In this study,the effects of stacked nanosheets and the surrounding.interphase zone on the resistance of the contact reg.on between nanosheets and the tunneling.conductivity of samples are evaluated with developed equations superior to those previously *** contact resistance and nanocomposite conductivity are modeled by several influencing.factors,including.stack properties,interphase depth,tunneling.size,and contact *** developed model's accuracy is verified throug. numerous experimental *** further validate the models and establish correlations between parameters,the effects of all the variables on contact resistance and nanocomposite conductivity are ***,the contact resistance is primarily dependent on the polymer tunnel resistivity,contact area,and tunneling.*** dimensions of the g.aphene nanosheets sig.ificantly influence the conductivity,which rang.s from 0 S/m to90 S/*** increased number of nanosheets in stacks and a larg.r g.p between them enhance the nanocomposite's ***,the thicker interphase and smaller tunneling.size can lead to hig.er sample conductivity due to their optimistic effects on the percolation threshold and network efficacy.

Fluidic force microscopy(FluidFM)fuses the force sensitivity of atomic force microscopy with the manipulation capabilities of microfluidics by using.microfabricated cantilevers with embedded fluidic *** innovation initiated new research and development directions in biolog.,biophysics,and material *** acquire reliable and reproducible data,the calibration of the force sensor is ***,the hollow FluidFM cantilevers contain a row of parallel pillars inside a rectang.lar *** precise spring.constant calibration of the internally structured cantilever is far from trivial,and existing.methods g.nerally assume simplifications that are not applicable to these special types of *** addition,the Sader method,which is currently implemented by the FluidFM community,relies on the precise measurement of the quality factor,which renders the calibration of the spring.constant sensitive to *** this study,the hydrodynamic function of these special types of hollow cantilevers was experimentally determined with different *** on the hydrodynamic function,a novel spring.constant calibration method was adapted,which relied only on the two resonance frequencies of the cantilever,measured in air and in a *** on these results,our proposed method can be successfully used for the reliable,noise-free calibration of hollow FluidFM cantilevers.

Wind energ. is one of the most basic forms of renewable energ.,which shows an increasing.rate of development worldwide and also at the European ***,this rapid deployment of wind farms makes the need for an impact assessment of this type of projects on the natural and man-made environment *** present paper aims to identify and assess the environmental impacts of wind farm projects in the Reg.on of Central g.eece.A modified Rapid Impact Assessment Matrix(RIAM)method is used for this *** methodolog. includes the identification of the existing.onshore wind farm projects in the study area,the appropriate modifications of the RIAM method to respond to the characteristics of the projects and the study area,the qualitative assessment of their potential impacts during.construction and operational phases and the computation of the Environmental Performance g.ade(EPg.of projects based on the pro-posed modified RIAM *** results reveal that althoug. there are some slig.t neg.tive impacts on the natural environment of the study area,the examined wind farms contribute positively both to the atmosphere and to the socio-economic environment of the *** study extends the potential for using.RIAM as a tool in environmental impact assessment studies of renewable energ. projects.

The advent of remote livestock monitoring.systems provides numerous possibilities for improving.on-farm productivity,efficiency,and *** potential application for these systems is for the detection of calving.*** study describes the integ.ation of data from multiple sensor sources,including.accelerometers,g.obal navig.tion satellite systems(g.sS),an accelerometer-derived rumination alg.rithm,a walk-over-weig. unit,and a weather station for parturition detection using.a support vector machine *** best performing.model utilised data from g.sS,the ruminating.alg.rithm,and weather stations to achieve 98.6%accuracy,with 88.5%sensitivity and 100%*** topranking.features of this model were primarily g.SS *** study provides an overview as to how various sensor systems could be integ.ated on-farm to maximise calving.detection for improved production and welfare outcomes.

This article presents the results of a study that evaluated VinclesBCN during.COVID-19. This dig.tal-based public social service aims to prevent loneliness and isolation in +65-year-old adults living.in Barcelona. Throug. service user(N = 12) and professional(N = 6) interviews and a questionnaire with service users(N = 255), we demonstrate the pivotal role of dig.tal connectedness in transforming.VinclesBCN into a lifeline during.the pandemic. The analysis revealed the importance of sociability, social support, and, especially, entertainment in coping.with pandemic fatig.e and facilitating.social connectivity and support among.users. Users eng.g.d in activities such as sharing.imag.s, song., memes, and daily g.eeting. to provide proximity, sociability, and care among.users, whether they belong.d to preexisting.g.oups or were newly introduced to the platform. It also facilitated the identification of individuals who needed companionship, comfort, or more specialized support. The finding. emphasize the sig.ificance of entertainment as a resilience-building.strateg. during.times of uncertainty. Despite the positive impact, not all users equally used the platform. Non-use was strong.y associated with being.a woman, having.a low educational level, having.preexisting.social relationships, less time of enrolment in the platform, as well as a hig. perception of loneliness, poor self-reported health, and low mood. The article underscores the need for further research into older adults' dig.tal eng.g.ment during.crises, its role in building.resilience, and advocating.for inclusive dig.tal interventions that take into account diverse older adults' needs and experiences in crisis contexts.

Building.energ. performance is a function of numerous building.*** this study,sensitivity analysis on twenty parameters is performed to determine the top three parameters that have the most sig.ificant impact on the energ. performance of *** data from two fully operational commercial building. were collected and used to develop a building.energ. model in the Quick Energ. Simulation Tool(eQUEST).The model is calibrated using.the Normalized Mean Bias Error(NMBE)and Coefficient of Variation of Root Mean Square Error(CV(RMSE))*** model satisfies the NMBE and CV(RMSE)criteria set by the American Society of Heating.Refrig.ration,and Air-Conditioning.ASHRAE)g.ideline 14,Federal Energ. Manag.ment Prog.am(FEMP),and International Performance Measurement and Verification Protocol(IPMVP)for building.energ. model *** values of the parameters are varied in two levels,and then the percentag. chang. in output is *** factorial analysis on eig.t parameters with the hig.est percentag. chang. in energ. performance is performed at two levels in a statistical software *** building.A,the top 3 parameters from the percentag. chang. method are:Heating.setpoint,cooling.setpoint and server *** fractional factorial desig.,the top 3 parameters are:heating.setpoint(p-value=0.00129),cooling.setpoint(p-value=0.00133),and setback control(p-value=0.00317).For building.B,the top 3 parameters from both methods are:Server room(pvalue=0.0000),heating.setpoint(p-value=0.00014),and cooling.setpoint(p-value=0.00035).If the best values for all top three parameters are taken simultaneously,energ. efficiency improves by 29%for building.A and 35%for building.B.
