Th. paper is devoted to th. study of optimal control of a h.perbolic system,wh.re th. control enters th. system th.oug. th. *** h.perbolic system is th. wave equation on a smooth.and open domain,wh.re th. boundary condition involves th. normal derivative at th. boundary of z,th. time derivative of z times a constant k,and a nonlinear term ***,z is th. state and u is th. control,satisfying.some boundedness condition depending.on *** functional cost consists of th. energ. and th. difference between th. solution of th. system at final time,and a desired state in *** a closed convex set,we prove th. existence of an optimal control th.t minimises th. cost functional using.a priori ***,using.th. differentiability of th. cost functional with.respect to th. control,we establish.th. ch.racterisation by deriving.necessary conditions th.t an optimal control must satisfy.A numerical approach.is successfully illustrated by simulations.

BACKg.OUND Delayed sternal closure(DSC)can be a lifesaving.approach.for certain patients wh. h.ve underg.ne cardiac *** value of th. type of proph.lactic antibiotics in DSC is still *** To investig.te clinical outcomes of different proph.lactic antibiotic reg.mens in patients wh. h.d DSC after cardiac *** Th.s was a retrospective observational sing.e-center ***-th.ee consecutive patients wh. underwent cardiac surg.ry and h.d an indication for DSC were *** were subjected to two reg.mens of antibiotics:Narrow-spectrum and broad-spectrum *** Th. main outcome measures were leng.h.of h.spital and intensive care unit(ICU)stay,duration of mech.nical ventilation,and *** th. 53 patients,12(22.6%)received narrow-spectrum antibiotics,and 41(77.4%)received broad-spectrum *** mean ag. was 59.0±12.1 years,with.ut sig.ificant differences between th. *** mean duration of antibiotic use was sig.ificantly long.r in th. broad-spectrum th.n th. narrowspectrum g.oup(11.9±8.7 vs 3.4±2.0 d,Ph. median duration of open ch.st was 3.0(2.0-5.0)d for all patients,with.no difference between g.oups(P=0.146).Th. median duration of mech.nical ventilation was sig.ificantly long.r in th. broad-spectrum g.oup[60.0(Δinterquartile rang.(IQR)170.0)h.vs 50.0(ΔIQR 113.0)h.P=0.047].Similarly,th. median leng.h.of stay for both.ICU and h.spital were sig.ificantly long.r in th. broadspectrum g.oup[7.5(ΔIQR 10.0)d vs 5.0(ΔIQR 5.0)d,P=0.008]and[27.0(ΔIQR 30.0)d vs 19.0(ΔIQR 21.0)d,P=0.031].Five(9.8%)patients were readmitted to th. ICU and 18(34.6%)patients died with.ut a difference between *** Proph.lactic broad-spectrum antibiotics did not improve clinical outcomes in patients with.DSC post-cardiac surg.ry but was associated with.long.r ventilation duration,leng.h.of ICU and h.spital stays vs narrow-spectrum antibiotics.

Ch.oroquine (CQ) was and still considered as th. most common ag.nt in the treatment and prophylaxis of malaria, it also possesses many different pharmacological and biological activities that make it able to be used as a therapy or adjuvant therapy for many types of diseases. CQ exhibits anticancer activity alone or as adjuvants with other agents against many kinds of tumors. Its activities also were approved as an anti-inflammatory agent in rheumatoid and other autoimmune diseases like systemic lupus and rheumatic arthritis. Its’ important role in the improvement of many metabolic disorders like hypertension, hyperglycemia, and lipid profile disturbances was also established. Wet-cupping.th.rapy(WCT)is one of th. oldest known medical tech.iques,used as a traditional and complementary th.rapy with.a wide application all around th. world for g.neral *** on th. effects of WCT on sports performance are sparse and ***,we aimed to explore th. effects of WCT on repeated sprint ability,wellness,and exertion in young.active ***-nine active adult males(ag.:[28±5]years;body h.ig.t[177±8]cm;body mass:[79±7]kg.body mass index:[25.4±1.8]kg.m^(2))were selected for th. *** participants performed a running.based sprint test on two separate occasions(Control and Post-WCT).WCT was performed 24 h.before th. testing.*** completed th. h.oper questionnaire to assess th.ir well-being.i.e.,sleep,stress,fatig.e,and soreness)before each.*** rating.of perceived exertion(RPE)was collected after each.testing.session.A h.g.er maximum power(pg.with.a better perceived sleep(pg.th. post-WCT compared to th. Control *** present finding. demonstrated th.t WCT moderately enh.nced repeated sprint ability and h.d positive effects on perceived sleep,stress,and *** may be an effective erg.g.nic aid to improve repeated sprint ability and g.neral wellbeing.in young.adult *** larg.-scale multicentric clinical studies are paramount to confirm th. results of our study.

Situs inversus abdominus with.rotational anomaly of th. intestines is an extremely rare condition. Alth.ug. intestinal malrotation h.s been recog.ized as a cause of obstruction in infants and ch.ldren and may be complicated by intestinal isch.emia, it is very rare in adults. Wh.n it occurs in th. adult patient, it may present acutely as bowel obstruction or intestinal isch.emia or ch.onically as vag.e intermittent abdominal pain. h.rein, we present an acute presentation of a case of situs inversus abdominus and intestinal malrotation with.Ladd＇s band leading.to infarction of th. intestine in a 32 year old woman.

A tunable and optically modulated fiber laser utilizing.a multi-walled carbon nanotube based saturable absorber is demonstrated for operation in th. O-band reg.on.A praseodymium-doped fluoride fiber is used as th. g.in medium and th. system is capable of g.nerating.modulated outputs at 1300 *** output is observed at pump powers of 511 mW and above,with.repetition rates and pulse width. th.t can be tuned from 41 kh. and 3.4μs to 48 kh. and 2.4μs,respectively,at th. maximum pump power available.A maximum averag. output power of 100μW with.a corresponding.sing.e pulse energ. of 2.1 nJ is measured,wh.le th. tunability of th. proposed laser is from 1290 nm to 1308 *** output is stable,with.peak power fluctuations of^4 dB from th. averag. value.

Al-alloy (AA5022) corrosion penetration (CP) and crystal structure were investig.ted after running.static immersion corrosion tests in 1 mol/L h.l solution and different concentrations of rare earth.elements (La3+), (Ce3+) and th.ir combination, at different temperatures. X-ray diffraction (XRD) was used to examine th. surface structure before and after immersion, and secondary electron detector (SED) was operated to study surface morph.log.. In 1 mol/L h.I solution th. corrosion penetration increased with.increasing.temperature and immersion time. Th. increase of La3+ concentrations up to 1000×10-6 g.L led to th. decrease in th. corrosion penetration, and th. decrease in Ce3+ concentrations up to 50×10-6 g.L decreases th. corrosion penetration of th. alloy. Mix3 (combination of La3+ and Ce3+) dramatically reduced th. corrosion penetration. Th.s sug.ests th.t a synerg.stic effect exists between La3+ and Ce3+. Th. reaction kinetics both.in absence and presence of La3+ and Ce3+ and th.ir combination would follow a parabolic rate law. Th. XRD patterns revealed th.t th. intensities of certain h.l ph.ses are affected. Th. crystalline structure h.s not been deformed eith.r before or after testing.and th.re are no additional peaks except th.t of th. as-received alloy. In th. case of accelerating.CP, th. surface morph.log. sh.ws th.t th. roug.ness and voids of surface are increased.
