Passive Direct methanol fuel cells(DMFC)are more suitable for charging small capacity electronic *** passive DMFC,the fuel and oxidant are supplied by diffusion and natural convection process on the anode and cathode sides *** collectors(CC)play a vital importance in fuel cell *** paper presents the combined impact of perforated and wire mesh current collectors(WMCC)on passive DMFC *** types of open ratios of perforated current collectors(PCC),such as 45.40%,55.40%and 63.40%and two types of wire mesh current collectors with open ratios of 38.70%and 45.40%were chosen for the experimental work.A combination of TaguchiL9 rule is considered.A combination of three PCC and two WMCC on both anode and cathode was *** concentration was varied from 1 mol·L^(-1)-5 mol·L^(-1)for nine combinations of PCC and *** the experimental results,it is noticed that the combination of PCC and WMCC with an open ratio of 55.40%and 38.70%incorporated passive DMFC produced peak power density at 5 mol·L^(-1)of methanol *** passive DMFC performance was evaluated in terms of maximum power density and maximum current *** combined current collectors of PCC and WMCC open ratios of 55.40%+38.70%have more stable voltage than single PCC of open ratio 63.40%at 4 mol·L^(-1)of methanol concentration.

窖泥微生物对酒质的影响是通过多种酶促反应实现,目前对窖泥酶活的研究较少,缺乏关于窖泥中氮代谢功能酶的空间分布特征分析。该研究分析不同位置的窖泥理化因子和酶活力,采用高通量测序技术对窖泥细菌群落进行分析,通过聚类分析研究细菌群落的空间分布特点,并标记窖泥微生物的基因序列预测参与氮代谢功能酶的相对丰度。结果表明,铵态氮含量(1478.37 mg/kg)、过氧化氢酶活力[1.731 mg/(g·d)]、蛋白酶活力[1.107 mg/(g·d)]在窖底窖泥中最大,在窖池内自上而下呈增高趋势,而脱氢酶呈减小趋势。Firmicutes是窖泥的绝对优势菌门,Caproiciproduces、Lactobacillus、Fastidiosipila分别是窖底、窖壁中层和窖壁上层窖泥的第一优势菌属。铵态氮、蛋白酶与Aminobacterium呈显著的正相关(P<0.05);酸性磷酸酶与Lactobacillus呈显著负相关(P<0.05),脲酶与Syntrophaceticus呈显著的正相关(P<0.05)。PICRUSt2功能预测中,参与氮代谢的功能酶在不同位置窖泥中的相对丰度差异显著(P<0.05)。酶活性影响窖泥物质循环,物质交换是微生物相互作用的重要驱动力,功能酶活力可以衡量氮代谢的强度,由此可见,窖泥位置对氮代谢酶的分布产生重要影响,并影响着氮代谢,该研究为解析微生物参与窖泥中的物质循环过程提供理论基础。

基于四面体DNA框架和g-四链体(g4)结构,利用靶标介导的无酶链置换循环信号放大策略,构建了一种电化学传感策略,用于microRNA-21的高灵敏检测。根据靶标(microRNA-21)序列设计四面体DNA框架发夹探针,当靶标存在时,其与四面体DNA框架上的发夹探针互补配对杂交,进而启动3条发夹DNA的链置换循环反应,在电极表面形成大量的“Y”型DNA。每个“Y”型DNA结构中的2个末端均有g4结构,可与血红素(hemin)形成一种具有类辣根过氧化物酶特性的g4/hemin DNAzyme,催化3,3',5,5'-四甲基联苯胺和过氧化氢的反应并产生较强的电流信号,从而用于microRNA-21的检测。当靶标不存在时,链置换反应无法启动,因而电化学信号较弱。结果显示,在1.00 fmol/L~1.00 nmol/L浓度范围内,峰电流差值(各浓度电流值-空白组电流值)与microRNA-21浓度的对数值具有良好的线性关系,线性方程为ΔI=45.04lgc+756.1,线性相关系数R^(2)=0.9987,检测限为17.92 amol/L。该方法有望用于与miRNA-21相关的肿瘤早期诊断的临床应用。

