A loopless graph on n vertices in which vertices are connected at least by a and at most by b edges is called a(a,b,n)-graph. A(b,b,n)-graph is called(b,n)-graph and is denoted by K_n^b(it is a complete graph), its complement by K_n^b. A non increasing sequence π =(d_1,…,d_n) of nonnegative integers is said to be(a,b,n) graphic if it is realizable by an(a,b,n)-graph. We say a simple graphic sequence π=(d_1,…,d_n) is potentially K_4-K_2∪K_2-graphic if it has a a realization containing an K_4-K_2∪K_2 as a subgraph where K_4 is a complete graph on four vertices and K_2∪K_2 is a set of independent edges. In this paper, we find the smallest degree sum such that every n-term graphical sequence contains K_4-K_2∪K_2 as subgraph.

Objective To assess the diagnostic value of chest radiographs in patients presenting to a busy inner-city Emergency Department with subsequently proven acute aortic dissection. Methods A retrospective review of initial chest radiographs and charts of patients with the confirmed diagnosis of acute aortic dissection was done for a period of 5 years from 1998 to 2003. A comparison was made between the initial readings of chest radiographs prior to confirmation of the aortic dissection, and a retrospective review of the same radiographs by two board-certified radiologists with special attention to the classic findings of acute aortic dissection identifiable on plain films. Results The charts of nine patients (four men, five women) with proven acute aortic dissection were reviewed. All nine patients were suspected of having acute aortic dissection based on presenting history and symptoms of chest pain (66% ), migratory pain (89% ), back pain (89% ), and the abruptness of onset of pain (89% ). Initial plain portable chest X-rays were obtained in the Emergency Department in all nine patients. Six of nine (67%) radiographs were read as normal, while three (33%) demonstrated a widened mediastinum (＞ 8.0cm), two (22%) showed an abnormal aortic contour, with one ( 11% ) displaying an apical cap. Confirmation of the diagnosis was obtained with either a spiral CT angiogram or transesophageal echocardiography (TEE). All nine plain radiographs were retrospectively reviewed by two board-certified radiologists aware of the diagnosis of acute dissection without a change in the readings. Conclusions Plain portable chest radiographs are of limited usefulness for the screening of acute aortic dissection. Further radiologic evaluation should be dictated by the clinical presentation and an awareness of the low sensitivity of portable chest X- rays.

Congenital pulmonary adenomatoid malformation (CPAM) is a congenital lung malformation that is distinguished by abnormal airway patterning during branching morphogenesis. It may lead to significant morbidity and mortality in infants due to complications such as pulmonary infections, lung hypoplasia, respiratory distress, and fetal hydrops. The diagnosis is usually prenatal thanks to morphological ultrasound;in postnatal, the anomaly may remain asymptomatic or show respiratory signs or complications. The postnatal diagnosis is based on computed tomography. In this article, we report a case of congenital pulmonary adenomatoid malformation in a 7-month-old patient who presented respiratory distress that is due to voluminous infected pleural effusion. The diagnosis of CPAM was suspected at the initial CT and confirmed at the control CT that was realized after treatment of the infection. The therapeutic management of CPAM is depending on the severity of complications and its evolution.

系统地研究了拔风管式自然通风型人工湿地(naturally-ventilated constructed wetland,CWNV)在不同风速(u≤4.0 m·s^(-1))条件下的氧传质速率(oxygen transfer rate,OTR)以及对有机物、氮、磷的去除效果。结果表明,外部空气可通过拔风管上的孔口有效地扩散并溶解到湿地内部。与无通风CW系统(CW0)相比,CWNV内部OTR(61.38~78.30 g·(m^(3)·d)^(-1))较CW0高出19.3%~33.5%,从而强化了CWNV中氨化、硝化和有机物好氧降解等过程。CWNV内NH3-N和COD的去除负荷分别为2.84~4.57 g·(m^(3)·d)^(-1)和45.0~56.6 g·(m^(3)·d)^(-1),较CW0分别提高了90.5%~119.6%和11.9%~23.2%。CWNV出水中硝酸盐浓度为1.10~10.39 mg·L^(-1),而CW0出水中硝酸盐浓度仅为0.41~0.91 mg·L^(-1)。在适宜的风速条件下,湿地中可同时存在好氧与缺氧/厌氧环境,这既利于硝化作用又利于反硝化作用,从而可使湿地获得较好的TN去除效果。当风速u≤1.0 m·s^(-1)时,CWNV系统中TN去除负荷6.70~6.77 g·(m^(3)·d)^(-1),较CW0系统高出17.2%~23.1%。但是,自然通风对于TP去除效果的提高十分有限,仅能提高2.4%~4.8%的TP去除率。此外,CWNV系统中风速与OTR、COD、NH3-N和TN的去除负荷及其降解速率常数之间的关系符合二次方程。

Cystic duct cysts are rare lesions, and type VI of TODANI’s modified classification is the rarest subtype with only sporadic case reports in the literature. The following report describes the coexistence of this entity and type 1 tyrosinemia in a one month-old infant referred to our department for etiological investigations of prolonged neonatal cholestasis. To the best of our knowledge, we report herein the first case in the literature describing this association. Cystic duct abnormalities should be considered in the differential diagnosis of neonatal cholestases, however further investigations should be performed to exclude associated life-threatening conditions such as metabolic disorders including tyrosinemia.
