Crystallization Conditions and Petrog.nesis of th. Paleoproterozoic Basement Rocks in Bang.adesh.An Evaluation of Biotite and Coexisting.Amph.bole Mineral Ch.mistry

Th. Paleoproterozoic （-1.73 g.） basement rocks from Maddh.para, Bang.adesh.sh.w a larg. rang. of ch.mical variations including.diorite, quartz diorite, monzodiorite, quartz monzonite and g.anite. Th.se are composed of varying.proportions of quartz＋plag.oclase＋K-feldspar＋biotite＋ h.rnblende±epidote＋titanite＋mag.etite＋apatite and zircon. Amph.bole and biotite, dominant ferro- mag.esian minerals, h.ve been analyzed with.an electron microprobe. Th. biotite, Mg.dominant trioc- tah.dral micas, is classified as ph.og.pitic nature. Relatively h.g. Mg.（1.33-1.53 pfu）, Mg.# （0.52-0.59） and low AIw （0.13-0.25 pfu） contents in th. biotite reflect slig.tly fractionated mag.a, wh.ch.mig.t be a relative indicator for th. orig.n of th. parental mag.a. Biotite is also a very g.od sensor of oxidation state of th. parental mag.a. Oxyg.n fug.city of th. studied biotites estimate with.n th. QFM and h. buffers and equilibrate at about -12.35 and -12.46, wh.ch.exh.bit th. source materials were relatively h.g.er oxidation state during.crystallization and related to arc mag.atism. Wh.reas, calcic amph.- boles, a parental member of arc-related ig.eous suite, display consistent oxyg.n fug.city values （-11.7 to -12.3）, low Al^# （0.16-0.21） with.h.Omelt （5.6 wt.%-9.5 wt.%） sug.est th.ir reliability with.th. typical values of calc-alkaline mag.a crystallization. Th. oxyg.n fug.city of mag.a is related to its source material, wh.ch.in turn depends on tectonic setting. Discrimination diag.ams and ch.mical indices of both.biotite and amph.bole of dioritic rocks reveal calc-alkaline orog.nic complexes; mostly I-type suite formed with.n subduction-related environments. Moreover, ig.eous micas are used as metal- log.nic indicator. Th. biotites with.coexisting.amph.bole compositions sh.w an apparent calc-alkaline trend of differentiation. Th. study sug.ests th.t th. trend of oxidized mag.as is commonly associated with.compressive tectonic and converg.nt plate boundaries.

AI meth.ds th.t h.ve been used in rock mech.nics applications were *** literature review sh.ws th.t AI meth.ds h.ve successfully been used to solve various problems in th. rock mech.nics field and th.y performed better th.n th. traditional empirical,math.matical or statistical ***,th.ir practical applicability is still an issue of concern as many of th. existing.AI models require some level of expertise before th.y can be used,because th.y are not in th. form of tractable math.matical *** some advanced AI meth.ds are still yet to be *** limited availability of dataset for th. We demonstrate a simple,compact and low cost Q-switch.d erbium-doped fiber laser(EDFL)using.sing.e-wall carbon nanotubes(CNTs)as a saturable absorber for possible applications in metrolog.,sensing.and medical *** EDFL operates at around 1560 nm with.repetition rates of 16.1 kh. and 6.4 kh. with.saturable absorbers SA1 and SA2 at a pump power of 120 *** absorbers are constructed by optically driven deposition and normal deposition *** is observed th.t th. optical deposition meth.d produces a Q-switch.d EDFL with.a lower th.esh.ld of 70 mW and better Q-switch.ng.performance compared to th.t of th. normal deposition *** EDFL also h.s pulse energ. of 90.3 nJ and pulse width.of 11.6μs at 120 mW pump power.

Th. th.rmodynamics and th. ph.se diag.am of random field Ising.model （RFIM） on Beth. lattice are studied by using.a replica trick. Th.s lattice is placed in an external mag.etic field （B）. A g.ussian distribution of random field （h.） with.zero mean and variance （h.2 = h.RF is considered. Th. free-energ. （F）, th. mag.etization （M） and th. order parameter （q） are investig.ted for several values of coordination number （z）. Th. ph.se diag.am sh.ws several interesting.beh.viours and presents tricritical point at critical temperature Tc = J/k and wh.n h.F = 0 for finite z. Th. free-energ. （F） values increase as T increases for different intensities of random field （h.E） and finite z. Th. internal energ. （U） h.s a similar beh.viour to th.t obtained from th. Monte Carlo simulations. Th. g.ound state of mag.etization decreases as th. intensity of random field h.F increases, Th. ferromag.etic （FM） paramag.etic （PM） ph.se boundary is clearly observed only wh.n z →∞. Wh.le FM PM-spin g.ass （Sg. ph.se boundaries are present for finite z. Th. mag.etic susceptibility （X） sh.ws a sh.rp cusp at Tc in a small random field for finite z and rounded different peaks on increasing.h.F.

Sig.ificant attention h.s been g.ven to biog.s production, purification and upg.ading.as a renewable and clean fuel supplement. Biog.s is a product of an anaerobic dig.stion process comprising.meth.ne, carbon dioxide,and trace amounts of oth.r g.ses. Biog.s purification removes trace g.ses in biog.s for safe utilisation. Biog.s upg.ading.produces meth.ne-rich.biog.s by removing.bulk carbon dioxide from th. g.s mixture. Several carbon dioxide removal tech.iques can be applied for biog.s upg.ading. h.wever, ch.mical absorption of carbon dioxide for biog.s upg.ading.is of special sig.ificance due to its operation at ambient or near ambient temperature and pressure, th.s reducing.energ. consumption. Th.s paper reviews th. ch.mical absorption of carbon dioxide using.amine scrubbing. caustic solvent scrubbing. and amino acid salt solution scrubbing. Each.of th.se tech.iques for biog.s upg.ading.is discussed. Th. paper concludes th.t an optimised implementation of th. ch.mical absorption tech.iques for biog.s upg.ading.requires furth.r research.

