Prediction of the burden of road traffic injuries in Iran by 2030: Prevalence, death,and disability-adjusted life years

Purpose:Road traffic accidents pose a global challenge with substantial human and economic *** a high incidence of road traffic injuries,leading to a significant burden on *** studyaims to predict the future burden of road traffic injuries in Iran until 2030,providing valuable insights forpolicy-making and interventions to improve road safety and reduce the associated human and ***:This analytical study utilized time series models,specifically autoregressive integrated movingaverage(ARIMA)and artificial neural networks(ANNs),to predict the burden of road traffic accidents byanalyzing past data to identify patterns and trends in Iran until *** required data related toprevalence,death,and disability-adjusted life years(DALYs)rates were collected from the Institute forHealth Metrics and Evaluation database and analyzed using R software and relevant modeling andstatistical analysis ***:Both prediction models,ARIMA and ANNs indicate that the prevalence rates(per 100,000)of allroad traffic injuries,except for motorcyclist road injuries which have an almost flat trend,remaining ataround 430,increase by *** on estimations of both models,the rates of death and DALYs due tomotor vehicle and pedestrian road traffic injuries *** motor vehicle road injuries,estimatedtrends decrease to approximately 520 DALYs and 10 ***,for pedestrian road injuries these ratesreached approximately 300 DALYs and 6 deaths,according to the *** cyclists and other roadtraffic injuries,the predicted DALY rates by the ANN model increase to almost 50 and 8,while predictionsconducted by the ARIMA model show a static trend,remaining at 40 and approximately ***,these rates for the prediction of death rate by the ANN model increased to 0.6 and 0.1,while predictionsconducted by the ARIMA model show a static trend,remaining at 0.43 and *** to the ANNmodel,the predicted rates of DALY and death for m

To investigate biostratigraphy of Albian sediments(Kazhdumi Formation)in the Zagros Basin,280 samples in four sections were prepared which are nominated as Murshan-e-Bala,Fahliyane-Pain,Kupon and *** distribution of identified foraminifers confirms well developed orbitolinids which are associated with other Albian benthic foraminifers in all studied *** orbitolinids are recognized in surrounding strata[Dariyan(at the base which is marked by an oxidized zone)and Sarvak Formations(on the top,as gradtional contact)]as well as the Kazhdumi *** biostratigraphic data show that Early Albian is marked by the presence of Hemicyclammina sigali,which co-occurs with Mesorbitolina texana and Mesorbitolina subconcava,whereas Conicorbitolina conica and Meorbitolina parva support Late Albian age of the studied *** algae are associated with both benthic faunal *** planktons occur in the studied sections which are identified as Favusella washitensis and Calcisphaerula inomminata *** stratigraphic position of planktons actually indicates vertical displacement in the sedimentary basin during Albian *** associated Albian pelagic foraminifera are identified which are obviously recognized in three sections of the Kazhdumi *** presence of pelagic species in the study section of the Kazhdumi Formation indicates basement faulting during the Albian period.

Phagraphene is a very attractive two-dimensional (2D) full carbon allotrope with very interesting mechanical, electronic, optical, and thermal properties. The objective of this study is to investigate the mechanical properties of this new graphene like 2D material. In this work, mechanical properties of phagraphene have been studied not only in the defect-free form, but also with the critical defect of line cracks, using the classical molecular dynamics simulations. Our study shows that the pristine phagraphene in zigzag direction experience a ductile behavior under uniaxial tensile loading and the nanosheet in this direction are less sensitive to temperature changes as compared to the armchair direction. We studied different crack lengths to explore the in fluence of defects on the mechanical properties of phagraphene. We also investigated the temperature effect on the mechanical properties of pristine and defective phagraphene. Our classical atomistic simulation results confirm that larger cracks can reduce the strength of the phagraphene. Moreover, it was shown the temperature has a considerable weakening effect on the tensile strength of phagraphene. The results of this study may be useful for the design of nano-devices using the phagraphene.

Comparison of post-urethroplasty complication rates in pediatric cases with hypospadias using Vicryl or polydioxanone sutures

Objective:Hypospadias is a common congenital problem among male *** rapid absorbable sutures(polyglactin,Vicryl)and delayed absorbable sutures(polydioxanone,PDO)are used in hypospadias repair based on the surgeon's *** study was conducted to compare post-urethroplasty complication rates in pediatric patients with hypospadias using Vicryl or PDO ***:This is a retrospective study which was designed and performed on 583 children aged 1-7 years old who had undergone hypospadias repair from January 2012 to December *** data were obtained from the patients'medical ***:Overall,post-surgical complications were observed in 60(10.3%)patients comprising urethro-cutaneous fistula(n=39,6.7%),meatal stenosis(n=10,1.7%),urethral stricture(n=7,1.2%),and glans dehiscence(n=4,0.7%).The mean age of the children with complications was 3.0±1.3 *** to Kaplan-Meier estimate,the interval between surgery and development of complications was significantly shorter in the Vicryl group(p=0.037).Overall,complications were more prevalent in Vicryl suture than PDO suture(15.1%vs.5.3%,pgression model revealed that in comparison to the distal type,proximal hypospadias(odds ratio[OR]:103.9,95%confidence interval[CI]:32.2-334.9,pg Vicryl suture instead of PDO suture(OR:62.4,95%CI:21.2-183.8,pg post-urethroplasty ***:We suggest PDO suture in the repair of hypospadias due to its lower complication rate,especially in cases of proximal and mid-shaft hypospadias which can get more complicated than the distal type.

Friction stir welding is a new and innovative welding method used to fuse materials. In this welding method, the heat generated by friction and plastic flow causes significant changes in the microstructure of the material, which leads to local changes in the mechanical properties of the weld. In this study, the effects of various welding parameters such as the rotational and traverse speeds of the tool on the microstructural and mechanical properties of copper plates were investigated; additionally, Charpy tests were performed on copper plates for the first time. Also, the effect of the number of welding passes on the aforementioned properties has not been investigated in previous studies. The results indicated that better welds with superior properties are produced when less heat is transferred to the workpiece during the welding process. It was also found that although the properties of the stir zone improved with an increasing number of weld passes, the properties of its weakest zone, the heat-affected zone, deteriorated.

Healthcare systems engineering in emergency departments(EDs)are developing rapidly in the world *** track(FT)as a rapid treatment system is considered to facilitate ED patient *** know how FT can improve the performance of ED,one should study the best configuration of resources for implementation of *** research presents a pattern for implementation of FT systems in hospital EDs using healthcare simulation ***-based optimization model uses modeling and simulation capabilities to generate configurations of FT resources and its patient prioritization pattern with Arena rsimulation software.A decision making method is used to select the optimal configuration based on pre-specified performance *** results imply that the proposed FT implementation pattern is efficient and capable of improving patient flow.

In a modern electrical driver, rotor field oriented control an appropriate transient response. In this method, the space （RFOC） method has been used to achieve a good performance and vector of the rotor flux comes handy by the rotor resistance value. The rotor resistance is one of the important parameters which varies according to motor speed and room temperature alteration. In this paper, a new on-line estimation method is utilized to obtain the rotor resistance by using Walsh functions domain. The Walsh functions are one of the most applicable functions in piecewise constant basis functions （PCBF） to solve dynamic equations. On the other hand, an integral operational matrix is used to simplify the process and speed of the computation algorithm. The simulations results show that the proposed method is capable of solving the dynamic equations in an electrical machine on a time interval which robustly estimates the rotor resistance in contrast with injection noises.
