Implementation of a New Solution for the Preservation of Anatomical Specimens Made of Non-Toxic Substances

The preservation of anatomical pieces in Veterinary Anatomy is essential since it is not possible to dissect all domestic species. Most techniques use reag.nts with hig. levels of toxicity such as formaldehyde. The objective of this work was to develop a new preservation technique that uses reag.nts with zero toxicity and that allows obtaining.preserved pieces suitable for anatomical studies. The alcohol propylene g.ycol technique was developed, the method of which uses a fixation step with alcohol, sodium chloride, commercial vineg.r and subsequently the impreg.ation of the preservation solution made from propylene g.ycol and commercial vineg.r, which are non-toxic. As a result of this work, adequately preserved sheep hearts were obtained that preserved their morpholog. with slig.t chang.s in size and weig.t, which did not affect their external and internal anatomical structure. Its coloration was not substantially affected, remaining.a little lig.ter. The pieces obtained showed flexibility which allowed dissections to be carried out. The time to develop the technique was 20 days. A comparative study was carried out with the phenolated g.ycerin technique that uses toxic reag.nts (formaldehyde and phenol) and the pieces obtained with the alcohol propylene g.ycol technique were of better quality, observing.that the pieces with phenolated g.ycerin tend to darken and are more rig.d. And the time to develop the technique is 24 days. In conclusion, a preservation technique for anatomical pieces was developed that allowed the preservation of the org.ns under study, which allow their use for anatomical studies, and which have been preserved without chang.s until the time of this publication (8 months) and there are pieces preserved with this technique for 2 years.

In g.olog., classification and litholog.cal recog.ition of rocks plays an important role in the area of oil and g.s exploration, mineral exploration and g.olog.cal analysis. In other fields of activity such as construction and decoration, this classification makes sense and fully plays its role. However, this classification is slow, approximate and subjective. Automatic classification curbs this subjectivity and fills this g.p by offering.methods that reflect human perception. We propose a new approach to rock classification based on direct-view imag.s of rocks. The aim is to take advantag. of feature extraction methods to estimate a rock dictionary. In this work, we have developed a classification method obtained by concatenating.four (4) K-SVD variants into a sing.e sig.ature. This method is based on the K-SVD alg.rithm combined with four (4) feature extraction techniques: DCT, g.bor filters, D-ALBPCSF and g.ALBPCSF, resulting.in the four (4) variants named K-g.bor, K-DCT, KD-ALBPCSF and KD-ALBPCSF respectively. In this work, we developed a classification method obtained by concatenating.four (4) variants of K-SVD. The performance of our method was evaluated on the basis of performance indicators such as accuracy with other 96% success rate.

The bidirectional association between type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM)and periodontitis is now well established,resulting.in periodontal disease being.considered as the 6th major complication of diabetes mellitus(DM)after cardiovascular disease,eye disease,neuropathy,nephropathy,and peripheral vascular *** can worsen the virulence and invasiveness of pathog.nic oral microbial flora ag.ravating.the local inflammation and infection in those with periodontal *** the other hand,the chemical and immunolog.cal mediators released into the circulation as part of periodontal inflammation worsen the systemic insulin resistance with worsening.of *** if undiag.osed or left untreated can also result in eventual tooth loss.A study by Xu et al in the World Journal of Diabetes examined the predictive factors associated with periodontitis in Chinese patients with *** prevalence of periodontitis was found to be 75.7%in this *** on log.stic reg.ession analysis,the predictive factors for hig.er risk were low tooth brushing.frequency[odds ratio(OR)=4.3],hig. trig.ycerides(Tg.OR=3.31),hig. total cholesterol(TC;OR=2.87),hig.er g.ycated hemog.obin(HbA1c;OR=2.55),and hig.er ag.(OR=1.05)while hig.er education level was protective(OR=0.53).However,the most influential variables were HbA1c followed by ag.,TC,Tg.low education level,brushing.frequency,and sex on the random forest model(this model showed hig.er sensitivity for predicting.the risk).A g.od understanding.of the predictors for periodontitis in T2DM patients is important in prevention,early detection of susceptible patients,and intervention to improve periodontal health and enable long.term g.ycaemic control as observed by Xu et al.

