Metabolic syndrome is a cluster of several clinical conditions characterized by insulin-resistance and high cardiovascular risk. non-alcoholic fatty liver disease is the liver expression of the metabolic syndrome, and insulin resistance can be a frequent comorbidity in several chronic liver diseases, in particular hepatitis C virus infection and/or cirrhosis. Several studies have demonstrated that insulin action is not only relevant for glucose control, but also for vascular homeostasis. Insulin regulates nitric oxide production, which mediates to a large degree the vasodilating, antiinflammatory and antithrombotic properties of a healthy endothelium, guaranteeing organ perfusion. The effects of insulin on the liver microvasculature and the effects of IR on sinusoidal endothelial cells have been studied in animal models of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. The hypotheses derived from these studies and the potential translation of these results into humans are critically discussed in this review.

Similarly to other Latin American countries, urban air quality is a major concern in Colombia. The purpose of the present study was to explore citizens’ perception on local air pollution, its causes and impacts. A questionnaire was individually applied to a sample of 994 participants. Relationships between demographic features and the perception on air quality were analyzed using a logistic regression, its odds ratio (OR), and a Chi-square test. Eighty percent of the respondents perceive their local air quality as either bad or fair, 65% recognize particulate matter as the main local air pollutant, and 90% recognize negative impacts on people’s health as the main consequence of air pollution. In contrast to other studies where age and economic status are variables highly related with public perception on the level of atmospheric pollution, in this study only the size of the cities has a statistically significant relationship with the perception on local air quality regarding the level of pollution(OR ≥ 1, confidence intervals > 1 and p-values ning and infrastructure construction are identified as the main sources of pollutant emissions in small towns (less than 50,000 inhabitants), in big cities, road traffic is identified as the main source contributor to atmospheric pollution. Opposite to data from official reports, and regardless of the size of the city, households are perceived as the place with greatest contribution to personal air pollution exposure. Results show that citizens are aware of the state of air quality and its health impact is a major concern. Such findings suggest people’s opinions can be used as provisional indicators in cities without data, as well as to monitor the results of local air quality management. As a complementary process, or at the same level of importance given to technical-based policy, citizen participation can contribute to a collective construction of urban air pollution control strategies.

This paper presents the neutron energy spectrum in the central position of a neutron flux trap assembled in the core center of the research nuclear reactor IPEn/MB-01, obtained by an unfolding method. To this end, we have used several different types of activation foils （Au, Sc, Ti, ni, and plates） which have been irradiated in the central position of the reactor core （setting number 203） at a reactor power level （64.57±2.91 watts）. The activation foils were counted by solid-state detector HPge （high pure germanium detector）（gamma spectrometry）. The experimental data of nuclear reaction rates （saturated activity per target nucleus） and a neutron spectrum estimated by a reactor physics computer code are the main input data to get the most suitable neutron spectrum in the irradiation position obtained through SAnDBP （spectrum analysis neutron detection code-version Budapest University） code： a neutron spectra unfolding code that uses an iterative adjustment method. the integral neutron flux, （2.41 ± 0.01） × 10^9 n·cm^-2·s^-1 for the thermal The adjustment resulted in （3.85 ± 0.14） × 10^9 n·cm^-2·s^-1 for neutron flux, （1.09 ±0.02） × 10^9n·cm^-2·s^-1 for intermediate neutron flux and （3.41 ± 0.02） × 10^8 n·cm^-2·s^-1 for the fast neutrons flux. These results can be used to verify and validate the nuclear reactor codes and its associated nuclear data libraries, besides, show how much effective it can be that the use of a neutron flux trap in the nuclear reactor core to increase the thermal neutron flux without increase the operation reactor power level. The thermal neutral flux increased 4.04 ± 0.21 times compared with the standard configuration of the reactor core.

AIM: To determine variations in colonoscopy real-time insertion pain among investigators using three different insertion ***: From March 2013 through June 2014, 18-85-year-old diagnostic and 50-70-year-old screening patients were enrolled at each center to on-demand sedation colonoscopy with water exchange(WE), water immersion(WI) and insufflation with air or CO2 for insertion and withdrawal [air or carbon dioxide(AICD)]. Data were aggregated for analysis. Primary outcome: Variations in real-time maximum insertion pain(0 = none, 1-2 = discomfort, 10 = worst).RESULTS: One thousand and ninety-one cases analyzed: WE(n = 371); WI(n = 338); AICD(n = 382). Demographics and indications were comparable. The WE group had the lowest real-time maximum insertion pain score, mean(95%CI): WE 2.8(2.6-3.0), WI 3.8(3.5-4.1) and AICD 4.4(4.1-4.7), P ninety percent of the colonoscopists were able to use water exchange to significantly decrease maximum insertion pain scores. One investigator had high insertion pain in all groups, nonetheless WE achieved the lowest real-time maximum insertion pain score. WE had the highest proportions of patients with painless unsedated colonoscopy(vs WI, P = 0.013; vs AICD, P nsedated colonoscopy with only minor discomfort(vs AICD, P nd completion without sedation(vs AICD, P nCLUSIOn: Aggregate data confirm superiority of WE in lowering colonoscopy real-time maximum insertion pain and need for sedation. ninety percent of investigators were able to use water exchange to significantly decrease maximum insertion pain scores. Our results suggest that the technique deserves consideration in a broader scale.

结晶型砷酸镍的溶解性用溶液中的ni和As的浓度来表征.TCLP实验结果表明ni和As在溶液中的浓度随着实验重复次数的增加而显著降低,说明自制结晶型砷酸镍中含有部分非晶态物质.长期溶解性实验证明结晶型砷酸镍的溶解在15d后达到平衡,并且随着pH值升高溶液中ni和As浓度降低,在pH9时达到最低的48mg.L-1As和0.2mg.L-1ni,砷酸镍中的As和ni在pH3和pH4时按分子式理论值n(ni)∶n(As)=1.5同步溶解,而由于ni(OH)2的生成,在高pH值溶液中的n(ni)∶n(As)远低于理论值1.5.实验结果表明本研究合成的结晶型砷酸镍比nishi mura等的更稳定,具有更低的溶解性.
