INTRODUCTION As owners contemplate major capital upgrades and investments into their existing chiller plants,several considerations become apparent and require a thorough *** primary considerations include:Age of existing equipment,existing load profile,utility rates,building occupancy and tenant use,property repositioning plan,lease type and the property’s asset strategy,and *** Aventine’s case,the building was considered by most real estate professionals and owners as a relatively young building at 17 years *** building and chiller plant still had a good five to seven years of serviceable *** challenge in this particular case was to propose an upgrade justifying replacement of this still functioning chiller plant while asking for approximately$500k in capital expense *** addition to describing the technical features of this next-generation chiller plant system,this case study will attempt to integrate fi nancial decision making attributes that assisted in the decision making *** focus of this paper is to differentiate this technology and approach with major chiller plant upgrades.

Similarly to other adult tissues,a hierarchical structure has been established for the brain,where the differentiated cell types（neurons,oligodendrocytes and astrocytes）are generated from primary progenitor cells,known as type B astrocytes or neural stem cells （NSC）, through one or multiple stages of amplification （transient amplifying cells） that generate precursor cells （iPC） with more restricted potential nlPCs （neural）, alPCs （astrocytes）, olPC （oligodendrocytes）（Kriegstein and Alvarez-Buvlla, 2009）.

Concentrated suspensions of Brownian hard-spheres in water are an epitome for understanding the glassy dynamics of both soft materials and supercooled molecular liquids. From an experimental point of view, such systems are especially suited to perform particle tracking easily, and, therefore, are a benchmark for novel optical techniques, applicable when primary particles cannot be resolved. Differential variance analysis（DVA） is one such novel technique that simplifies significantly the characterization of structural relaxation processes of soft glassy materials, since it is directly applicable to digital image sequences of the sample. DVA succeeds in monitoring not only the average dynamics, but also its spatio-temporal fluctuations, known as dynamic heterogeneities. In this work, we study the dynamics of dense suspensions of Brownian beads in water, imaged through digital video-microscopy, by using both DVA and single-particle tracking. We focus on two commonly used signatures of dynamic heterogeneities: the dynamic susceptibility, χ4, and the non-gaussian parameter, α2. By direct comparison of these two quantities,we are able to highlight similarities and differences. We do confirm that χ4 and α2 provide qualitatively similar information, but we find quantitative discrepancies in the scalings of characteristic time and length scale on approaching the glass transition.

In this research,plasma electrolytic oxidation coatings were prepared on AZ31 Mg alloy in a silicate-based solution containing K_(2)TiF_(6) using bipolar and soft sparking waveforms with 10,20,and 30%cathodic duty *** coatings displayed a net-like surface morphology consisted of irregular micro-pores,micro-cracks,fused oxide particles,and a sintered *** to the incorporation of TiO_(2) colloidal particles and the cathodic pulse repair effect,most of the micro-pores were ***-term corrosion performance of the coatings was investigated using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy during immersion in 3.5 wt.%NaCl solution up to 14 *** coating grown by the soft sparking waveform with a 20%cathodic duty cycle having the lowest porosity(6.2%)and a sharp layer concentrated in F element at the substrate/coating interface shows the highest corrosion *** friction coefficient of this coating has remained stable during the sliding even under 5 N normal load,showing relatively higher wear resistance than other *** coating produced using the equivalent unipolar waveform,as the reference specimen,showed the highest friction coefficient and the lowest wear resistance despite its highest micro-hardness.

