Natural killer(NK)cells are innate lymphoid cells endowed with cytolytic activity and a capacity to secrete cytokines and *** lines of evidence suggest that NK cells play an important role in anti-tumor *** therapies against hematological malignacies make use of the immune properties of NK cells,such as their ability to kill residual leukemic blasts efficiently after conditioning during haploidentical hematopoietic stem cell ***,knowledge on NK cell infiltration and the status of NK cell responsiveness in solid tumors is limited so *** pro-angiogenic role of the recently described NK cell-like type 1 innate lymphoid cells(ILC1s)and their phenotypic resemblance to NK cells are confounding factors that add a level of complexity,at least in ***,we review the current knowledge on the presence and function of NK cells in solid tumors as well as the immunotherapeutic approaches designed to harness NK cell functions in these conditions,including those that aim to reinforce conventional anti-tumor therapies to increase the chances of successful treatment.

A small 4-channel time-delayed complex perceptron is used as a silicon photonic neural network(PNN)device to compensate for chromatic dispersion in optical fiber *** PNN device is experimentally tested with nonreturn-to-zero optical signals at 10 gbps after propagation through up to 125 km optical fiber *** the learning phase,a separation-loss function is optimized in order to maximally separate the transmitted levels of 0s from the 1s,which implies an optimization of the *** of the PNN device shows that the excess losses introduced by the PNN device are compensated by the gain in the transmitted signal equalization for a link longer than 100 *** measured data are reproduced by a model that accounts for the optical link and the PNN *** allows simulating the network performances for higher data rates,where the device shows improvement with respect to the benchmark both in terms of performance and ease of use.

The search fo r reliable and easily accessible biomarkers in Parkinson's disease is receiving a growing emphasis,to detect neurodegeneration from the prodromal phase and to enforce disease-modifying *** the need for non-invasively accessible biomarke rs,the majo rity of the studies have pointed to cerebrospinal fluid or peripheral biopsies biomarkers,which require invasive collection *** represents an easily accessible biofluid and an incredibly wide source of molecular *** the present study,after presenting the morphological and biological bases for looking at saliva in the search of biomarkers for Parkinson's disease,we systematically reviewed the results achieved so far in the saliva of different cohorts of Parkinson's disease patients.A comprehensive literature search on PubMed and SCOPUS led to the discovery of *** screening and exclusion,34 relevant articles were derived fo r systematic ***-synuclein,the histopathological hallmark of Parkinson's disease,has been the most investigated Parkinson's disease biomarker in saliva,with oligomeric alphasynuclein consistently found increased in Parkinson's disease patients in comparison to healthy controls,while conflicting results have been reported regarding the levels of total alpha-synuclein and phosphorylated alpha-synuclein,and few studies described an increased oligomeric alpha-synuclein/total alpha-synuclein ratio in Parkinson's *** alpha-synuclein,other biomarkers to rgeting diffe rent molecular pathways have been explored in the saliva of Parkinson's disease patients:total tau,phosphorylated tau,amyloid-β1-42(pathological protein aggregation biomarkers);DJ-1,heme-oxygenase-l,metabolites(alte red energy homeostasis biomarkers);MAPLC-3beta(aberrant proteostasis biomarker);cortisol,tumor necrosis factor-alpha(inflammation biomarkers);DNA methylation,miRNA(DNA/RNA defects biomarkers);acetylcholinesterase activity(synaptic and neuronal network

A search for the doubly charmed baryon ■^+cc is performed through its decay to theΛ^+c K^-π^+ final state,using proton-proton collision data collected with the LHCb detector at centre-of-mass energies of 7,8 and 13 *** data correspond to a total integrated luminosity of 9 fb^-*** significant signal is observed in the mass range from 3.4 to 3.8 geV/c^*** limits are set at 95%credibility level on the ratio of the ■^+cc production cross-section times the branching fraction to that ofΛ^+c and ■^++cc *** limits are determined as functions of the ■^+cc mass for different lifetime hypotheses,in the rapidity range from 2.0 to 4.5 and the transverse momentum range from 4 to 15 geV/c.
