Do Planetary Transits Predict Synchronicity Experience?

Synchronicity involves the experience of personal meaning entangled with ambiguous c.incidences in time. Ambiguity results from incomplete information about the chances of various events occurring. The problem that this study addresses is the lack of empirical research on synchronicity. This study sought to address this problem by exploring the astrological hypothesis that planetary transits predict synchronicity events. Synchronicities were compared with the probability distributions of planetary transits. in comparison with the base rate predic.ion, planetary transits were not a significant predictor of synchronicity events. The findings of this study provide new insight into the complex, multifaceted, and ambiguous phenomenon of synchronicity. The concept of ambiguity tolerance plays a significant role in synchronicity research since ambiguity cannot be completely eliminated.

Laboratory investigations were conducted to study strength characteristics of silt loam soil of ilorin, Kwara State, Nigeria, under uni-axial compression tests. The main objec.ive of this study was to evaluate the effects of applied pressure and moisture content on strength indices such as bulk density, penetration resistance and shear strength of the soil and to develop relationships between the strength indices for predic.ive purposes necessary in soil management. The compression was carried out at different moisture contents determined according to the consistency limits of the soil. The applied pressure ranged from 75 to 600 kPa. Values of bulk density, penetration resistance and shear strength increased with increase in moisture content up to peak values after which the values decreased with further increase in moisture content. Regression models were used to desc.ibe the trends in the results for the soil. Results also showed that bulk density and soil strength normally regarded as indicators of soil quality are affected by moisture content and applied pressure and that these properties can be predicted using the models generated from the study.

Background: Malaria has remained one of the leading causes of morbidity and mortality in c.ildren despite effec.ive preventive and treatment modalities. This study is aimed at looking at the malaria preventive prac.ices among under-five c.ildren in three Niger Delta states in Nigeria and comparing the differences among them if any. Methods: This was a cross sec.ional study carried out over six months from 1st January to 30th June 2019 in public health facilities among under-five c.ildren in three South-South states (Akwa ibom, Delta and Rivers) of Nigeria. Using a stratified sampling method, c.ildren were recruited from 36 health facilities in the three states. A pretested interviewer administered questionnaire was used to harvest relevant information on socio-demographic characteristics of the subjects and informants and malaria preventive prac.ices. Obtained data was analysed using SPSS version 22 and results are presented in prose and frequency tables. c.i-square and Fischer’s exact were used for comparison of categorical variables, while a p-value of Results: A total of 3144 c.ildren participated in the study: 1661 (52.8%) were males while 1483 (47.2%) were females. c.ildren less than 2 years represented 77.6% of the study participants while the mean age was 1.72 ± 1.06 years. Mothers constituted over 80% of the informants in all the states. More of the informants had secondary education in Akwa ibom and Delta states, while in Rivers state, more of them had tertiary education. Malaria prevention method prac.iced in the three states included;use of insec.icide treated bed net (iTNs), insec.icide spray, anti-malarial drugs, clearing of bushes and disposal of mosquito breeding cans and use of mosquito repellents. indoor residual spraying (iRS) was not prac.iced in any of the states. Use of iTN was prac.iced more in Rivers state (53.2%) than in Delta (20.3%) and Akwa ibom (8.2%) states, while use of insec.icide spray was commoner in Akwa ibom state (77.2%) than in D

The c.inical role and underlying mechanisms of valproic acid(VPA)on bone homeostasis remain ***,we confirmed that VPA treatment was associated with decreased bone mass and bone mineral density(BMD)in both patients and *** effect was attributed to VPA-induced elevation in osteoclast formation and *** RNA-sequencing,we observed a significant rise in precursor miR-6359 expression in VPA-treated osteoclast precursors in vitro,and further,a marked upregulation of mature miR-6359(miR-6359)in vivo was demonstrated using quantitative real-time PcR(qRT-PcR)and miR-6359 fluorescent in situ hybridization(miR-6359-FiSH).Specifically,the miR-6359 was predominantly increased in osteoclast precursors and macrophages but not in neutrophils,T lymphocytes,monocytes and bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells(BMScs)following VPA stimulation,which influenced osteoclast differentiation and bone-resorptive ***,VPA-induced miR-6359 enrichment in osteoclast precursors enhanced reac.ive oxygen species(ROS)produc.ion by silencing the SiRT3 protein expression,followed by ac.ivation of the MAPK signaling pathway,which enhanced osteoclast formation and ac.ivity,thereby accelerating bone ***,there are no medications that can effec.ively treat VPA-induced bone ***,we constructed engineered small extracellular vesicles(E-sEVs)targeting osteoclast precursors in bone and naturally carrying anti-miR-6359 by introducing of EXOmotif(cgggAgc.in the 3’-end of the anti-miR-6359 *** confirmed that the E-sEVs exhibited decent bone/osteoclast precursor targeting and exerted protec.ive therapeutic effects on VPA-induced bone loss,but not on ovariectomy(OVX)and glucocortic.id-induced osteoporotic models,deepening our understanding of the underlying mechanism and treatment strategies for VPA-induced bone loss.