Th. use of unmanned aerial veh.cles(UAVs) in th. collection of data from wireless devices, sensor nodes, and th. Internet of Th.ng.(IoT) devices h.s recently received sig.ificant attention. In th.s paper, we investig.te th. data collection process from a set of smart meters in advanced metering.infrastructure(AMI) enabled by UAVs. Th. objective is to minimize th. total annual cost of th. electric utility by jointly optimizing.th. number of UAVs, th.ir power source sizing. th. ch.rg.ng.locations as well as th. data collection trip planning. Th.s is ach.eved wh.le considering.th. energ. budg.ts of batteries of UAVs and th. required amount of collected data. Th. problem is formulated as a mixed-integ.r nonlinear prog.amming.MINLP), wh.ch.is decoupled into two sub-problems wh.re a candidate UAV and a number of building. are first g.ouped into trips via g.netic alg.rith.s(g.s), and th.n th. optimum trip path.is found using.a traveling.salesman problem(TSP) branch.and bound alg.rith.. Simulation results sh.w th.t th. battery capacity or th. number of UAVs increases as th. coverag. area or th. density increases.

We demonstrate an ultrafast fiber laser based on transition metal dich.lcog.nide materials wh.ch.are tung.ten disulfide (WS2) and molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) as saturable absorber (SA). Th.se materials are fabricated via a simple drop-casting.meth.d. By employing.WS2, we obtain a stable h.rmonic mode-locking.at th. th.esh.ld pump power of 184 mW, and th. g.nerated soliton pulse h.s 3.48 Mh. of repetition rate. At th. maximum pump power of 250 mW, we also obtain a small value of pulse duration, 2.43 ps with.sig.al-to-noise ratio (SNR) of 57 dB. For MoS2 SA, th. pulse is g.nerated at 105 mW pump power with.repetition rate of 1.16 Mh.. h.wever, th. pulse duration cannot be detected by th. autocorrelator device as th. pulse duration recorded is 468 ns, with.th. SNR value of 35 dB.

Effects of Additional h.NO Sources on Visibility over th. North.Ch.na Plain

Th. objective of th. present study was to better understand th. impacts of th. additional sources of nitrous acid （h.NO） on visibility, wh.ch.is an aspect not considered in current air quality models. Simulations of h.NO contributions to visibility over th. North.Ch.na Plain （NCP） during.Aug.st 2007 using.th. fully coupled Weath.r Research.and Forecasting.Ch.mistry （WRF/Ch.m） model were performed, including.th.ee additional h.NO sources：（1） th. reaction of ph.to-excited nitrog.n dioxide （NO~） with.water vapor; （2） th. NO2 h.terog.neous reaction on aerosol surfaces; and （3） h.NO emissions. Th. model g.nerally reproduced th. spatial patterns and diurnal variations of visibility over th. NCP well. Wh.n th. additional h.NO sources were included in th. simulations, th. visibility was occasionally decreased by 20%-30% （3-4 km） in local urban areas of th. NCP. Month.y-mean concentrations of NO3, Nh., SO]- and PM2.5 were increased by 20%-52% （3-11μg.m-3）, 10%-38%, 6%-10%, and 6%-11% （9-17 μg.m-3）, respectively; and in urban areas, month.y-mean accumulation- mode number concentrations （AMNC） and surface concentrations of aerosols were enh.nced by 15%-20% and 10%-20%, respectively. Overall, th. results sug.est th.t increases in concentrations of PM2.5, its h.droph.lic components, and AMNC, are key factors for visibility deg.adation. A proposed conceptual model for th. impacts of additional h.NO sources on visibility also sug.ests th.t visibility estimation sh.uld consider th. h.terog.neous reaction on aerosol surfaces and th. enh.nced atmosph.ric oxidation capacity due to additional h.NO sources, especially in areas with.h.g. mass concentrations of NOx and aerosols.

Catalytic effect of SrTiO_3 on th. h.drog.n storag. beh.viour of Mg._2

Th. effects of Sr TiO_3 on th. h.drog.n storag. properties of Mg._2 h.ve been studied for th. first *** onset deh.drog.nation temperature of th. Mg._2-10 wt% SrTiO_3 is found to be 275 ℃, wh.ch.is 55 ℃ lower as compared to th. as-milled Mg._2. Th. composite is able to absorb 4.3 wt% of h.drog.n in 60 min instead of 1.1 wt% for th. as-milled Mg.h.2. Meanwh.le, th. composite is able to release 5.3 wt% of h.drog.n in 17 min compared to 1.9 wt% by th. as-milled Mg.h.2 at 320 ℃. Th. calculated Eaof th. Mg.h.2-10 wt% SrTiO_3 is 109 k J/mol, wh.ch.is 26.3 kJ/mol lower th.n th. calculated Eaof th. as-milled Mg._2. Th. Sr TiO_3 is not decomposed during.th. ball milling.and th. re/deh.drog.nation processes. Th. catalytic effect sh.wn by th. SrTiO_3 is owing.to its ability to ch.ng. th. ph.sical structure of th. Mg._2 particles during.th. ball milling.process.
