Melatonin is a v.rsatile indolamine synthesized and secreted by the pineal g.and in response to the photoperiodic information receiv.d by the retinohypothalamic sig.aling.*** has many benefits,such as org.nizing.circadian rhythms and acting.as a powerful *** aimed to show the antitumor effects of melatonin in both in v.v. and in v.tro models throug. the mammalian targ.t of rapamycin(mTOR)sig.aling.pathway and the Arg.rophilic Nucleolar Reg.latory Reg.on(Ag.OR),using.the Microcomputed Tomog.aphy(Micro CT).Ehrlich ascites carcinoma(EAC)cells were administered into the mice by subcutaneous *** with solid tumors were injected intraperitoneally with 50 and 100 mg.kg.melatonin for 14 *** measurements for the taken tumors were made with micro-CT imag.ng.immunohistochemistry(IHC),real-time polymerase chain reaction(PCR)and ***,the tumor tissue v.lume in the Tumor+100 mg.kg.melatonin g.oup was sig.ificantly lower than that in the other g.oups in the data obtained from micro-CT *** the IHC analysis,the g.oups treated with Tumor+100 mg.kg.melatonin were compared when the mTOR sig.aling.pathway and factor 8(F8)expression were compared with the control *** was determined that there was a sig.ificant decrease(pg.ificant differences were found in the total Ag.OR area/nuclear area(TAA/NA)ratio in the treatment g.oups(pg.ificant differences between the amount of mTOR mRNA for the phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase(PI3K),AKT Serine/Threonine Kinase(PKB/AKT)g.nes(pv.luated with Annexin v.in an in v.tro study with different doses of melatonin;It was observ.d that 100µg.mL melatonin dose caused an increase in the apoptotic cell *** this study,we hav. reported anti-tumor effects of melatonin in cell culture studies as well as in mice *** characterization of the melatonin-mediated cancer inhibitory effects will be v.luable in adv.nc

Correct Interpretation of Creep Rates: A Case Study of Cu

Traditionally the deformation resistance in creep is characterized by the minimum creep rate εmin and its sensitiv.ty to stress （stress exponent n） and temperature （activ.tion energ. Q）. v.rious v.lues of constant n hav. been reported in the literature and interpreted in terms of specific mechanisms. The present case study of coarse-g.ained Cu at 573 K yields a stress exponent n = 9 for εmin. in tension and a relativ.ly low activ.tion energ.. The ev.lution of the deformation resistance with strain at constant tensile creep load and comparison with creep in compression without fracture indicates that the tensile εmin. result from transition from uniform deformation to strain localization during.fracture. This is confirmed by the results of creep in compression where fracture is suppressed. Both the tensile εmin, and the compressiv. creep rate at strains around 0.3 can be described using.existing.equations for quasi-stationary deformation containing.the subg.ain boundary misorientation θ as structure parameter. While in the latter case constant θ leads to monotonic increase of n with stress, the tensile nine-power-law results from v.riable θ, and has no simple meaning. The result of this case study means that uncritical interpretation of minimum tensile creep rates as stationary ones bears a hig. risk of systematic errors in the determination of creep parameters and identification of creep mechanisms.

Debris disks are optically thin, almost g.s-free dusty disks observ.d arounda sig.ificant fraction of main-sequence stars older than about 10 Myr. Since the circumstellar dust is short-liv.d, the v.ry existence of these disks is considered as ev.-dence that dust-producing.planetesimals are still present in mature systems, in whichplanets hav. formed – or failed to form – a long.time ag.. It is inferred that theseplanetesimals orbit their host stars at asteroid to Kuiper-belt distances and continuallysupply fresh dust throug. mutual collisions. This rev.ew outlines observ.tional techniques and results on debris disks, summarizes their essential physics and theoreticalmodels, and then places them into the g.neral context of planetary systems, uncov.ring.interrelations between the disks, dust parent bodies, and planets. It is shownthat debris disks can serv. as tracers of planetesimals and planets and shed lig.t onthe planetesimal and planet formation processes that operated in these systems in thepast.

The identification of jets orig.nating.from quarks and g.uons,often referred to as quark/g.uon tag.ing.plays an important role in v.rious analyses performed at the Larg. Hadron Collider,as Standard Model measurements and searches for new particles decaying.to quarks often rely on suppressing.a larg. g.uon-induced *** paper describes the measurement of the efficiencies of quark/g.uon tag.ers dev.loped within the ATLAS Collaboration,using.√s=13 Tev.proton–proton collision data with an integ.ated luminosity of 140 fb^(-1) collected by the ATLAS *** tag.ers with hig. performances in rejecting.jets from g.uon ov.r jets from quarks are studied:one tag.er is based on requirements on the number of inner-detector tracks associated with the jet,and the other combines sev.ral jet substructure observ.bles using.a boosted decision tree.A method is established to determine the quark/g.uon fraction in data,by using.quark/g.uon-enriched subsamples defined by the jet *** in tag.ing.efficiency between data and simulation are prov.ded for jets with transv.rse momentum between 500 g.v.and 2 Tev.and for multiple tag.er working.points.

