Three groups of female rats （n=6 per group） were exposed to 1 and 10 mg/L of sodium arsenate for 90 days. The antioxidant and peroxidation parameters in kidney and liver tissues were evaluated, also the fatty acid composition were determined. In liver the synthesis pathway of n-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids （PUFA） seemed to be more affected than the n-6 PUFA, while in kidney the n-6 pathway was more affected.

Heat transport phenomenon of two-dimensional magnetohydrodynamie Casson fluid flow by employing Cattaneo-Christov heat diffusion theory is described in this work. The term of heat absorption/generation is incorporated in the mathematical modeling of present flow problem. The governing mathematical expressions are solved for velocity and temperature profiles using RKF 45 method along with shooting technique. The importance of arising nonlinear quantities namely velocity, temperature, skin-friction and temperature gradient are elaborated via plots. It is explored that the Casson parameter retarded the liquid velocity while it enhances the fluid temperature. Fhrther, we noted that temperature and thickness of temperature boundary layer are weaker in case of Cattaneo-Christov heat diffusion model when matched with the profiles obtained for Fourier＇s theory of heat flux.

Colorectal cancer represents the third most diagnosed malignancy in the *** liver is the main site of metastatic disease,affected in 30%of patients with newly diagnosed *** resection is considered the only potentially curative treatment for colorectal liver metastasis(CRLM),with a 5-year survival rate ranging from 35%to 58%.However,up to 80%of patients have initially unresectable disease,due to extrahepatic disease or bilobar multiple liver *** availability of increasingly effective systemic chemotherapy has contributed to converting patients with initially unresectable liver metastases to resectable disease,improving long-term outcomes,and accessing tumor *** recent years,response to preoperative systemic chemotherapy before liver resection has been established as a major prognostic *** studies have demonstrated that patients with regression of hepatic metastases while on chemotherapy have improved outcomes when compared to patients with stabilization or progression of the *** if disease progression during chemotherapy represents an independent negative prognostic factor,some patients may still benefit from surgery,given the role of this modality as the main treatment with curative intent for patients with *** selected cases,based on size,the number of lesions,and tumor markers,surgery may be offered despite the less favorable prognosis and as an option for non-chemo responders.

Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis(ALS)is associated with proteostasis collapse:ALS is an unrelenting neurodegenerative disease that is characterized by the loss of motor neurons in the brain and spinal cord,resulting in the progressive atrophy,and eventual paralysis,of skeletal *** due to respiratory failure usually occurs within 2-5 years from symptom *** 90%of ALS cases are of unknown etiology and are termed sporadic ALS(sALS).The remaining 10%of ALS cases present with a family history(familial ALS;fALS)and are associated with genetic mutations in a range of over 20 functionally heterogeneous *** of disease origin,the pathological hallmark of ALS is the accumulation of ubiquitylated protein inclusions in motor neurons and surrounding glial *** presence of these inclusions,compromised largely of misfolded and aggregated proteins,implies a collapse in *** refers to the maintenance of the proteome in a state of balance or equilibrium so that a cell can perform its proper function.

Objective:To ascertain the level of intestinal parasites vis-a-vis the quality of housing and water supply,and sanitary conditions among the people of Kuraje village in Zamfara state. Methods:The study was cross sectional in *** households were selected using systematic random sampling methods and pre-tested questionnaires were administered to all the members of each *** samples were collected and processed using standard laboratory *** conditions,sources of water and sanitary conditions of the households were also *** were analysed using Epi Info 2006 ***: The prevalence of intestinal parasites was 67.0%(347/519).72.3%(251/347),17.0%(59/347),and 10.7%(37/347) had one,two and three or more parasites,*** associated factors with intestinal parasites were poor housing and sanitary conditions,lack of potable water and *** commonest parasites encountered were hookworm(22.0%),Ascaris lumbricoides (18.5%),and Strongyloides stercoralis(15.6%) while the least common was Enterobius vermicularis (1.6%).Others were giardia lamblia(5.7%),Hymenolepsis nana(5.0%),Trichuris trichiura(8.8%), Entamoeba histolytica(14.4%) and Schistosoma mansoni(8.4%).Conclusions:The infection rate of intestinal parasites in Kuraje village is *** efforts should be intensified towards improvement in sanitary and housing standards,supply of potable water and institution of a more comprehensive literacy programme for the people of the community.

Uncertainties in satellite rainfall estimation may derive from both the local rainfall characteristics and its subpixel *** study this issue,Micro Rain Radars and a rain gauge network were deployed within a 9-km satel-lite pixel in the semi-arid Xilingol grassland of China in summer *** authors characterized the subpixel variability with the coefficient of variation(CV)and evaluated the satellite rainfall estimation for this semi-arid *** results showed that rainfall events with a high CV were mostly convective with a small amount of *** inhomogeneous rainfall was most likely to occur at the edges of small clouds producing *** performance of the TRMM(Tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission)3B42V7 product for daily rainfall was better than that of the CMORPH(Climate Prediction Center morphing technique)and PERSIANN(Precipitation Estima-tion from Remotely Sensed Information Using Artificial Neural Networks)products,although the TRMM product tended to overestimate rainfall in a lake area of the semi-arid grassland.

The influence of cryorolling(CR),room temperature rolling(RTR)and post annealing on precipitation,microstructuralevolution(recovery,recrystallisation and grain growth),mechanical and corrosion behavior,was investigated in the present *** precipitation kinetics and microstructural morphology of CR,RTR,and post annealed samples were investigated by differentialscanning calorimetry(DSC),transmission electron microscopy(TEM),and electron back scattered diffraction(EBSD)to elucidatethe observed mechanical *** annealing at200°C,UTS and hardness of CR samples(345MPa and HV127)wereimproved as compared to RTR samples(320MPa and HV115).The increase in hardness and UTS of CR samples after annealing at200°C was due to precipitation ofβ''from Al matrix,which imparted higher Zener drag effect as compared to RTR *** in corrosion and pitting potentials was observed for CR samples(?1.321V and?700mV)as compared to RTRsamples(?1.335V and?710mV).In CR samples,heavy dislocation density and dissolution of Mg4Al3Si4-precipitates in the Almatrix have improved corrosion resistance of the alloy through formation of protective passive layer and suppression of galvanic cell,respectively.

Three research papers were published recently to compare the virological properties of the Omicron variant with the earlier variants of concern(VOC).1,2,3 The SARS-CoV-2 B.1.1.529 variant,Omicron,was first detected in South Africa in October 2021 and has spread rapidly;within three months,it appeared in more than 87 countries.4 During the surveillance of the epidemiological data and mutations of earlier COVID-19 variants and Omicron,significant differences were revealed mainly in the reproduction rate and hospitalization.
