Automatic sub-pixel co-registration of Landsat-8 Operational Land Imager and Sentinel-2A Multi-Spectral Instrument images using phase correlation and machine learning based mapping

This study investigates misregistration issues between Landsat-8/Operational Land Imager and Sentinel-2A/Multi-Spectral Instrument at 30 m resolution,and between multi-temporal Sentinel-2A images at 10 m resolution using a phase-correlation approach and multiple transformation ***-registration of 45 Landsat-8 to Sentinel-2A pairs and 37 Sentinel-2A to Sentinel-2A pairs were *** correlation proved to be a robust approach that allowed us to identify hundreds and thousands of control points on images acquired more than 100 days ***,misregistration of up to 1.6 pixels at 30 m resolution between Landsat-8 and Sentinel-2A images,and 1.2 pixels and 2.8 pixels at 10 m resolution between multi-temporal Sentinel-2A images from the same and different orbits,respectively,were *** non-linear random forest regression used for constructing the mapping function showed best results in terms of root mean square error(RMSE),yielding an average RMSE error of 0.07±0.02 pixels at 30 m resolution,and 0.09±0.05 and 0.15±0.06 pixels at 10 m resolution for the same and adjacent Sentinel-2A orbits,respectively,for multiple tiles and multiple conditions.A simpler 1st order polynomial function(affine transformation)yielded RMSE of 0.08±0.02 pixels at 30 m resolution and 0.12±0.06(same Sentinel-2A orbits)and 0.20±0.09(adjacent orbits)pixels at 10 m resolution.

Nanoindentation Mechanical Properties and Structural Biomimetic Models of Three Species of Insects Wings

Mimicking insect flights were used to design and develop new engineering materials. Although extensive research was done to study various aspects of flying insects. Because the detailed mechanics and underlying principles involved in insect flights remain largely unknown. A systematic study was carried on insect flights by using a combination of several advanced techniques to develop new models for the simulation and analysis of the wing membrane and veins of three types of insect wings, namely dragonfly （Pantala flavescens Fabricius）, honeybee （Apis cerana cerana Fabricius） and fly （Sarcophaga carnaria Linnaeus）. In order to gain insights into the flight mechanics of insects, reverse engineering methods were used to establish three-dimensional geometrical models of the membranous wings, so we can make a comparative analysis. Then nano-mechanical test of the three insect wing membranes was performed to provide experimental parameter values for mechanical models in terms of nano-hardness and elastic modulus. Finally, a computational model was established by using the finite element analysis （ANSYS） to analyze and compare the wings under a variety of simplified load regimes that are concentrated force, uniform line-load and a torque. This work opened up the possibility towards developing an engineering basis for the biomimetic design of thin solid films and 2D advanced engineering composite materials.

Universe and Matter Conjectured as a 3-Dimensional Lattice with Topological Singularities

One fundamental problem of modern physics is the search for a theory of everything able to explain the nature of space-time, what matter is and how matter interacts. There are various propositions, as grand Unified Theory, Quantum gravity, Supersymmetry, String and Superstring Theories, and M-Theory. However, none of them is able to consistently explain at the present and same time electromagnetism, relativity, gravitation, quantum physics and observed elementary particles. In this paper, one summarizes the content of a new book, published in English [2] and in French [3], in which it is suggested that Universe could be a massive elastic 3D-lattice, and that fundamental building blocks of Ordinary Matter could consist of topological singularities of this lattice, namely diverse dislocation loops and disclination loops. For an isotropic elastic lattice obeying Newton’s law, with specific assumptions on its elastic properties, one obtains the result that the behaviours of this lattice and of its topological defects display “all” known physics, unifying electromagnetism, relativity, gravitation and quantum physics, and resolving some longstanding questions of modern cosmology. Moreover, studying lattices with axial symmetries, represented by “colored” cubic 3D-lattices, one has identified a lattice structure whose topological defect loops coincide with the complex zoology of elementary particles, which could open a very promising field of research. Here, only main steps and principal results of the new theory are presented and discussed, without showing the mathematical concepts and developments contained in the book.

Preliminary study of a dispersed fringe type sensing system

Telescopes with large aspherical primary mirrors collect more light and are therefore sought after by astronomers. Instead of using a single large one-piece mirror, smaller segments can be assembled into a useable telescopic primary. Because the segments must fit together to create the effect of a single mirror, segmented optics present unique challenges to the fabrication and testing that are absent in monolithic optics. A dispersed fringe sensor （DFS） using a broadband point source is an efficient method for cophasing and is also highly automated and robust. Unlike the widely adopted Shack- Hartmann Wavefront sensor and curvature wavefront sensor with edge sensors for calibration of relative pistons, DFS can estimate the piston between segments by only using the spectrum formed by the transmissive grating＇s dispersion, and therefore can replace the edge sensors, which are difficult to calibrate. We introduce the theory of the DFS and Dispersed Hartmann Sensor （DHS） for further utilization of the coarse phasing method of DFS. According to the theory, we bring out the preliminary system design of the cophasing experimental system based on DFS and DHS which is now established in our institute. Finally, a summary is reached.

