Sequel to compla.nts by ca.hew fa.mers on poor esta.lishment ra.e of ca.hew seedling. on reha.ilita.ed moribund ca.hew pla.ta.ions in south western Nig.ria. a.fertilizer tria. involving.the use of org.nic ma.eria.s （cow-dung. poultry dropping., cocoa.a.d kola.pod husks） compa.ed to NPK a.d control （no fertilizer） trea.ments wa. conducted on the g.owth performa.ce of ca.hew seedling. a. Iba.a., Nig.ria. The fertilizers were a.plied to supply 15 g.N seedling. in 3 replica.ions. Ca.hew seedling.g.owth pa.a.eters a.d dry ma.ter yield were determined. Fertilizers resulted to consistently g.nera. hig.er pla.t heig.t, g.rth, number of lea.es a.d lea. a.ea.compa.ed to NPK a.d control. The differences in the mea. va.ues were however not sig.ifica.tly different for g.rth but it wa. sig.ifica.t （P 〈 0.5） for pla.t heig.t, number of lea.es a.d lea. a.ea. while there wa. no pa.ticula. reg.la. trend for pla.t number of bra.ches. Pla.t root leng.hs were sig.ifica.tly hig.er using.the org.nic fertilizers tha. NPK a.d control. Simila. trend wa. obta.ned in the dry weig.t va.ues for pla.t lea., stem, root a.d tota. dry ma.ter yield. There wa. however no consistent sig.ifica.t effect on NPK usa.0} over control for a.l the pa.a.eters. It wa. therefore deduced tha. optima. g.owth performa.ce a.d better esta.lishment of ca.hew seedling. could be obta.ned with the use of org.nic fertilizers ra.her tha. inorg.nic fertilizer. The use of cocoa.pod husk followed by cow-dung.a.d poultry dropping. were outsta.ding.in better g.owth a.d dry ma.ter yield performa.ce of ca.hew seedling. a.d were a.vised for this purpose.

Objective: The a.m of the current study wa. to a.sess the impa.t of opera.ive interventions for mispla.ed device a.ong.women who opted for PPIIUCD a.d the eva.ua.ion of rea.ons for PPIUCD remova. within the follow up period of two yea.s. Desig.: a.descriptive explora.ory study wa. conducted over three months a.ong.fourteen PPIUCD a.ceptors a. a.tertia.y ca.e hea.th fa.ility in Delhi, India. Fa.e-to-fa.e & telephonic in-depth interviews were conducted with a.selected sa.ple of PPIUCD a.ceptors who ha. la.er opted for its remova.. Results: Pa.ticipa.ts (n = 14) a.0}d 24 – 40 exhibited g.nera.ly positive a.titudes towa.ds PPIUCDs indica.ing.a. indica.e a. understa.ding.of the importa.ce of PPIUCD in preventing.unintended preg.a.cies. Menstrua. disturba.ce a.d mispla.ed IUCD were ma.or rea.ons for remova.. despite their own experience necessita.ing.the remova. of IUCD, positive experience by other fa.ily members (mothers in la.) in this study helped to keep the confidence on the contra.eptive. Deciduous species were g.ouped in the fa.t a.d a.oida.ce side a.socia.ed with hig. va.ues of ma.imum photosynthetic ra.es,stoma.a. conducta.ce a.d lea. size, while everg.een species were g.ouped in the slow a.d tolera.ce side a.socia.ed with hig. photosynthetic wa.er use efficiency, lea. ma.s per a.ea. sa.wood density, Huber va.ue, lea. wa.er potentia. a. turg.r loss point a.d wa.er potentia. ca.sing.50% loss of stem hydra.lic conducta.ce. Hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs) ha.e been introduced to mitig.te problems while improving.fuel economy. HEVs ha.e led to the dema.d of crea.ing.more a.va.ced controls softwa.e to consider multiple components for propulsive power in a.vehicle. a.la.g. section in the softwa.e development process is the implementa.ion of a. optima. energ. ma.a.0}ment stra.eg. mea.t to improve the overa.l fuel efficiency of the vehicle. Optima. stra.eg.es ca. be implemented when driving.conditions a.e known a.prior. The Equiva.ent Consumption Minimiza.ion Stra.eg. (ECMS) is a. optima. control stra.eg. tha. uses a. equiva.ence fa.tor to equa.e electrica. to mecha.ica. power when performing.torque split determina.ion between the interna. combustion eng.ne a.d electric motor for propulsive a.d reg.nera.ive torque. This equiva.ence fa.tor is determined from offline vehicle simula.ions using.a.sensitivity a.a.ysis to provide optima. fuel economy results while ma.nta.ning.predetermined hig. volta.0} ba.tery sta.e of cha.g.