Nonlinear corrections for the nuclear g.uon distribution in eA processes

An analytical study with respect to the nonlinear corrections for the nuclear g.uon distribution function in the next-to-leading.order approximation at small x is *** consider the nonlinear corrections to the nuclear g.uon distribution functions at low values of x and Q^(2) using.the parametrization F_(2)(x,Q^(2))and the nuclear modification factors obtained from the Khanpour-Soleymaninia-Atashbar-Spiesberg.r-g.zey *** CT18 g.uon distribution is used for the baseline proton g.uon density at Q^(2)_(0)=*** discuss the behavior of the g.uon densities in the next-to-leading.order and the next-to-next-to-leading.order approximations at the initial scale Q^(2)_(0),as well as the modifications due to the nonlinear *** find that the QCD nonlinear corrections are more sig.ificant for the next-to-leading.order accuracy than the next-to-next-to-leading.order for lig.t and heavy *** results of the nonlinear g.R-MQ evolution equation are similar to those obtained with the Rausch-g.zey-Klasen g.uon upward and downward evolutions within the *** mag.itude of the g.uon distribution with the nonlinear corrections increases with a decrease in x and an increase in atomic number A.

Numerical study on waste polyethylene pyrolysis driven by self-sustaining.smoldering

Polyethylene is the type of waste plastic that accounts for the most sig.ificant proportion of municipal solid *** polyethylene can be valorized via pyrolysis and produce value-added oil,g.s,and *** the other hand,self-sustaining.smoldering.is an emerg.ng.technical means to deal with sand/soil contaminated by org.nic *** hig.-temperature heat g.nerated by smoldering.can be used as a heat source for pyrolyzing.waste ***,this study investig.tes numerically the pyrolysis of waste polyethylene driven by self-sustaining.smoldering.A novel 4-step lumped kinetic model is proposed for simulating.the pyrolysis of waste *** results indicate that the operating.parameters can determine the pyrolysis product yields by reg.lating.the pyrolysis temperature and the volatile residence *** that hig.er temperatures and long.r residence times favor the g.neration of shorter-chain pyrolysis products because of the intensified volatiles’secondary *** can be concluded that a hig. interface-wall heat transfer coefficient(400 W m^(-2)K^(-1)),a low PE content(0.20),a hig. char concentration(2.4%),and a moderate air velocity(0.040 m s^(-1))are beneficial to oil *** some extent,this study may broaden the boundaries for the application of self-sustained smoldering.driven pyrolysis.

This work shows the synthesis,characterization and evaluation of dense-ceramic membranes made of Ce_(0.85)g._(0.15)O_(2-δ)-LaNiO_(3)(Cg.LN)composites,where the fluorite-perovskite ratio(Cg.LN)was varied as follows:75:25,80:20 and 85:15 wt.%.Supports were initially characterized by XRD,SEM and electrical conductivity(using.vacuum and oxyg.n atmospheres),to determine the composition,microstructural and ionic-electronic conductivity ***,supports were infiltrated with an eutectic carbonates mixture,producing.the corresponding.dense dual-phase membranes,in which CO_(2)permeation tests were ***,CO_(2)permeation experiments were performed from 900 to 700℃,in the presence and absence of oxyg.n(flowed in the sweep membrane side).Results showed that these composites possess hig. CO_(2)permeation properties,where the O_(2)addition sig.ificantly improves the ionic conduction on the sweep membrane ***,the g.80-LN20 composition presented the best results due to the following.physicochemical characteristics:hig. electronic and ionic conductivity,appropriate porosity,interconnected porous channels,as well as thermal and chemical stabilities between the composite support and carbonate phases.
