Although mutations in the superoxide dismutase 1 gene account for only a minority of total amyotrophic lateral sclerosis cases,the discovery of this gene has been crucial for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis *** the identification of superoxide dismutase 1 in 1993,the field of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis genetics has considerably widened,improving our understanding of the diverse pathogenic basis of amyotrophic lateral *** this review,we focus on cognitive impairment in superoxide dismutase 1-amyotrophic lateral sclerosis *** has mostly reported that cognition remains intact in superoxide dismutase 1-amyotrophic lateral sclerosis patients,but recent reports highlight frontal lobe function frailty in patients carrying different superoxide dismutase 1-amyotrophic lateral sclerosis *** thoroughly reviewed all the various mutations reported in the literature to contribute to a comprehensive database of superoxide dismutase 1-amyotrophic lateral sclerosis genotype-phenotype *** a resource could ultimately improve our mechanistic understanding of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis,enabling a more robust assessment of how the amyotrophic lateral sclerosis phenotype responds to different variants across genes,which is important for the therapeutic strategy targeting genetic *** in superoxide dismutase 1-amyotrophic lateral sclerosis deserves further longitudinal research since this peculiar frailty in patients with similar mutations can be conditioned by external factors,including environment and other unidentified agents including modifier genes.

Acinar cell carcinoma(ACC)is a rare malignant epithelial neoplasm accounting for 1%-2%of all pancreatic exocrine neoplasm,affecting more frequently man with an age between 50 and 70 *** patients present with nonspecific symptoms,which may give rise to difficulties in clinical diagnosis[1].ACC can manifest with diarrhea,weight loss,abdominal pain and,in up to 10%-15%,with lipase hypersecretion syndrome,characterized by elevated lipase production,diffuse subcutaneous fat necrosis and polyarthralgia[1,2].Biliary obstruction and jaundice are infre-quent clinical manifestations,unlike ductal adenocarcinoma,due to pushing rather than infiltrating growth of ACC.

Driven by the rise of Web 2.0 and the non-stop spread of mobile device sensors,the concept of Public Participation gIS(PPgIS)is knowing a revolutionary era which perfectly fits the new vision of Digital Earth(DE).This research investigates the opportunity to build up a PPgIS prototype with completely Free and Open Source Software(FOSS)architecture,in which data directly come from field surveys carried out by users.A sample application related to urban monitoring is addressed,which concentrates on user field-collected data concerning reports of road pavement *** Data Kit suite allows users to collect geotagged multimedia information using mobile devices with onboard location sensors(e.g.a global Positioning System receiver).On field-captured data are sent to a server and stored into a PostgreSQL database with PostgIS spatial *** then disseminates data on the *** the client-side,different solutions allow data visualization on both desktop computers and mobile *** designed architecture provided support for FOSS usage in the process of gathering,uploading,and Web publishing information collected in *** implementation of the developed PPgIS could thus substantially increase public active participation in data creation and sharing,besides enlarging DE knowledge up to the local level.

The shortage of organs and the increasing median age of deceased donors for orthotropic liver transplantation stimulate transplant centres to accept grafts that otherwise would have been discarded due to severe vascular abnormali- ties. We encountered a donor with two arterial aneurysms and a left accessory hepatic artery： an arterial aneurysm of the common hepatic artery and a left accessory hepatic artery arising from a second aneurysm of the left gastric artery （Mi- chels type V）. A complex reconstruction was created to trans- plant the liver. Multiple arterial anastomosis was made and the hepatic inflow of the transplanted liver restored. Although the procedure increased the risk of hepatic artery thrombosis, one more organ supposed to be discarded was saved.

In this article,we present the realisation of a multi-frame and multi-dimensional WebgIS that allows users to simultaneously analyse a specific portion of the Earth taking into account the historical information,*** graphical panels have been realised:one for the usual 2D view and one for a more realistic 3D *** panels display historical maps of the city,the current orthophoto and the digital topographical *** 3D frame is based on NASA World Wind,an open source virtual globe from where 3D buildings are shown extruding the 2D shapes using their mean *** to a specifically designed graphical user interface,it is also possible to dynamically thematise the buildings on the globe according to different criteria(*** construction time span)so that only the geometries fulfilling the request are turned *** the proposed application,a synchronisation between the two panels has been implemented,in order to maintain a constant alignment of the two *** application is also open to the time *** fact,assigning to each geometry two dates(e.g.‘year of construction’and‘year of demolition’),it is possible to dynamically view how buildings have changed over time,both in their shape and *** developments of this work will concern the possibility of implementing a city model with a higher level of detail.

The index of refraction plays a decisive role in the design and classification of optical materials and devices;therefore,its proper and accurate determination is *** most refractive index(RI)sensing schemes,however,there is a trade-off between providing high-resolution measurements and covering a wide range of *** propose and experimentally demonstrate a novel mechanism for sensing the index of refraction of a medium by utilizing the orbital angular momentum(OAM)of structured *** a superposition of co-propagating monochromatic higher-order Bessel beams with equally spaced longitudinal wavenumbers,in a comb-like setting,we generate non-diffracting rotating light structures in which the orientation of the beam’s intensity profile is sensitive to the RI of the medium(here,a fluid).In principle,the sensitivity of this scheme can exceed~2700°/RI unit(RIU)with a resolution of~105 ***,we show how the unbounded degrees of freedom associated with OAM can be deployed to offer a wide dynamic range by generating structured light that evolves into different patterns based on the change in *** rotating light structures are generated by a programmable spatial light *** provides dynamic control over the sensitivity,which can be tuned to perform coarse or fine measurements of the RI in real ***,in turn,allows high sensitivity and resolution to be achieved simultaneously over a very wide dynamic range,which is a typical tradeoff in all RI sensing *** thus envision that this method will open new directions in refractometry and remote sensing.