Hevea brasiliensis is a commercially cultivated species for its natural rubber（NR） latex in South East Asian countries. To meet the ever-increasing demand, NR cultivation has been extended to non-traditional regions due to the limited scope of further expansion in traditional rubbergrowing areas in India. These areas are often confronted with various abiotic stresses, especially high and low temperatures, which cause reduction in plant growth, thereby increasing its uneconomical immaturity period. Eighteen wild Hevea accessions along with two modern clones RRII203 and PB 235 and two check clones RRIM 600 and Haiken 1 were evaluated in the early mature growth *** site was at Nagrakata, West Bengal, the sub-Himalayan cold-prone region of India. In Hevea, crop production is governed by two major factors, growth-vigor and production capacity. growth-vigor is of special importance because the production of rubber is a process linked with the early growth of the plant, which results in early tappability and early economic gains. The genotypes exhibited highly significant clonal differences（P = 0.05） for all the growth traits. Tappability percentage in the seventh year, ranged from 0.33 %（AC 3074, AC 3075, AC 3293） to 89.67 %（RO 2727）. The most vigorously growing accession（RO2727） reached tappabile girth early in the seventh year when the girth of plant ranged from 22.38 cm（AC 3293） to53.12 cm（RO 2727）. The general mean was 43.32 cm, and the similar growth trend was exhibited by these accessions in the tenth year also. Annual girth increment（cm a-1） over3 years ranged from 1.81 cm（AC 3075） to 6.80 cm（RO2727）. The mean winter girth increment（cm a-1） over4 years ranged from 0.13 cm（AC 3075） to 0.96 cm（RO2727） as compared to the check clone RRIM 600（1.11 cm）and Haiken 1（1.10 cm）. The ternary phosphate glass series(50-x)CaO-xCaF_(2)-50P_(2)O_(5)(x=0-20 mol%)were synthesized using melt quench ***,optical and mechanical properties were investigated with increase in CaF_(2) *** X-ray diffraction(XRD),synthesized glasses were confirmed to be amorphous in *** of oxygen ions by fluorine ions increased the values of *** in refractive index due to the low polarizability of fluorine ions in the glass matrix was *** Fourier transform infrared(FTIR)spectra,the slight variation in v_(as)(PO_(2))band position and intensity could be attributed to replacement of fluorine ions for oxygen ions in phosphate glass *** data were well supported by Raman *** band gap energy increased from 3.44 eV to 3.64 eV with increase in CaF_(2) content,and Urbach energy decreased suggesting that the fluorine ions reduced the tail energy states in the band gap compared to the oxygen *** parameters such as Vickers hardness,fracture toughness and brittleness were evaluated from the Vickers micro indentation *** in Vickers hardness,decrease in fracture toughness and increase in brittleness were observed with increase in CaF_(2) content.

In this study,phosphoenolpyruvate and erythrose-4-phosphate are efficiently supplied by collaborative design of Embden-Meyerhof-Parnas(EMP)pathway and pentose phosphate(PP)pathway in Escherichia coli,thus increasing the L-tryptophan ***,the effects of disrupting EMP pathway on L-tryptophan production were studied,and the results indicated that the strain with deletion of phosphofructokinase A(i.e.,*** JW-5ΔpfkA)produced 23.4±2.1 g/L of L-tryptophan ***,deletion of phosphofructokinase A and glucosephosphate isomerase is not conducive to glucose consumption and cell growth,especially deletion of glucosephosphate ***,the carbon flux in PP pathway was enhanced by introduction of the desensitized glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase(zwf)and 6-phosphogluconate dehydrogenase(gnd)and thus increasing the L-tryptophan production(i.e.,26.5±3.2 g/L vs.21.7±1.3 g/L)without obviously changing the cell growth(i.e.,0.41 h^(-1) vs.0.44 h^(-1))as compared with the original strain ***,the effects of co-modifying EMP pathway and PP pathway on L-tryptophan production were *** was found that the strain with deletion of phosphofructokinase A as well as introduction of the desensitized zwf and gnd(i.e.,*** JW-5 zwf243 gnd361ΔpfkA)produced 31.9±2.7 g/L of L-tryptophan,which was 47.0%higher than that of strain *** addition,the glucose consumption rate of strain JW-5 zwf243 gnd361ΔpfkA was obviously increased despite of the bad cell growth as compared with strain *** results of this study have important reference value for the following application of metabolic engineering to improve aromatic amino acids producing strains.