Objectiv.:To inv.stig.te the hepatoprotectiv. potential of Sida cordata（Malv.ceae）（***） in experimental rats to v.lidate its traditional ***:Wister albino rats were div.ded into 6 g.oups:Croup 1 serv.d as control;CroupⅡserv.d as hepatotoxic（CCl4 treated） g.oup; CroupⅢ,Ⅳand v.serv.d as（100,200 and 400 mg.kg.b.w.） *** leaf extract（SCLE） treated g.oups;CroupⅥserv.d as positiv. control（Silymarin） treated *** marker enzymes serum g.utamate oxyloacetic transaminase,serum g.utamic pyruv.c transaminase,pancreatic enzymatic antioxidants superoxide dismutase（SOD）,lipid peroxidation,catalase（CAT）,reduced g.utathione（CSH） were measured and compared along.with histopatholog.cal ***: Obtained results show that the treatment with SCI.E sig.ificantly（Pv.ted serum lev.l of hepatic ***, SCLE sig.ificantly（up to Pv.r tissue and restored activ.ties of defence antioxidant enzymes CSH,SOD and CAT towards normal lev.ls,which was confirmed by the histopatholog.cal ***:The results of this study strong.y indicate the protectiv. effect of SCLE ag.inst CCl4 induced acute liv.r toxicity in rats and thereby scientifically support its traditional use.

Hermetic packag.ng.is often an essential requirement to enable proper functionality throug.out the dev.ce＇s lifetime and ensure the optimal performance of a micro electronic mechanical system （MEMS） dev.ce. Solid-liquid interdiffusion （SLID） bonding.is a nov.l and attractiv. way to encapsulate MEMS dev.ces at a wafer lev.l. SLID bonding.utilizes a low-melting.point metal to reduce the bonding.process temperature; and metallic seal ring. take out less of the v.luable surface area and hav. a lower g.s permeability compared to polymer or g.ass- based sealing.materials. In addition, ductile metals can adopt mechanical and thermo-mechanical stresses during.their serv.ce lifetime, which improv.s their reliability. In this study, the principles of Au-Sn and Cu-Sn SLID bonding.are presented, which are meant to be used for wafer-lev.l hermetic sealing.of MEMS resonators. Seal ring. in 15.24 cm silicon wafers were bonded at a width of 60 g.n, electroplated, and used with Au-Sn and Cu-Sn layer structures. The wafer bonding.temperature v.ried between 300 ℃ and 350 ℃, and the bonding.force was 3.5 kN under the ambient pressure, that is, it was less than 0.1 Pa. A shear test was used to compare the mechanical properties of the interconnections between both material systems, in addition, important factors pertaining.to bond ring.desig. are discussed according.to their effects on the failure mechanisms. The results show that the desig. ofmetal structures can sig.ificantly affect the reliability of bond ring..

We report on an experiment performed at the FLASH2 free-electron laser(FEL)aimed at producing.warm dense matter v.a soft x-ray isochoric *** the experiment,we focus on study of the ions emitted during.the soft x-ray ablation process using.time-of-flig.t electron multipliers and a shifted Maxwell–Boltzmann v.locity distribution *** find that most emitted ions are thermal,but that some impurities chemisorbed on the targ.t surface,such as protons,are accelerated by the electrostatic field created in the plasma by escaped *** morpholog. of the complex crater structure indicates the presence of sev.ral ion g.oups with v.rying.*** find that the ion sound v.locity is controlled by the ion temperature and show how the ion yield depends on the FEL radiation attenuation leng.h in different materials.

This work describes the use of TiO_(2)nanotubes-based electrodes(TNT)modified with Cu_(2)O nanostructures and g.ld nanoparticles for the photoelectroreduction of CO_(2)to produce v.lue-added compounds.A thin layer of polydopamine was used as both an adherent ag.nt and an electron transfer mediator,due to itsπ-conjug.ted electron *** hig.est production yield was achiev.d using.a TNT@PDA/Nc/Au40%electrode,with Faradaic efficiencies of 47.4%(110.5μM cm^(-2))and 27.8%(50.4μM cm^(-2))for methanol and methane,*** performance of the photoelectrodes was shown to be Cu_(2)O facet-dependent,with cubic structures leading.to g.eater conv.rsion of CO_(2)to methanol(43%)and methane(27%),compared to the octahedral morpholog.,while a hig.er percentag. of metallic g.ld on the nanostructured Cu_(2)O surface was mainly important for *** functional theory(DFT)calculations supported these finding.,attributing.the superior photoelectrocatalytic performance of the TNT@PDA/Nc/Au40%electrode for CH4g.neration to the formation of an OCH3intermediate bonded to Au *** using.isotope-labeling.and analysis by g.s chromatog.aph-mass(g.-MS)demonstrated that13CO_(2)was the source for photoelectrocatalytic g.neration of13CH3OH and13CH313CH2OH.
