Background:Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)is the most common cause of cancer-related death in Saudi *** study aimed to investigate the patterns of HCC and the effect of tNM staging,Alfa-fetoprotein(AFP),and Child-turcotte Pugh(CtP)on patients’overall survival(OS).Methods:A retrospective analysis was conducted on 43 HCC patients at a single oncology center in Saudi Arabia from 2015 to *** patients had to fulfill one of the following criteria:(a)a liver lesion reported as definitive HCC on dynamic imaging and/or(b)a biopsy-confirmed ***:the mean patient age of all HCC cases was 66.8 with a male-to-female ratio of 3.3:*** patients were stratified into two groups:viral HCC(n=22,51%)and non-viral HCC(n=21,49%).Among viral-HCC patients,55%were due to HBV and 45%due to *** was diagnosed in 79%of *** and sex did not significantly statistically differ in OS among viral and non-viral HCC patients(p-value>0.05).About 65%of patients had tumor size>5 cm during the diagnosis,with a significant statistical difference in OS(p-value=0.027).AFP was>400 ng/ml in 45%of the *** was a statistically significant difference in the OS in terms of AFP levels(p-value=0.021).A statistically significant difference was also observed between the CtP score and OS(p-value=0.02).CtP class B had the longest *** was the most common treatment provided to HCC patients followed by sorafenib *** was a significant statistical difference in OS among viral and non-viral HCC patients(p-value=0.008).Conclusions:the most common predictors for OS were the underlying cause of HCC,AFP,and tumor *** having non-viral etiology,a tumor size>5 cm,an AFP>400 ng/mL,and a CtP score class C were all negatively associated with OS.

Using partial electrodes and a multifrequency electrical source,we present a large-bandwidth,large-amplitude clamped–clamped microbeam resonator excited near the higher order modes of *** analytically and experimentally investigate the nonlinear dynamics of the microbeam under a two-source harmonic *** first-frequency source is swept around the first three modes of vibration,whereas the second source frequency remains *** additive and subtractive resonances are *** illustrated that by properly tuning the frequency and amplitude of the excitation force,the frequency bandwidth of the resonator is *** microbeam is fabricated using polyimide as a structural layer coated with nickel from the top and chromium and gold layers from the *** the galerkin method,a reduced order model is derived to simulate the static and dynamic response of the device.A good agreement between the theoretical and experimental data are reported.

the concentrations of 20 trace elements in several ceramics tiles and ceramic composites used in Egypt were elementally analyzed by neutron activation analysis(NAA) technique. the samples and standard were irradiated with reactor for 4 h(in the Second Research Egyptian Reactor(Et-RR-2)) with thermal neutron flux 5.9×10 13 n/(cm 2·s).the gamma-ray spectra obtained were measured for several times by means of the hyper pure germanium detection system(HPge). Also a solid state nuclear track detector(SSNtD) CR-39, was used to measure the emanation rate of radon for these samples. the radium concentrations were found to vary from 0.39—3.59 ppm and the emanation rates were found to vary from (0.728—5.688) × 10 -4 kg/(m 2· s).the elemental analysis of the ceramic tiles and ceramic composites have a great importance in assigning the physical properties and in turn the quality of the material.

Friction Coefficient Displayed by the Scratch of Epoxy Composites Filled by Metallic Particles under the Influence of Magnetic Field

the wide use of epoxy composites as bearing materials in electronic appliances necessitates studying their frictional behaviour under the influence of magnetic field. Experiments were carried out to investigate the effect of magnetic field on the friction coefficient displayed by the scratch of epoxy composites filled by iron, copper and aluminium particles at different concentrations. It was observed that, for epoxy filled by the metallic fillers (iron, copper and aluminium), under the effect of the magnetic field, friction coefficient showed relative decrease then significantly increased with further increase of the intensity of the magnetic field. Besides, friction coefficient increased with increasing the content of the metallic fillers due to the decrease of the strength of the epoxy matrix. the values of friction coefficient displayed by epoxy filled by copper were lower than those observed for epoxy filled by iron. Filling epoxy by aluminium displayed lower friction coefficient than that observed for epoxy composites filled by iron and copper. this can be attributed to the charging of aluminium by positive charge when slid against steel. the resultant charge on the sliding surfaces was lower than that generated when epoxy was filled by iron and copper. In that condition, the adhesion of epoxy composites would be relatively weaker leading to the decrease of friction coefficient.

Hepatocellular Carcinoma Incidence and Mortality in the USA by Sex, Age, and Race: A Nationwide Analysis of two Decades

Background and Aims:While the incidence rates of hepa-tocellular carcinoma(HCC)are increasing,there are limited comprehensive data on demographic-specific incidence and mortality trends in the *** aimed to evaluate recent trends in HCC incidence and mortality among different de-mographic groups in the ***:Age-adjusted HCC incidence rates were calculated from the Centers for Disease Control's United States Cancer Statistics database,which combines incidence data on newly diagnosed cancer cases and covers approximately 98%of the population in the ***,age-adjusted HCC mortality rates were obtained from the Centers for Disease Control's National Center for Health Statistics database,which offers comprehensive Cov-erage spanning nearly 100%of deaths attributed to HCC in the *** were stratified by sex,age(older[≥55 years]and younger[ts),race and ethnicity(Non-Hispanic White,Non-Hispanic Black,Hispanic,Non-Hispanic Asian/Pacific Islander,and Non-Hispanic American Indian/Alaska Native),and tumor stage at diagnosis(early and late).Annual and average annual percentage change(AAPC)were calculated using joinpoint regression.A sex-specific pairwise comparison was ***:Between 2001 and 2020,there were 467,346 patients diagnosed with HCC(26.0%women),with increasing incidence in both sexes without significant difference(p=0.65).In younger adults(78,169 patients),the incidence decreased in men but not in women(AAPC difference=-2.39,p=0.002).this was seen in various racial and ethnic groups,mostly driven by early-stage tumors(AAPC difference=-2.65,p=0.02).there were 329,973 deaths attributed to HCC between 2000 and 2020(28.4%women).In younger adults(43,093 deaths),mortal-ity decreased in men at a greater rate than in women(AAPC difference=1.61,p=0.007).this was seen in various racial and ethnic groups,most notably in non-Hispanic American Indian/Alaska Natives(AAPC difference=-4.51,p=0.01).Conclusions:Nationwide USA data,coveri

In this paper we propose a COncurrent Production Engineering System （COPES） for the flexible transfer line （FtL） layout design in a restricted area. COPES first determines the buffer size in front of the bay of each machine tool in the FtL and then initializes a computer aided design （CAD） system to draw the FtL in a restricted area. We develop a set of modules systems which have been integrated into a single framework, in accordance with the practice of concurrent engineering. Concurrent engineering involves the cooperation of these activities. It＇s expected that the developed COPES can improve the cooperation between production engineers＇ and the plant designer. this can be done by enabling the production engineers＇ to make better decision regarding FtL buffer size.
