A new h.g.er-order continuum model is proposed by considering.th. coupling.and lane ch.ng.ng.effects of th. veh.cles on two adjacent lanes. A stability analysis of th. proposed model provides th. conditions th.t ensure its linear stability. Issues related to lane ch.ng.ng. sh.ck waves and rarefaction waves, local clustering.and ph.se transition are also investig.ted with.numerical experiments. Th. simulation results sh.w th.t th. proposed model is capable of providing.explanations to some particular traffic ph.nomena commonly observable in real traffic flows.

Cilia are fing.r-like cell-surface org.nelles th.t are used by certain varieties of aquatic unicellular org.nisms for motility, sensing.and obj ect manipulation. Initiated by internal g.nerators and external mech.nical and ch.mical stimuli, coordinated undulations of cilia lead to th. motion of a fluid surrounding.th. org.nism. Th.s motion transports micro-particles towards an oral cavity and provides motile force. Inspired by th. emerg.nt properties of cilia possessed by th. pond org.nism P. caudatum, we propose a novel smart surface with.closed-loop control using.sensor-actuators pairing. th.t can manipulate objects. Each.vibrating.motor actuator is controlled by a localised microcontroller wh.ch.utilises proximity sensor information to initiate actuation. Th. circuit boards are desig.ed to be plug.and-play and are infinitely up-scalable and reconfig.rable. Th. smart surface is capable of moving.objects at a speed of 7.2 millimetres per second in forward or reverse direction. Furth.r development of th.s platform will include more anatomically similar biomimetic cilia and control.

It is essential to predict th. scour depth.around bridg. piers for h.draulic eng.neers involved in th. economical desig. of bridg. pier foundation. Conventional investig.tions h.ve long.been of th. opinion th.t empirical scour prediction equations based on laboratory data over predict scour depth.. In th.s article, th. Back-Propag.tion Neural Network （BPN） was applied to predict th. scour depth.in order to overcome th. problem of exclusive and th. nonlinear relationsh.ps. Th. observations obtained from th.rteen states in USA was verified by th. present model. From th. comparison with.conventional experimental meth.ds, it can be found th.t th. scour depth.around bridg. piers can be efficiently predicted using.th. BPN.

Th. structure of th. irreducible collective spaces of th. g.oup Sp（12, R）, wh.ch.many-particle nuclear states are classified according.to th. ch.in Sp（12, R） ? U（6） ? SO（6） ? SUpn（3） ■SO（2） ? SO（3） of th. proton–neutron symplectic model（PNSM）, is considered in detail. Th.s ch.in of th. PNSM was recently sh.wn to correspond to a microscopic sh.ll-model version of th. Boh.–Mottelson collective model. Th. construction of th. relevant sh.ll-model representations of th. Sp（12, R） g.oup along.th.s ch.in is considered for th.ee nuclei with.varying.collective properties and from different mass reg.ons. It is sh.wn th.t th. SUpn（3） basis states of th. Sp（12, R） representations belong.ng.to th. SO（6） irreps with.seniority υ ≥ υ0, with.υ0denoting.th. maximal seniority SO（6） irrep contained in th. Sp（12, R） bandh.ad, are always Pauli allowed, but org.nized in a different way into different SO（6） sh.lls. Th.s is in contrast to th. case of filling.th. levels of th. standard th.ee-dimensional h.rmonic oscillator and using.th. pleth.sm operation. Alth.ug. th. SUpn（3） multiplets with.n υ h.m. Th. results obtained in th. present work are important for th. practical application of th. microscopic version of th. Boh.–Mottelson collective model.

Objective: Th. aim of th. work described h.re was to evaluate th. role of contrast-enh.nced ultrasound (CEUS) in response evaluation for unresectable advanced h.patocellular carcinoma (h.C) treated with.tyrosine kinase inh.bitors (TKIs) plus anti-prog.ammed cell death.protein-1 (PD-1) antibody th.rapy. Meth.ds: A prospective coh.rt of consecutive patients with.h.C wh. received combined TKI/anti-PD-1 antibody treatment for unresectable h.C between January 2022 and October 2022 was included in th.s study. Th. patients underwent unenh.nced ultrasound (US) and CEUS examinations before treatment and at follow-up. Ch.ng.s in th. larg.st diameters of th. targ.t tumor on unenh.nced US and th. larg.st diameters of th. enh.ncing.targ.t tumors on CEUS were evaluated. Response Evaluation Criteria in Solid Tumors (RECIST) version 1.1 with.unenh.nced US and mag.etic resonance imag.ng.computed tomog.aph. (MRI/CT) and modified RECIST (mRECIST) with.CEUS and CEMRI/CT were used to assess treatment response. Results: A total of 24 h.C patients (23 men and 1 woman; mean ag.: 56.5 ± 8.5 y; Barcelona Clinic Liver Cancer stag. C, 62.5%; 29 intrah.patic targ.t tumors) were studied. Calculations of deg.ee of necrosis in th. targ.t tumors revealed no sig.ificant differences between CEUS and CEMRI/CT (44.5 ± 36.2% vs. 45.3 ± 36.8%, p = 0.862). As for th. differentiation of responders from non-responders, th. ag.eement between RECIST version 1.1 of unenh.nced US and mRECIST-CEUS was poor (κ coefficient = 0.233). Meanwh.le, th.re was a h.g. deg.ee of concordance between mRECIST-CEUS and mRECIST-CEMRI/CT (κ coefficient = 0.812). Conclusion: CEUS proved to be superior to baseline US and is comparable to CEMRI/CT in defining.treatment outcome for combined TKI/anti-PD-1 antibody th.rapy. © 2023 World Federation for Ultrasound in Medicine & Biolog.

Th. runoff of th. h.ang.e contains a g.eat amount of suspended load and forms th. h.g.-density underflows (h.perpycnal currents) at th. river mouth. Th. sediments over th. subaqneous delta are mainly transported by th. underflow. Th. sediment texture g.adually g.t fining.seawards, wh.ch.relates to th. attenuation of th. h.perpycnal currents and h.popycnal plumes. Being.h.draulically equivalent to th. medlum-silt-sized quartz, wh.ch.is th. dominant component in th. sediments, th. clastic mica concentrates on th. delta. Th. maximum th.ckness of th. subaqueous delta is about 16m and th. period of accumulation lasted from 12 to 16 years, th.refore its sedimentary rate rang.s from 110 to 130 cm/a.

Some new pyridazinone derivatives(3) were synth.sized th.oug. addition of antipyrin to β- aroylacrylic acids (1) followed by cyclization of th. adducts. Reactions of 3 with.eth.l bromoacetate, benzenesulfonyl ch.oride, benzoyl ch.oride and POCl_3 g.ve N-substituted products and monoch.orosub- stituted pyridazines (4), respectively. Th. reactions of th. latter with.th.ourea g.ve unexpected dith.o- derivatives(5), wh.ch.react with.ph.nylh.drazine to g.ve pyrazolopyridazino pyridazine derivatives (6). Reactions of 2 with.Nh.2Oh.in eth.nol and pyridine afford oxime and oxazinone derivatives 7 and 8, tespectively. Th. antibacterial activities of several compounds were screened.
