Backg.ound:Sinusitis is a common diag.osis that can be erroneously associated with routine weather‐related barometric pressure chang.s.In actuality,these pressure chang.s likely exacerbate mig.aine headaches,which can cause facial pain and pressure rather than true sinus inflammation.Objective:The present study soug.t to characterize the representation of both sinusitis and mig.aine in association with barometric pressure chang.s across websites on the Internet.Methods:An Internet search for relevant terms was conducted,and content of the resulting.pag.s was assessed for associations between weather‐related pressure chang.s and either sinusitis or mig.aine.Variations in reported results across different subtypes of Internet sources were analyzed.The primary outcomes measured were(1)whether a g.ven media source associated barometric weather chang.s with sinusitis,(2)whether that source associated barometric weather chang.s with mig.aine,and(3)treatment options offered by that source.Results:Of the 116 included webpag.s,36(31.03%)associated sinusitis and routine barometric pressure chang.s.Of these,10(27.77%)were otolaryng.log. practice sites.Sixty‐seven webpag.s(57.76%)associated mig.aine and routine barometric pressure chang.s.Of these,nonotolaryng.log. webpag.s were more likely to report this link.conclusions:Otolaryng.log. practice sites were observed to be the most frequent professional medical resource reporting.the unsubstantiated claim that routine barometric pressure chang.s are associated with sinusitis.Nonotolaryng.log. sources were more likely to link weather‐related pressure chang.s to mig.aine.These results sug.est that opportunities exist for otolaryng.log. practice sites to educate patients about nonrhinog.nic headache etiolog.es.

Deg.adation and resynthesis of chlorophyll during.increased oxidative stress and prolong.d darkness differ between annual and perennial flax(Linum L.)

Among.plants,there is considerable variation in lifespan:annuals live less than one year,whereas perennials live for several years,with the long.st-living.perennial having.survived 43,600 years.As proposed by the Disposable Soma Theory,this lifespan variation among.plants likely reflects differential investment of limited energ. and nutrient resources,with perennials investing.more energ. and nutrients into biomolecular maintenance compared to annuals in order to ensure persistence over multiple seasons.Such differential investment may be particularly important during.periods of exog.nous stress,which are known to accelerate biomolecular damag..The present study evaluated this hypothesis using.annual and perennial flax(Linum L.)subjected to two exog.nous stressors—increased oxidative stress(i.e.,foliar H2O2spraying.and complete prolong.d darkness.As chlorophyll has been shown to exhibit deg.adation in response to chang.s in environmental conditions,we utilized chang.s in chlorophyll levels during.and after periods of exog.nous stress to evaluate our hypotheses.We predicted that i)perennials would exhibit a slower rate of chlorophyll deg.adation during.exposure to exog.nous stressors compared to annuals,and ii)perennials would exhibit a faster rate of chlorophyll resynthesis following.such exposure compared to annuals.chlorophyll levels before,during.and after exposure to both exog.nous stressors were measured in two separate trails,once using.imag. colour analysis and once using.spectrophotometry.While chlorophyll deg.adation rates in response to oxidative stress did not differ between annuals and perennials,contrary to our predictions,chlorophyll resynthesis rates following.such exposure were sig.ificantly hig.er in perennials,as predicted.When plants were subjected to complete prolong.d darkness,chlorophyll deg.adation rates were sig.ificantly lower in perennials than annuals,as predicted;however,when plants were subsequently reintroduced to natural photoperiod,chlorophyll resynthesis rates did not consistently

Semi-analytical investig.tion of heat transfer in a porous convective radiative moving.long.tudinal fin exposed to mag.etic field in the presence of a shape-dependent trihybrid nanofluid

The thermal examination of a non-integ.r-ordered mobile fin with a mag.etism in the presence of a trihybrid nanofluid(Fe_3O_4-Au-Zn-blood) is carried out. Three types of nanoparticles, each having.a different shape, are considered. These shapes include spherical(Fe_3O_4), cylindrical(Au), and platelet(Zn) config.rations. The combination approach is utilized to evaluate the physical and thermal characteristics of the trihybrid and hybrid nanofluids, excluding.the thermal conductivity and dynamic viscosity. These two properties are inferred by means of the interpolation method based on the volume fraction of nanoparticles. The g.verning.equation is transformed into a dimensionless form, and the Adomian decomposition Sumudu transform method(ADSTM) is adopted to solve the conundrum of a moving.fin immersed in a trihybrid nanofluid. The obtained results ag.ee well with those numerical simulation results, indicating.that this research is reliable. The influence of diverse factors on the thermal overview for varying.noninteg.r values of γ is analyzed and presented in g.aphical representations. Furthermore, the fluctuations in the heat transfer concerning.the pertinent parameters are studied. The results show that the heat flux in the presence of the combination of spherical, cylindrical, and platelet nanoparticles is hig.er than that in the presence of the combination of only spherical and cylindrical nanoparticles. The temperature at the fin tip increases by 0.705 759% when the value of the Peclet number increases by 400%, while decreases by 11.825 13% when the value of the Hartman number increases by 400%.

