Network devices are equipped with low power states but they are rarely activated due to their inability of maintaining network connectivity. Recently, Network Connectivity Proxy （NCP） concept has been proposed in literature as an effective mechanism to exploit full potential of low power features on network devices by impersonating their virtual presence. However, the NCP concept faces several open issues and challenges especially related to proxying of TCP connections and majority of daily used proprietary dosed-source applications. This paper presents a new approach for reducing network energy waste through intelligent collaboration among daily used devices （e.g., desktop computers, laptops, tablets, smartphones, etc）. It guarantees to run applications on only and only one user device that is under active use at that specific moment. To reduce energy waste and allow idle devices to sleep, our approach also takes benefit from a light- weight home gateway proxy with very basic practically realizable functionalities. The proposed system not just reduces energy waste of fixed devices but also enables mobile devices to significantly improve their battery life. Our developed software prototypes allow devices to autonomously and seamlessly collaborate with each other without requiring any configuration or user input. Further, this paper also presents the basic performance evaluation of developed prototypes in real networking environments.

OBJECTIVE： To evaluate the antibacterial activity of the combination of different honey brands and methanolic fraction of Herba Ocimi Basilici using agar well diffusion assay. METHODS： The antibacterial activity was deter- mined against thirteen pathogenic bacterial clini- cal isolates including six gram negative （Klebsiella pneumonia, Pseudomonas aeroginosa, Escherichia coli, Salmonella typhi, Salmonella typhimirium, Xanthomonas campestris） and six gram positive strains （Enterococcus faecalis faecalis, Bacillus subti- lis, Staphylococcus aureus, Clostridium perfringens type C, Clostridium perfringens type D, CIostridium chauvoei）. Agar well diffusion method was used while zones of inhibition were measured with verni- er scale. RESULTS： At higher concentration, all the honey brands showed good to significant activity. Thehighest activity was observed for Hamdard brand honey （27.60±0.40） against Enterococcus faecalis. CONCLUSION： These results revealed that combi- nations of plant extracts of Herba Ocimi Basilici with honey can be used for the development of potent and novel antibacterial agents.

The excellent corrosion resistance,formability and strength make stainless steels versatile for diverse ***,its high specific strength and good crashworthiness make it suitable for transportation and aerospace *** the other hand,the need to reduce the weight of vehicle and aerospace components has created renewed interest in the use of magnesium *** to their differences in physical and metallurgical properties,bonding of the 316L steel and AZ31 magnesium alloy using conventional fusion welding methods encountered many ***,the use of liquid phase forming interlayers is required to overcome the differences in their properties,eliminates the need for a high bonding pressure to achieve intimate contact between the bonded *** Cu and Ni interlayers successively formed a eutectic phase with *** formation of intermetallics and Mg diffusion caused the eutectic phase to isothermally solidify with increasing bonding *** formation of ternary intermetallic phases（λ1 and B2） impaired the bond shear strength particularly at the end of the isothermal solidification stage where no eutectic phase was ***,the joints showed a higher shear strength value of 57 MPa when bonding with Cu interlayer at 530℃ for 30 min compared to 32 MPa when Ni interlayer was used at 510℃ for 20 min.

There is always need for secure transmission of information and simultaneously compact-size photonic circuits. This can be achieved if surface plasmon-polaritons(SPPs) are used as source of information, and the reduced hacking as the transmission phenomenon. In this article, an SPP-based reduced hacking scheme is presented at interface between atomic medium and metallic conductor. The SPP propagation is manipulated with conductivity of the metal. The delay or advance of the SPP is found to create nanosecond time gap which can be used for storing and sending the information safely. The reduced hacking is further modified with conductivity of the metal and the control parameters of the atomic medium.

OBJECTIVE:To investigate the antimicrobial activity of commercially available honey and raw honey samples in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa,Pakistan,against pathogenic bacterial ***:Well diffusion assays were performed to screen pure and diluted honey samples for antibacterial activity against six gram-negative and six gram-positive bacterial *** of inhibition were measured and compared with 10 mg ***:When honey samples were diluted to20%-70%,the honey samples showed no activity to mild antibacterial *** highest antibacterial activity was recorded when 90%and pure undiluted honey samples were tested and compared with a control gentamycin disc(10 mg).CONCLUSION:Commercially processed honey and raw honey samples from north-west of Pakistan possess good antimicrobial potential.

Testing Procedure for Laboratory Scale Semi Cryogenic Combustion Chamber of LPRE with Problems Faced and Lessons Learned

Design, development, and testing of LPRE(Liquid Propellant Rocket Engine) are difficult and expensive tasks. Prior to full-scale design, it is indispensable to optimize important parameters at sub-scale. Propellants flow rates are low for a sub-scale or laboratory scale combustion chambers. It is hard to satisfy chamber cooling and chill feed lines quickly with low flow rates of propellants. This paper proposes a detailed procedure for testing of a laboratory scale semi-cryogenic combustion chamber. Many tests were conducted with a small scale adjustable length combustion chamber. The injection head of the chamber was interchangeable. Liquid-liquid pressure swirl injector and like impinging injectors were used with two different injection heads. Liquid oxygen and kerosene were used as oxidizer and fuel, respectively. Oxidizer to fuel mixing ratio was 0.29-0.45 and the total propellant mass flow rate was 0.06-0.1 kg/s. Problems were faced during testing, including, explosion in the combustion chamber, fuel injector blockage, unstable combustion, incomplete chilling and blockage of cooling water channel, etc. A detailed procedure is designed on the basis of the lessons learned which was experimentally proved.