Deterioration and loss of quality of vegetable oil is a big challenge in the food *** study investigated the synthesis of nickel ferrite(Ni Fe_(2)_(O4))via co-precipitation method and its use for the removal of free fatty acids(FFAs)in deteriorated vegetable *** Fe2 O4 was characterized using Fourier transformed infrared spectroscopy(FTiR),X-ray diffrac.ion(XRD),thermogravimetric(Tg)analysis,Brunauer–Emm ett–Teller(BET)surface area,transmission electron microscopy(TEM),scanning electron microscopy(SEM)and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy(EDX).Synthesis of Ni Fe_(2)_(O4)was confirmed by characterization,which revealed a BET surface area of 16.30 m^(2)·g^(-1)and crystallite size of 29 *** Fe_(2)_(O4)exhibited an adsorption capacity of 145.20 L·kg^(-1)towards FFAs with an 80.69%removal in a process,which obeys Langmuir isotherm and can be desc.ibed by the pseudo-second-order kinetic *** process has enthalpy(DH)of 11.251 k Jámolà1 and entropy(DS)of 0.038 k J·mol^(-1)K^(-1)with negative free energy change(Dg),which suggests the process to be spontaneous and *** quantum chemical computation analysis via density func.ional theory further revealed the sorption mechanism of FFAs by Ni Fe_(2)_(O4)occurred via donor–acceptor interac.ion,which may be desc.ibed by the lowest unoccupied molecular orbital(LUMO)and the highest occupied molecular orbital(HOMO).The study showed Ni Fe_(2)_(O4)to be a potential means that can remove FFAs from deteriorated vegetable oil.

Objec.ive: Exposure of the heart to repeated, brief episodes of coronary occlusion/reperfusion prevents lethal myocyte injury. Necrosis and apoptosis, two seemingly distinct mechanisms of cell death caused by ischemia could contribute independently to progressive loss of myocardium. Studies suggest that ischemic conditioning (ic) lessens myocyte injury by decreasing apoptosis. The goal of this study was to examine cell death in rabbit hearts subject to ischemia-reperfusion injury without (nic) or with pretreatment by ic. Methods: in the control study, anesthetized, male rabbits (n = 4/group) underwent 30-min regional coronary occlusion (cO) and either 3, 6 or 24h reperfusion (REP). in the ic study, rabbits were pretreated by ic (2 cycles of 5-min cO and 10-min REP) before 30-min cO and subsequent REP. Additional groups were evaluated with 60, or 120-min cO followed by up to 96 h REP. Agarose electrophoresis was used to detect DNA laddering and poly (ADP-ribose) polymerase (PARP;chromatin bound nuclear DNA repair enzyme) was assessed in myocardial biopsies. Results: genomic DNA from nic and ic hearts showed no oligonucleosomal fragmentation. in addition, we did not detect any cleavage of PARP;however, myocardial PARP levels decreased when cO and REP durations were prolonged. conclusion:Absence of genomic DNA fragmentation or PARP cleavage in an in vivo preparation of ischemia-reperfusion injury does not support the view that apoptosis contributes markedly to post-ischemic tissue necrosis.

Sinonasal tumors with neuroendoc.ine differentiation are uncommon. They arise from schneiderian epithelium. The authors reported a case in a fifty-six years old female patient who came with complaints of headache and epistaxis. Differential diagnosis and review of literature are presented in detail. This case is presented in view of its rarity.

The Ti-35V-15cr-0.05c (wt% is a new nonburning titanium alloy. The test for alloy combustibility was carried out by using cO2 laser. A 430 watt and 6mm diameter laser spot impinges directly on the sample within normal atmospheric pressure and temperature. The results show that the ignition time of the nonburning titanium alloy is the longest in the eight examined titanium alloys, and is 3.5 times that of Tc4 alloy. The ignition tempeerature of the nonburning alloy is 2991° c, and is higher than that of Tc4 alloy by 1976°c. On the condition of high tempeerature and rich oxygen,the surface of alloy forms a melting layer which plays roles of oxygen insulation, heat insulation and burning products insulation. This is the mechanism of combustion resistance.
