The early trans-Eurasian exchange and its influence on the dynamics of human-land relationships is an emerging topic involving multiple *** southwestern part of the Eastern European Plain was a key hub for early East-West *** millet,a crop domesticated in China,was introduced into the region about 3,600 years ago,significantly earlier than in other parts of *** research employs systematic archaeobotanical flotation and AMS radiocarbon dating at two sites in Romania:Baia-?n Muchie and Dobrov??.The findings demonstrate that broomcorn millet cultivation in this region has persisted for over 2,000 years,exhibiting significant diachronic *** was most intensively utilized during the Late Bronze Age to the Early Iron Age(1200–800 BC)and the Late Roman Empire(AD 250–400),periods which were characterized by rapid climatic *** may have been cultivated as a“disaster relief”crop to mitigate the challenges posed by extreme drought and *** millet grains from the study area are similar in dimensions to those reported in East Asia;however,grains from the Romanian sites are thinner and *** route traversing the Caucasus and the northern Black Sea likely served as a key passage through which millet entered Europe from West *** research provides valuable data on the chronology of millet cultivation in the SW Eastern European Plain and enhances our understanding of early East-West exchanges and their impact on human-environment interactions in critical regions.

Objective:This study aimed to investigate the effect of empowerment-based interventions on selfefficacy and self-care capacity among adults with sickle cell disease(SCD).Methods:A randomized control trial was conducted[NCT06296654].A total of 76 patients were recruited by using a cluster sampling technique in the two health centers in Bahrain from February to May 2022 and randomly allocated to the intervention group(n=38)or control group(n=38).The intervention group received the empowerment-based intervention implemented through structured small-group discussion sessions,individualized consultations(5A model:assess,advise,agree,assist,and arrange),and follow-up sessions,while the control group received routine health *** Sickle Cell Self-Efficacy Scale(SCSES)and the Appraisal of the Self-Care Agency Scale-Revised(ASA-R)were measured at baseline and one month after the intervention among two groups of ***:A total of 68 patients completed the study(36 patients in the intervention group and 32 patients in the control group).After the intervention,the score of SCSES in the intervention group was 37.0(35.0,39.8)higher than the control group 28.0(25.2,32.0)(U=-6.121,Pgroup was 61.0(58.3,65.0)higher than the control group 49.0(43.3,53.0)(U=-0.653,Pg the empowerment-based intervention using the 5As model effectively improves self-efficacy and self-care capacity among patients with SCD.

欧亚大陆早期东西交流及其对人地关系演变的影响是多学科关注的前沿科学问题.东欧平原西南部是早期东西交流的关键枢纽,驯化于中国的作物黍约3600年前传入该地区,显著早于欧洲其他地区.受限于系统植物考古研究的不足,该地区黍作物利用的演替过程及其影响因素尚不清楚.文章选取罗马尼亚雅西(Iasi)巴亚-因穆基(Baia-In Muchie)遗址和多布若瓦茨(Dobrovaț)开展系统植物浮选与年代测定工作.结果显示,研究区所出土的200余粒黍遗存与东亚地区已发表数据在尺寸上未见显著差异,但粒型更为瘦长;东欧平原西南部黍遗存出现年代相较欧洲其他地区明显偏早,跨高加索的黑海北部路线可能是黍经西亚进入欧洲的重要通道;自青铜时代晚期以来,该地区黍作物的利用延续了两千余年乃至更久,且存在明显的历时性波动,相对集中于青铜时代末至铁器时代初(1200~800BC)和罗马帝国晚期(AD250~400);气候变化是背后重要驱动因素之一,黍有可能是作为应对干冷气候的优势作物而被种植利用.本研究为探究黍传入东欧平原西南部的年代以及在该地区的利用变化提供了重要的基础数据,有助于全面认识早期东西交流及其对关键节点地区人地关系演变的影响.

We show that when A is a separable C^(*)-algebra,every countably generated Hilbert A-module is projective(with bounded module maps as morphisms).We also study the approximate extensions of bounded module *** the case where A is aσ-unital simple C^(*)-algebra with strict comparison,and every strictly positive lower semicontinuous affine function on quasitraces can be realized as the rank of an element in the Cuntz semigroup,we show that the Cuntz semigroup is equivalent to unitarily equivalent classes of countably generated Hilbert A-modules if and only if A has stable rank one.

Analytical and numerical studies have shown that multipolar vortices can emerge in two-dimensional flow due to azimuthal normal mode perturbations of shielded *** has been found that mode 2 and 3 perturbations can lead to the formation of stable tripoles and quadrapoles,respectively,while higher order modes result in more complex unstable compound *** have used the lattice Boltzmann method to simulate the effect of azimuthal perturbations on shielded vortices at moderate Reynolds *** have found that azimuthal normal mode perturbations result in the formation of multipoles,which decay due to viscous *** could also observe that the outcome of such simulations is very sensitive to the displacement of perturbations above wavenumber-3 excitations,in spite of the significant viscosity we used.

Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is a chronic liver disease that might affect up to one-third of the adult population in industrialised countries. NAFLD incorporates histologically and clinically different non-alcoholic entities; fatty liver (NAFL, steatosis hepatis) and steatohepatitis (NASH-characterised by hepatocyte ballooning and lobular inflammation ± fibrosis) might progress to cirrhosis and rarely to hepatocellular cancer. NAFL increasingly affects children (paediatric prevalence is 4.2%-9.6%). Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM), insulin resistance (IR), obesity, metabolic syndrome and NAFLD are particularly closely related. Increased hepatic lipid storage is an early abnormality in insulin resistant women with a history of gestational diabetes mellitus. The accumulation of triacylglycerols in hepatocytes is predominantly derived from the plasma nonesterified fatty acid pool supplied largely by the adipose tissue. A few NAFLD susceptibility gene variants are associated with progressive liver disease, IR, T2DM and a higher risk for hepatocellular carcinoma. Although not approved, pharmacological approaches might be considered in NASH patients.

To obtain new integrable nonlinear differential equations there are some well-known methods such as Lax equations with different Lax representations. There are also some other methods that are based on integrable scalar nonlinear partial differential equations. We show that some systems of integrable equations published recently are the M2-extension of integrable such scalar equations. For illustration, we give Korteweg–de Vries, Kaup-Kupershmidt, and SawadaKotera equations as examples. By the use of such an extension of integrable scalar equations, we obtain some new integrable systems with recursion operators. We also give the soliton solutions of the systems and integrable standard nonlocal and shifted nonlocal reductions of these systems.