We analyzed the number of cumulative positive cases of COVID-19 as a function of time in countries around the *** tracked the increase in cases from the onset of the pandemic in each region for up to 150 *** found that in 81 out of 146 regions the trajectory was described with a power-law function for up to 30 *** also detected scale-free properties in the majority of sub-regions in Australia,Canada,China,and the United States(US).We developed an allometric model that was capable of fitting the initial phase of the pandemic and was the best predictor for the propagation of the illness for up to 100 *** then determined that the power-law COVID-19 exponent correlated with measurements of human *** COVID-19 exponent correlated with the magnitude of air passengers per *** correlation persisted when we analyzed the number of air passengers per US states,and even per US metropolitan ***,the COVID19 exponent correlated with the number of vehicle miles traveled in the ***,air and vehicular travel explained 70%of the variability of the COVID-19 *** together,our results suggest that the scale-free propagation of the virus is present at multiple geographical scales and is correlated with human *** conclude that models of disease transmission should integrate scale-free dynamics as part of the modeling strategy and not only as an emergent phenomenological property.

AIM: To evaluate safety, efficacy, and patient adherence of intracameral lidocaine as supplement of classic topical anesthetic drops in cataract ***: A prospective and controlled trial including a large cohort of 1650 individuals suffering with bilateral cataract not complicated, in program by phacoemulsification surgery, were randomly assigned to 2 different groups for the type of anesthesia received, 0.4% oxybuprocaine hydrochloride(INN) drops, and INN drops associated to intracameral 1% lidocaine hydrochloride monohydrate. At the end of surgery, tables were assigned to each patient indicating the degree of pain(0-3) felt during the ***: Thirty-two percent of patients in group 1 declared to have not felt any pain against the 77% of patients in group 2. Fifty-nine percent of patients in group 1 complained about only a slight discomfort against 20% of group 2 patients. Only a small percentage of patients in group 1(5%) admitted severe pain, while no patient in group 2 admitted severe pain. Four patients of group 2 reported an episode of transient amaurosis, lasting several hours after ***: Intracameral administration of lidocaine is a simple and secure method able to increase the analgesia during the cataract surgery, eliminating the discomfort and increasing also the cooperation of the patients during the steps of manipulation.

Plants experience different abiotic/biotic stresses,which trigger their molecular machinery to cope with them. Besides general mechanisms prompted by many stresses, specific mechanisms have been introduced to optimize the response to individual threats. However, these key mechanisms are difficult to identify. Here, we introduce an in-depth species-specific transcriptomic analysis and conduct an extensive meta-analysis of the responses to related species to gain more knowledge about plant responses. The spider mite Tetranychus urticae was used as the individual species, several arthropod herbivores as the related species for meta-analysis, and Arabidopsis thaliana plants as the common host. The analysis of the transcriptomic data showed typical common responses to herbivory, such as jasmonate signaling or glucosinolate biosynthesis. Also, a specific set of genes likely involved in the particularities of the Arabidopsis-spider mite interaction was discovered. The new findings have determined a prominent role in this interaction of the jasmonateinduced pathways leading to the biosynthesis of anthocyanins and tocopherols. Therefore, tandem individual/general transcriptomic profiling has been revealed as an effective method to identify novel relevant processes and specificities in the plant response to environmental stresses.

Plasma electrolytic oxidation(PEO)was applied using a pulsed unipolar waveform to produce Al_(2)O_(3)−TiO_(2) composite coatings from sol electrolytic solutions containing colloidal TiO_(2) *** sol solutions were produced by dissolving 1,3,and 5 g/L of potassium titanyl oxalate(PTO)in a silicate *** electron microscopy,energy dispersive spectrometry,X-ray diffraction,and Raman spectroscopy were applied to characterizing the *** behavior of the coatings was investigated using polarization and impedance *** results indicated that TiO_(2) enters the coating through all types of micro-discharging and is doped into the alumina *** higher level of TiO_(2) incorporation results in the decrease of surface micro-pores,while the lower incorporation shows a reverse *** was revealed that the higher TiO_(2) content makes a more compact outer layer and increases the inner layer thickness of the *** measurements revealed that the coating obtained from the solution containing 3 g/L PTO exhibits higher corrosion performance than that obtained in the absence of *** coating produced in the absence of PTO consists of γ-Al_(2)O_(3),δ-Al_(2)O_(3) and amorphous phases,while α-Al_(2)O_(3) is promoted by the presence of PTO.
