Every day walking consists of frequent voluntary modifications in the gait pattern to negotiate *** spinal cord injury,stepping over an obstacle becomes *** over an obstacle requires sensorimotor transformations in several structures of the brain,including the parietal cortex,premotor cortex,and motor *** information and planning are transformed into motor commands,which are sent from the motor cortex to spinal neuronal circuits to alter limb trajectory,coordinate the limbs,and maintain *** spinal cord injury,bidirectional communication between the brain and spinal cord is disrupted and animals,including humans,fail to voluntarily modify limb trajectory to step over an ***,in this review,we discuss the neuromechanical control of stepping over an obstacle,why it fails after spinal cord injury,and how it recovers to a certain extent.

Anisotropy effect on strengths of metamorphic rocks

This paper aims to study the effect of anisotropy on strengths of several metamorphic rocks of southern(Cine) submassif of Menderes metamorphic massif in southwest Turkey. Four different metamorphic rocks including foliated phyllite, schist, gneiss and marble(calcschist) were selected and *** surveys were made along lines for each rock and evaluated with DIPS program. L-type Schmidt hammer was applied in the directions parallel and perpendicular to foliation during the field study. Several hand samples and rock blocks were collected during the field study for measurements of dry and saturated densities, dry and saturated unit weights and porosity, and for petrographic analysis and strength determination in laboratory. L-and N-type Schmidt hammers were applied in the directions perpendicular(anisotropy angle of 0°) and parallel(anisotropy angle of 90) to the foliation on selected blocks of phyllite, schist, gneiss and marble(calcschist). The phyllite and schist have higher porosity and lower density values than the other rocks. However, coarse crystalline gneiss and marble(calcschist) have higher rebound values and strengths, and they are classified as strong-very strong rocks. generally, the rebound values in the direction perpendicular to the foliation are slightly higher than that in the direction parallel to foliation. Rebound values of N-type Schmidt hammer are higher than the L-type values except for phyllite. Sometimes, the rebound values of laboratory and field applications gave different results. This may result from variable local conditions such as minerals differentiation,discontinuities, water content, weathering degree and thickness of foliated structure.

A new method for growing silicon nanowires is presented. They were grown in an aqueous solution at a temperature of 85℃ under atmospheric pressure by using sodium methylsiliconate as a water-soluble silicon precursor. The structure, morphology, and composition of the as-grown nanowires were characterized by scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, and energy dispersive X-ray spectrometry. It was also confirmed by X-ray powder diffraction and Raman spectroscopy that the silicon nanowire has a hexagonal structure. It was possible to grow the crystalline silicon nanowires at low temperature under atmospheric pressure because potassium iodide, which was used as a gold etchant, sufficiently increased the surface energy and reactivity of gold as a metal catalyst for the reaction of the Si precursor even at low temperature.

The error of single step-ahead output prediction is the information traditionally used to correct the state estimate while exploiting the new measurement of the system ***,its dynamics and statistical properties can be further studied and exploited in other *** is known that in the case of suboptimal state estimation,this output prediction error forms a correlated sequence,hence it can be effectively predicted in real *** a suboptimal scenario is typical in applications where the process noise model is not known or it is ***,the paper deals with the problems of analytical and empirical modeling,identification,and prediction of the output error of the suboptimal state estimator for the sake of improving the output prediction accuracy and ultimately the performance of the model predictive *** improvements are validated on an empirical model of type 1 diabetes within an in-silico experiment focused on glycemia prediction and implementation of the MPC-based artificial pancreas.

The bacterium Rhodococcus erythropolis MI2 uses 4,4´-dithiodibutyric acid(DTDB)as carbon source to synthesize polythioesters(PTE).The first step for the production of PTE using DTDB is catalyzed by an NADH:flavin oxidoreductase(nox)as it was previously shown in our laboratory,and the second step is catabolized by a putative luciferase-like monooxygenase(Llm).In the current study,experiments were carried out to identify the function of ***,the llm gene,which encodes for the Llm protein,was amplified from the genomic DNA of MI2 using polymerase chain reaction and expressed in Escherichia coli BL21 *** purification was done using His Spin Trap affinity *** assay was carried out using the purified protein and p-coumaric acid as substrate giving a specific activity of 1.6 U/mg protein for the purified *** responsible gene(llm)was deleted in the genome of MI2,and a single deletion mutant was subsequently ***,growth of the wild-type strain(MI2)and the mutant strain(MI2Δllm)were compared using DTDB or succinate as carbon *** the wild type was successfully grown with DTDB or succinate,the llm-negative mutant exhibited low grow with DTDB although it grows very well with succinate.

The paper examines the existence of such labelings for disjoint union of plane graphs.

The study deals with adsorption of Naphthol green B on two unburned carbons and the parent coal,from which the UCs have been created in a fluidised-bed power *** attention has been paid to the adsorption equilibrium modelling:experimental data has been analysed using 2-parameter(Langmuir,Freundlich) and3-parameter(Redlich-Peterson) isotherms — both linear and non-linear regressions have been used for the estimation of the isotherm *** the case of both UCs,the Langmuir isotherm model provides the worst fit,whereas 2-parameter Freundlich and 3-parameter Redlich-Peterson models are both good,from which 3-parameter Redlich-Peterson isotherm provides slightly better results(despite the penalty used for the higher number of parameters).In the case of both UCs,the linear regression of Freundlich and Redlich-Peterson models provides good results(comparable with non-linear regressions).Unlike both UCs,the best fit of the experimental data from the adsorption on the coal has been achieved by the Langmuir isotherm *** results based on the Freundlich or Redlich-Peterson model were(in this case) somewhat worse.