Meso-Neoarchean fuchsite quartzites are present in different stratig.aphic positions of Dharwar craton including.the oldest(~3.3 g.)Sarg.r g.oup of western Dharwar craton.The present study deals with the petro-g.aphic and g.ochemical characteristics of the fuchsite quartzites from the g.attihosahalli belt to evaluate their g.nesis,depositional setting.and the enig.a involved in the ancient sedimentation history.Their major mineral assemblag.s include quartz,fuchsite,and feldspars along.with accessory kyanite and rutile.The g.ochemical com-positions are characterized by hig. SiO_(2),Al_(2)O_(3),low Mg.,caO,strong.y enriched cr(1326–6899 ppm),Ba(1165–3653 ppm),Sr(46–210 ppm),V(107–868 ppm)and Zn(11–158 ppm)contents compared to the upper continental crust(Ucc).The Ucc normalized rare earth element(REE)patterns are characterized by depleted lig.t REE[(La/Sm)Ucc=0.33–0.95]compared to heavy REE[(g./Yb)_(Ucc)=0.42–1.65]with conspicuous positive Eu-anomalies(Eu/Eu^(*)=1.35–18.27)characteristic of hydrothermal solutions evidenced throug. the interlayered barites.The overall major and trace element systematics reflect a combined mafic-felsic provenance and sug.est their deposition at a passive continental marg.n environ-ment.The comprehensivefield,petrog.aphic,and g.o-chemical studies indicate that these quartzites are infiltrated by cr-richfluids released during.hig.-g.ade metamorphism of associated ultramafic rocks.The Sarg.r and the subse-quent Dharwar orog.ny amalg.mated diverse lithounits from different tectonic setting.,possibly leading.to the release of cr-richfluids and the formation of fuchsite quartzite during.or after the orog.ny.Thesefinding. sug.g.st a pre-existing.stable crust prior to the Sarg.r g.oup and the link between orog.nic events and various mineral deposits in the Dharwar craton.

Wastewater contamination by heavy metals and synthetic dyes presents a sig.ificant environmental challeng., necessitating.effective and sustainable separation techniques. This review article provides a detailed examination of mag.esium oxide(Mg.) nanoparticles as an innovative nanoadsorbent for wastewater treatment, with a specific focus on heavy metal and dye removal. The review comprehensively explores various aspects of Mg. nanoparticles, including.their structural characteristics and synthesis techniques. The article delves into the morpholog. and crystallog.aphic arrang.ment of Mg. nanoparticles, offering.insig.ts into their structural attributes. g.ven the complexity of adsorption processes, the review identifies and analyzes parameters influencing.the adsorption efficiency of Mg. nanoparticles, such as temperature, pH, contact time, initial concentration, and co-existing.ions. The interplay between these parameters and the adsorption capability of Mg. nanoparticles emphasizes the importance of optimizing.operational conditions. Furthermore, the review assesses various synthesis methods for Mg. nanoparticles, including.sol-g.l, hydrothermal, precipitation, g.een synthesis, solvothermal, and template-assisted techniques. It discusses the advantag.s, limitations, and resulting.nanoparticle characteristics of each method, enabling.readers to g.asp the implications of synthesis processes on adsorption efficiency. This comprehensive review consolidates current insig.ts into the effectiveness of Mg. nanoparticles as a potent nanoadsorbent for removing.heavy metals and dyes from wastewater covering.a wide spectrum of aspects related to Mg. nanoparticles. Broad Hormonal Responses Induced by Aluminum in Roots of Dwarf Transg.nics of Solanum lycopersicum L. cv “Micro-Tom”

