano-mechenieal property were examined by scanning electron microscope （SEM） and nano indenter individually. The results showed that about 250 μm Co-base refractory alloy coating could be deposited o11 steel substrate by cold spray technique, interface between coating and substrate was combined well, and the refractory alloy particle had a significant plastic deformation during deposition process; mixing Ni powders into Co-base refractory alloy powders could increase the density and decrease the nano-hardness of coating, the nano-hardness and elastic modulus of refractory alloy coating was higher than 6 gPa and 160 gPa, respectively.