Evapotranspiration is an essential component of the hydrological cycle that is of particular interest for water resource *** quantification is helpful in irrigation scheduling,water balance studies,water allocation,*** of reference evapotranspiration(ET0)using both gene expression programming(gEP)and artificial neural network(ANN)techniques was done using the daily meteorological data of the Pantnagar region,India,from 2010 to 2019.A total of 15 combinations of inputs were used in developing the ET0 *** model with the least number of inputs consisted of maximum and minimum air temperatures,whereas the model with the highest number of inputs consisted of maximum air temperature,minimum air temperature,mean relative humidity,number of sunshine hours,wind speed at 2mheight and extra-terrestrial radiation as inputs and with ET0 as the output for all the *** the gEP models were developed for a single functional set and pre-defined genetic operator values,while the best structure in each ANN model was found based on the performance during the testing *** was found that ANN models were superior to gEP models for the estimation *** was evident from the reduction in RMSE values ranging from 2%to 56%during training and testing phases in all the ANN models compared with gEP *** ANN models showed an increase of about 0.96%to 9.72%of R2 value compared to the respective gEP *** comparative study of these models with multiple linear regression(MLR)depicted that the ANN and gEP models were superior to MLR models.

Influence of bio-inspired flow channel designs on the performance of a PEM fuel cell

Performance of the proton exchange membrane fuel cell(PEMFC)is appreciably affected by the channel *** branching structure of a plant leaf and human lung is an efficient network to distribute the nutrients in the respective *** same nutrient transport system can be mimicked in the flow channel design of a PEMFC,to aid even reactant distribution and better water *** this work,the effect of bio-inspired flow field designs such as lung and leaf channel design bipolar plates,on the performance of a PEMFC was examined experimentally at various operating conditions.A PEMFC of 49 cm2 area,with a Nafion 212 membrane with a 40%catalyst loading of 0.4 mg·cm-2 on the anode side and also 0.6 mg·cm-2 on the cathode side is assembled by incorporating the bio-inspired channel bipolar plate,and was tested on a programmable fuel-cell test *** impact of the working parameters like reactants’relative humidity(RH),back pressure and fuel cell temperature on the performance of the fuel cell was examined;the operating pressure remains constant at 0.1 *** was observed that the best performance was attained at a back pressure of 0.3 MPa,75°C operating temperature and 100%*** three flow channels were also compared at different operating pressures ranging from 0.1 MPa to 0.3 MPa,and the other parameters such as operating temperature,RH and back pressure were set as 75°C,100%and 0.3 *** experimental outcomes of the PEMFC with bio-inspired channels were compared with the experimental results of a conventional triple serpentine flow *** was observed that among the different flow channel designs considered,the leaf channel design gives the best output in terms of power ***,the experimental results of the leaf channel design were compared with those of the interdigitated leaf channel *** PEMFC with the interdigitated leaf channel design was found to generate 6.72%more power density than the non-interdigitated leaf channel design.

We report the picosecond laser ablation of aluminum targets immersed in a polar organic liquid(chloroform,CHCl3)with^2 ps laser pulses at an input energy of^350μ*** synthesized aluminum nanoparticles exhibited a surface plasmon resonance peak at^340 *** electron microscopy images of Al nanoparticles demonstrated the spherical morphology with an average size of(27±3.6)*** formation of smaller spherical Al nanoparticles and the diminished growth could be from the formation of electric double layers on the Al *** addition to spherical aluminum nanoparticles,triangular/pentagonal/hexagonal nanoparticles were also observed in the colloidal *** emission scanning electron microscopy images of ablated Al targets demonstrated laser induced periodic surface structures(LIPSSs),which were the high spatial frequency LIPSSs(HSF-LIPSSs)since their grating period was^280 ***,coarse structures with a period of^700 nm were observed.