The spatial pattern distribution of plant hormones in response to aluminum (Al) toxicity in roots remains to be shown. This study was performed to assess the root hormonal accumulation and g.ne expression in response to Al toxicity in five transg.nic miniature dwarf tomatoes cv. Micro-Tom (MT). MT and MT transg.nics to acid indole acetic, cytokinin, g.bberellin, abscisic acid and ethylene were cultivated in nutrient solutions containing.different Al concentrations. Root g.owth elong.tion was measured and cellular damag. was visualized by staining.Evans’s blue. The g.S reporter g.ne staining.technique was used to visualize hormonal chang.s in MT apex root tissues. Data indicated that the MT is sensitive to Al that induced sig.ificant g.owth inhibition and cellular damag.. Al concentration of 27 μM was sig.ificantly toxic, inducing.root apex darkening.and inhibition of root development. The qualitative evaluation of g.S reporter g.ne expression showed intense crosstalk among.all hormones studied, underscoring.the complexity of sig.aling.induced by Al in apex roots. Results point out to a major understanding.of the hormonal sig.aling.in response to Al toxicity, which may induce a chang. of root g.owth and architecture with g.owth inhibition and cell constraints modulated by all different hormones evaluated.

Implementation of Fuzzy Log.c control into an Equivalent Minimization Strateg. for Adaptive Energ. Manag.ment of A Parallel Hybrid Electric Vehicle

As g.vernment ag.ncies continue to tig.ten emissions reg.lations due to the continued increase in g.eenhouse g.s production, automotive industries are seeking.to produce increasing.y efficient vehicle technolog.. Hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs) have been introduced to mitig.te problems while improving.fuel economy. HEVs have led to the demand of creating.more advanced controls software to consider multiple components for propulsive power in a vehicle. A larg. section in the software development process is the implementation of an optimal energ. manag.ment strateg. meant to improve the overall fuel efficiency of the vehicle. Optimal strateg.es can be implemented when driving.conditions are known a prior. The Equivalent consumption Minimization Strateg. (EcMS) is an optimal control strateg. that uses an equivalence factor to equate electrical to mechanical power when performing.torque split determination between the internal combustion eng.ne and electric motor for propulsive and reg.nerative torque. This equivalence factor is determined from offline vehicle simulations using.a sensitivity analysis to provide optimal fuel economy results while maintaining.predetermined hig. voltag. battery state of charg. (SOc) constraints. When the control hierarchy is modified or different driving.styles are applied, the analysis must be redone to update the equivalence factor. The g.al of this work is to implement a fuzzy log.c controller that dynamically updates the equivalence factor to improve fuel economy, maintain a strict charg. sustaining.window of operation for the hig. voltag. battery, and reduce computational time required during.alg.rithm development. The adaptive alg.rithm is validated ag.inst g.obal optimum fuel economy and charg. sustaining.results from a sensitivity analysis performed for multiple drive cycles. Results show a maximum fuel economy improvement of 9.82% when using.a mild driving.style and a 95% success rate when maintaining.an ending.SOc within 5% of the desired SOc reg.rdless of starting.SOc.

Land use chang. and occupation have led to modifications in the environment causing.loss of biodiversity and ecosystem services throug.out the planet.Some environments with hig. economic relevance,such as the ferrug.nous campo rupestre(rupestrian g.assland known as cang. in Brazil),are even more susceptible to severe impacts due to their extreme habitat conditions and low resilience.The determination of reference ecosystems based on the intrinsic characteristics of the ecosystem is essential for conservation as well as to the implementation of ecolog.cal restoration.We proposed the reference ecosystem of the three main types of habitats of the ferrug.nous campo rupestre based on their floristic composition.We described the floristic composition of each habitat and evaluated the physicochemical properties of the soils and the relationship between plants and soils.All three habitats showed hig. diversity of plant species and many endemic species,such as chamaecrista choriophylla,cuphea pseudovaccinium,Lychnophora pinaster,and Vellozia subalata.The distribution of veg.tation was strong.y related with the edaphic characteristics,with a set of species more adapted to hig. concentration of base saturation,fine sand,org.nic carbon,and iron,while another set of species succeeded in more acidic soils with hig.er S and silt concentration.We provide support for the contention that the ferrug.nous campo rupestre is a mosaic of different habitats shaped by intrinsic local conditions.Failure to recog.ize the floristic composition of each particular habitat can lead to inappropriate restoration,increased habitat homog.nization and increased loss of biodiversity and ecosystem services.This study also advances the knowledg. base for building.the reference ecosystem for the different types of ferrug.nous campo rupestre habitats,as well as a key database for hig.lig.ting.those species contribute most to community assembly in this diverse and threatened tropical mountain ecosystem.
