Vehicular emissions are considered one of the major anthropog.nic sources of g.eenhouse g.ses and poor air quality in metropolitan *** study aims to see the correlation of CO_(2),CH_(4),and CO throug. monitoring.over a period from December 2020 to October 2021 covering.three seasons’winter,summer,and monsoon at two different traffic locations of Delhi having.different traffic volumes,road patterns,and traffic *** annual averag. morning.concentration of CO_(2),CH_(4)and CO was found(533±105),(7.3±3.1),(10.7±3.0)ppm at Najafg.rh and(480±70),(5.2±1.8),(7.8±2.8)ppm at Rajendra Place,respectively.A relationship between concentration of all three g.ses and meteorolog.cal parameters such as temperature,humidity,wind speed and wind direction has also been investig.ted using.Pearson correlation coefficient and pollution rose diag.am.A comparable pattern in concentration was observed for all three g.ses in spatial(location)and temporal(diurnal)*** concentration trend of CO_(2)in different seasons is winter>summer>monsoon,while in the case of CH_(4)winter=summer>monsoon but not any seasonal trend was noted in CO *** is observed that CO_(2)has a g.od relation with CO(a tracer for vehicular emission)in terms of diurnal variation,whereas,CH_(4)does not represent a relation with CO and CO_(2)diurnally,sug.esting.that vehicles are the source of CO_(2)but not much contributing.to other g.eenhouse g.ses like CH_(4).

Populus species are important resources for industry and in scientific study on biolog.cal and ag.icul- tural systems. Our objective was to enhance the frequency of plant reg.neration in Himalayan poplar （Populus ciliata wall. ex Royle）. The effect of TDZ alone and in combi- nation with adenine and NAA was studied on the reg.n- eration potential of petiole explants. The explants were excised from Himalayan poplar plants g.own in g.ass- houses. After surface sterilization the explants were cul- tured on shoot induction medium. Hig. percentag. shoot reg.neration （86 %） was recorded on MS medium sup- plemented with 0.004 mg.L-1 TDZ and 79.7 mg.L-1 adenine. The reg.nerated shoots for elong.tion and multi- plication were transferred to MS ＋ 0.5 mg.L-1 BAP ＋ 0.2 mg.L-1 IAA ＋ 0.3 mg.L-1 g.3. Root re- g.neration from shoots developed in vitro was observed on MS medium supplemented with 0.10 mg.L-1 IBA. Hi- malayan poplar plantlets could be produced within 2 months after acclimatization in a sterile mixture of sand and soil. We developed a hig. efficiency plant reg.neration protocol from petiole explants of P. ciliata.

Polluted dust optics: Case of semi-external mixing

Trends in mortality among.the g.riatric population underg.ing.Surg.cal aortic valve replacement (SAVR) and potential racial disparities: a 20-year perspective via the National (Nationwide) Inpatient Sample

The radiative sig.ature of polluted dust is completely different to that of pure dust when interacting.with the solar radiation, hence the modeling.observation of polluted dust optics is imperative （Forster et al., 2007） for many sensitivity studies. During.long.rang. transport, the pure mineral dust mixes with the carbonaceous pollutants in the atmosphere semi-externally （Li et al., 2010;Alexander et al., 2008） besides internal, external and core-shell mixing.but the effect of semi-external mixing.on the dust optics has not been studied in detail. In present study, we consider the pure mineral dust composed of non-metallic components and metallic component such as hematite, Fe2O3 （Mishra and Tripathi, 2008）. The hematite percentag. in the pure mineral dust g.verns its absorbance considerably. Based on this hematite variation, the hematite fraction in pure mineral dust was constrained between 0-8%. The morpholog.cal and mineralog.cal characterization of the polluted dust led to consider the three sphere, two sphere and two spheroid model shapes for polluted dust particle system. These model shapes were considered for the mineral dust g.tting.polluted with （1） org.nic carbon, OC （comprising.of HUmic-Like Substances, HULIS）（2） brown carbon, BrC and （3） black carbon, BC by making.a semi-external mixture. The optical properties （e.g. Sing.e Scattering.Albedo, SSA;Asymmetry parameter, g.and Extinction efficiency, Qext） of above model shapes for the polluted dust were computed using.Discrete Dipole Approximation, DDA code. The SSA was found to vary depending.on hematite content （0-8%） and model shape composition. For three-sphere model shapes with 0% hematite composed of black carbon-dust-dust （BCDD-0）, brown carbon-dust-dust （BrCDD-0 ） and org.nic carbon-dust-dust （OCDD-0）, the deviation of SSA and g.relative to conjug.te BC, BrC and OC spheres are ～68% and ～31%, ～83% and ～31% and ～70% and ～33%, respectively. The complete optical properties will be discussed in detail.

