Synthesis and Extraction Studies of Calix[4]-Crown-4 Oxime Derivatives

The article comprises synthesis of calyx[4]-oxa-crown, and calix[4]-thia-crown compounds containing nitrile groups (3a, 3b) and amino groups (4a, 4b) and their corresponding oxime derivatives (5a, 5b) and liquid-liquid extraction studies of these compounds. The oxime derivatives of compounds (5a, 5b) have been synthesized by reacting of di-n-butylamino derivatives of calix[4]-oxa-crown, and calix[4]-thia-crown compounds (4a, 4b) with amphi-chloroglyoxime in methanol-THF. Their cation and anion transfer studies were performed by using liquid-liquid extraction procedure. It has been concluded from the observations that the compound 3a shows a good extraction behavior toward Na+ ion in the presence of other metal cations. Whereas, its oxime derivatives transfers all of the metal cations used in the liquid-liquid extraction studies.

The Application of Ultraviolet Spectrophotometry(UV)on Some Water Mite Species(Acari,Hydrachnidia)

In this study an ultra violet analysis, which is a spectrophotometric method, was applied for the first time as a structural analysis of the group. The following species were collected from Karamik Lake in Afyon Province, Turkey between April and August, 2015, Hydryphantes flexiosus, Hydrodroma despiciens, georgella helvatica, Eylais infundibulifera, Hygrobates nigromacutlatus and Torrenticola brevirostris. These species were separately analyzed by Ultraviolet Spectrophotometer (US) and the results assessed using graphical readings. The affiliations between the species were read from the graphical curves of each species and then compared in terms of the curves.

Study on the Impact of Elements in Water on the Diversity of Water Mites(Acari,Hydrachnidia)Species

In this study the distribution and relationships of element levels in water and water mite species (Acari, Hydrachnidia) selected as model organisms have been examined in two different lakes. Water samples from Eber and Karamik Lakes were analyzed with ICP (ICP-OES Instrument Spectro genesis Fee, germany) equipment to determine the element levels in the water. That impact level of these elements on the distribution of species was discussed. Change in the lake water composition was not a significantly determining factor in the number of species and diversities of water mites. However, eutrophication was observed to be a determining factor on the distribution of species.

BACKgROUND Polymorphisms of human leukocyte antigen(HLA)genes are suggested to increase the risk of gastric cancer(gC).AIM To investigate the HLA allele frequencies of patients with gC relative to a control group in terms of CagA+multiple(≥2)EPIYA-C *** The patient group comprised 94 patients[44 gC and 50 duodenal ulcer(DU)patients],and the control group comprised 86 individuals[(50 non-ulcer dyspepsia patients and 36 people with asymptomatic Helicobacter pylori(***)].Polymerase chain reaction was performed for the amplification of the *** cagA gene and typing of EPIYA *** sequence-specific oligonucleotide(SSO)typing was performed using Lifecodes SSO typing kits(HLA-A,HLA-B HLA-C,HLA-DRB1,and HLA-DQA1-B1 kits).RESULTS The comparison of gC cases in terms of CagA+multiple(≥2)EPIYA-C repeats showed that only the HLA-DQB1*06 allele[odds ratio(OR):0.37,P=0.036]was significantly lower,but significance was lost after correction(Pc=0.1845).The HLA-DQA1*01 allele had a high ratio in gC cases with multiple EPIYA-C repeats,but this was not significant in the univariate *** compared allele frequencies in the DU cases alone and in gC and DU cases together using the same criterion,and none of the HLA alleles were significantly associated with gC or ***,none of the alleles were detected as independent risk factors after the multivariate *** the other hand,in a multivariate logistic regression with no discriminative criterion,HLA-DQA1*01(OR=1.848),HLA-DQB1*06(OR=1.821)and HLA-A*02(OR=1.579)alleles were detected as independent risk factors for gC and *** None of the HLA alleles were detected as independent risk factors in terms of CagA+multiple EPIYA-C ***,HLA-DQA1*01,HLA-DQB1*0601,and HLA-A*2 were independent risk factors with no criterion in the multivariate *** suggest that the association of these alleles with gastric malignancies is not specifically related to cagA and multiple EPIYA C repeats.