We previously demonstrated the safety and efficacy of fluoroquinolone-macrolide combination therapy in category Ⅱ chronic bacterial prostatitis （CBP）. The aim of this study is to retrospectively compare the microbiological and clinical findings of two treatment schemes for CBP based on the combination of azithromycin （500 rag, thrice-weekly） with a once-daily 500- or 750-mg dose of ciprofloxacin （Cipro-500 or Cipro-750 cohort, respectively）. Combined administration of azithromycin （1500 mg week^-1） with ciprofloxacin at the rate of 750 mg day^- 1 for 4 weeks rather than at 500 mg day^- 1 for 6 weeks increased the eradication rates from 62.35% to 77.32% and the total bacteriological success from 71.76% to 85.57%. A significant decrease in pain and voiding signs/symptoms and a significant reduction in inflammatory leukocyte counts and serum prostate-specific antigen （PSA） were sustained throughout an 18-month follow-up period in both groups. Ejaculatory pain, haemospermia and premature ejaculation were significantly attenuated on microbiological eradication in both groups, but the latter subsided more promptly in the Cipro-750 cohort. In total, 59 Cipro-750 patients showed mild-to-severe erectile dysfunction （ED） at baseline, while 22 patients had no ED on microbiological eradication and throughout the follow-up period. In conclusion fluoroquinolone-macrolide therapy resulted in pathogen eradication and CBP symptom attenuation, including pain, voiding disturbances and sexual dysfunction. A once-daily 750-mg dose of ciprofloxacin for 4 weeks showed enhanced eradication rates and lower inflammatory white blood cell counts compared to the 500-mg dose for 6 weeks. Our results are open to further prospective validation.

半结晶高聚物中的电树枝特性远比纯脆性或柔性聚合物复杂,源于材料中的结晶区和无定形区两相共存。在厚绝缘交联聚乙烯(XLPE)中还存在不均匀结晶和微孔高度集中,以及残存应力,导致电树枝特性更加复杂。本文提出利用生长速度比和扩展系数两个新参数来研究XLPE中的电树枝生长规律。根据XLPE电缆绝缘中电树枝结构特征和生长特性,研究了电树枝的影响因素和绝缘中的四种亚微观绝缘结构弱点,分析了微孔集中、大球晶边界及结晶排渣、应力、电场局部集中所导致的电树枝在绝缘内侧的迅速扩展现象,提出了超高压XLPE电缆发展所必须解决的亚微观绝缘结构缺陷在电缆绝缘内侧集中问题及其对策。

Quasi-isotropic laminates have isotropic elastic properties in all in-plane directions. Therefore, this kind of laminate is widely used for structural elements. The simplest stacking sequence of quasi-isotropic laminates is [0/-60/60]s. When the direction of applied axial load to [0/-60/60]S laminate is inclined at a 30-degree angle, we have the other quasi-isotropic laminate [30/-30/90]s under axial load. The failure mechanisms of these two laminates are, however, entirely different from each other because these two laminates have different distribution of the interlaminar stresses. It was confirmed by tensile fatigue tests that the [0/-60/60]s laminate does not show any visible fatigue damage, but the [30/-30/90]s laminate develops edge-delamination during cyclic loading. The analytical results were in good agreement with the experimental results.

为研究Kiewitt 8型单层球面网壳在爆炸荷载下的动力响应,基于LS-DYNA建立了爆炸中考虑附属结构(檩托,檩条,铆钉和屋面板)影响的40 m单层球面网壳结构有限元模型。通过分析相同爆炸荷载下不同结构矢跨比,构件尺寸和材料属性等参数对结构响应的影响,得到了球面网壳的矢跨比、杆件截面、屋面板厚度及屋面活荷载等是影响结构动力响应的主要因素。在此基础上,通过讨论相同结构在不同爆炸作用下的结构破坏及倒塌情况,提出了单层球面网壳在外爆荷载下安全距离的计算方法,为更好地建立网壳结构的抗爆设计方法和安全评估理论提供了依据。

The impact of synbiotic administration through in ovo technology on the microstructure of a broiler chicken small intestine tissue on the 1^(st) and 42^(nd) day of rearing

Background： Application the innovative method which is in ovo technology provides a means of modulating the immune system at early embryonic stages. The aim of study was to determine influence of the in ovo stimulation, on d12 of incubation, with synbiotics（synbiotic 1-L. salivarius IBB3154 ＋ Bi^2tos, Clasado Ltd. and the synbiotic 2-L. plantarum IBB3036 ＋ lupin RFOs） on the microstructure of duodenum, jejunum and ileum in the 1^（st） and 42^（nd）day of ***： On the 1^（st） day of chickens life, in the duodenum of both experimental groups（SYN1 and SYN2）, a significantly higher and wider intestinal vil i as wel as a significantly larger absorbent surface of these villi were found in comparison with the Control group（P ≤ 0.01）. On the 42^（nd）day of rearing the beneficial effect of synbiotic 1 was reflected by the numerical y higher vil i（no statistical differences） with a larger surface（P ≤ 0.01） in the duodenum in the SYN1 group compare to the Control group. In the jejunum on the 1^（st） day of life, in the SYN1 group, significantly higher vil i than in the Control group, with a simultaneous decrease in the depth of crypts（P ≤ 0.01）, and also the largest width of vil i and their absorbent area（P ≤ 0.01） in comparison to the other groups were found. On the 42^（nd）day of life, in the jejunum, an increase in the height of the vil i whilst reducing the crypt depth in the SYN2 group was found（P ≤ 0.01）. In turn, in the SYN1 group, there were significantly more neutral goblet cel s observed compared with the control group（P ≤ 0.05）. In the ileum of 1-day-old chickens, the widest vil i（P ≤ 0.05） and the deepest crypts（P ≤ 0.01） were found in the SYN2 group. In the same group, there was also the least amount of neutral goblet cel s in comparison to the other groups（P ≤ 0.05）.Conclusions： We observed that synbiotic 1 and 2 beneficial y affected the examined characteristics on the 1^（st） and 42^（nd） day of life.
