Investig.tion of Structural, Rheolog.cal and Thermal Properties of PMMA/ONi-Al LDH Nanocomposites Synthesized via Solvent Blending.Method: Effect of LDH Loading

This article addresses the synthesis of org.nically tailored Ni-A1 layered double hydroxide （ONi-A1 LDH） and its use in the fabrication of exfoliated poly（methyl methacrylate）（PMMA） nanocomposites. The pristine Ni-AI LDH was initially synthesized by co-precipitation method and subsequently modified using.sodium dodecyl sulfate to obtain ONi-A1 LDH. Nanocomposites of PMMA containing.various amounts of modified Ni-A1 LDH （3 wt%-7 wt%） were synthesized via solvent blending.method to investig.te the influence of LDH content on the properties of PMMA matrix. Several characterization methods such as X-ray diffraction （XRD）, transmission electron microscopy （TEM）, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy （FTIR）, rheolog.cal analysis, differential scanning.calorimetry （DSC） and thermo g.avimetric analysis （Tg.）, were employed to examine the structural, viscoelastic and thermal properties of PMMA/OLDH nanocomposites. The results of XRD and TEM examination confirm the formation of partially exfoliated PMMA/OLDH nanocomposites. The FTIR results elucidate that the characteristic bands for both pure PMMA and modified LDH are present in the spectra of PMMA/OLDH nanocomposites. Rheolog.cal analyses were carried out to examine the adhesion between polymer matrix and fillers present in the nanocomposite sample. The Tg. data indicate that the PMMA nanocomposites exhibit hig.er thermal stability when compared to pure PMMA. The thermal decomposition temperature of PMMA/OLDH nanocomposites increases by 28 K compared to that of pure PMMA at 15% weig.t loss as a point of reference. In comparison with pure PMMA, the PMMA nanocomposite containing.7 wt% LDH demonstrates improved g.ass transition temperature （Tg. of around 3 K. The activation energ. （Ea）, reaction orders （n） and reaction mechanism of thermal deg.adation of PMMA/OLDH nanocomposites were evaluated using.different kinetic models. Water uptake capacity of the PMMA/OLDH nanocomposites is less than that of the pure PMMA.

This study aims to optimize the input parameters such as mass fraction and particle size of SiC along.with depth of cut,feed and cutting.speed in the milling.of Al5059/SiC/MoS2.The hybrid metal matrix composites are g.nerally fabricated by reinforcing.of different sizes(10,20,40 μm)of SiC with aluminium at a different levels(5%,10%& 15%)whereas the MoS2 addition is fixed as 2%.The effect of each control factor on response variables are analyzed throug. Tag.chi S/N ratio method.Also,the most sig.ificant method for prediction of response parameters is satisfied by ANN model than the reg.ession model.Analysis of variance(ANOVA)results envisag. that mass fraction of SiC,feed rate is the most domineering.factor on response variable.

Can palliative radiotherapy influence prostate-specific antig.n response in patients with castrate-resistant prostate cancer treated with systemic therapy(chemotherapy or abiraterone)?——a report of three cases

Palliative radiotherapy(pRT) is primarily employed for palliation of bone pain in patients with castrate-resistant prostate cancer(CRPC). However, evidence that p RT influences prostate-specific antig.n response in patients with CRPC on systemic therapy is lacking. We describe three cases of CRPC prog.essing.after treatment with docetaxel(n=2) and abiraterone(n=1), who responded unusually after p RT for bone pain with the development of a sig.ificant biochemical response and restoration of response to systemic therapy. The possibility of p RT influencing.metastatic disease in CRPC has not been previously reported, and raises the possibility of radiation-induced modulation of anti-tumor immune response mechanisms that may play a role in the restoration of response to systemic treatment.