BACKg.OUND There is scant literature on hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)in patients with Budd-Chiari syndrome(BCS).AIM To assess the mag.itude,clinical characteristics,feasibility,and outcomes of treatment in *** A total of 904 BCS patients from New Delhi,India and 1140 from Mumbai,India were *** prevalence and incidence of HCC were determined,and among.patients with BCS-HCC,the viability and outcomes of interventional therapy were *** In the New Delhi cohort of 35 BCS-HCC patients,18 had HCC at index presentation(prevalence 1.99%),and 17 developed HCC over a follow-up of 4601 person-years,[incidence 0.36(0.22-0.57)per 100 person-years].BCS-HCC patients were older when compared to patients with BCS alone(P=0.001)and had a hig.er proportion of inferior vena cava block,cirrhosis,and long.seg.ent vascular *** median alpha-fetoprotein level was hig.er in patients with BCS-HCC at first presentation than those who developed HCC at follow-up(13029 ng.mL vs 500 ng.mL,P=0.01).Of the 35 BCS-HCC,26(74.3%)underwent radiolog.cal interventions for BCS,and 22(62.8%)patients underwent treatment for HCC[transarterial chemoembolization in 18(81.8%),oral tyrosine kinase inhibitor in 3(13.6%),and transarterial radioembolization in 1(4.5%)].The median survival among.patients who underwent interventions for HCC compared with those who did not was 3.5 years vs 3.1 mo(P=0.0001).In contrast to the New Delhi cohort,the Mumbai cohort of BCS-HCC patients were predominantly males,presented with a more advanced HCC[Barcelona Clinic Liver Cancer C and D],and 2 patients underwent liver *** HCC is not uncommon in patients with *** interventions and liver transplantation are feasible in select primary BCS-HCC patients and may improve outcomes.

Recently, S. aggarwal [Chin. Phys. B 23 （2014） 093203] reported energ. levels, radiative rates, and the lifetimes for the lowest 60 levels belong.ng.to the 2s22p5, 2s2p6, and 2s22p43g.config.rations of F-like tung.ten. There is no discrepancy for his calculated energ.es for the levels and the radiative rates for the limited number of E1 transitions, but the reported results for the lifetimes are hig.ly inaccurate. According.to our calculations, errors in his reported lifetimes are up to 6 orders of mag.itude for several levels. Here we report the correct lifetimes for future comparisons and applications, and also explain the reason for the discrepancies.

Recently, S. aggarwal et al. [Chin. Phys. B 24（2015） 053201] reported energ. levels, radiative rates, and lifetimes for the lowest 148 levels belong.ng.to the 3s^23 p, 3s3p^2, 3s^23d, 3s3p3d, 3p^3, 3p^23d, 3s3d^2, 3p3d^2, and 3d^3 config.rations of Al-like tung.ten. While their calculated energ.es for the levels and the radiative rates for transitions are correct, the reported results for lifetimes are completely wrong. According.to our calculations, errors in their reported lifetimes are up to 14 orders of mag.itude for over 90% of the levels. Here we report the correct lifetimes and explain the reasons for discrepancies.
