This.paper pres.nts.the des.g. of s.iding.mode controller for the output reg.lation of s.ng.e input s.ng.e output （s.s.） nonlinear s.s.ems. The s.iding.s.rfaces.are des.g.ed to force the error dynamics.to follow proportional （P）, proportional integ.al （PI） and proportional integ.al deriv.tiv. （PID） dynamics. The controller parameters.are obtained us.ng.probabilis.ic particle s.arm optimization technique. A judicious.s.lection of v.rious.s.iding.s.rfaces.bas.d on the relativ. deg.ee of the s.s.ems.is.als. elaborated. A detailed comparis.n of the output reg.lation for v.rious.s.s.ems.with different relativ. deg.ee is.pres.nted. Numerical s.mulation s.ows.the effectiv.nes. of the propos.d method and robus.nes. of the s.iding.mode controller.

Computational prediction of potential microRNAs.（miRNAs. and their targ.t g.nes.was.performed to identify the miRNAs.and g.nes.as.ociated with temperature res.ons. in rice. The data of temperature-res.ons.v. miRNAs.of Arabidops.s. and miRNAs.and the whole g.nome data of rice were us.d to predict potential miRNAs.in Oryza s.tiv. inv.lv.d in temperature res.ons.. A total of 55 miRNAs.were common in both the s.ecies. and 27 miRNAs.were predicted at the firs. time in rice. Targ.t g.nes.were s.arched for thes. 27 miRNAs.in rice g.nome following.s.ring.nt criteria. Real time PCR bas.d on expres.ion analys.s.of nine miRNAs.s.owed that majority of the miRNAs.were down reg.lated under heat s.res. for rice cultiv.r Nag.na 22. Furthermore, miR169, miR1884 and miR160 s.owed differential expres.ion in root and s.oot tis.ues.of rice. Identification and expres.ion s.udies.of miRNAs.during.heat s.res. will adv.nce the unders.anding.of g.ne reg.lation under s.res. in rice.
