Eutectic-derived synthesis of hierarchically nanoporous copper for electrochemical actuation and solar steam generation

The utilization of nanoporous copper(np-Cu)as a metallic actuator has gained attention in recent years due to its cost-effectiveness in comparison to other precious *** this,the enhancement of np-Cu’s actuation performance remains a challenge due to limitations in its strain amplitude and actuation ***,np-Cu has been deemed as a promising material for solar absorption due to its localized surface plasmon resonance ***,practical applications such as solar steam generators(SSGs)utilizing np-Cu have yet to be *** this study,we present the development of hierarchically nanoporous copper(HNC)through the dealloying of a eutectic Al-Cu *** hierarchical structure of the HNC features a combination of ordered flat channels and randomly distributed continuous nanopores,which work in synergy to improve actuation *** ordered flat channels,with a sub-micron scale,facilitate rapid mass transport of electrolyte ions,while the nano-sized continuous pores,due to their large specific surface area,enhance the induced *** results indicate that the HNC exhibits improved actuation performance,with a two times increase in both strain amplitude and rate in comparison to other reported ***,the HNC,for the first time,showcases excellent solar steam generation capabilities,with an evaporation rate of 1.47 kg·m^(-2.·h^(-1) and a photothermal conversion efficiency of 92.under a light intensity of 1 kW·m^(-2.,which rivals that of nanoporous gold and silver *** enhanced actuation performance and newly discovered solar steam generation properties of the HNC are attributed to its hierarchically porous structure.

Rapid profiling rock mass quality underneath tunnel face for Sichuan-Xizang Railway

The Sichuan-Xizang Railway is a global challenge,surpassing other known railway projects in terms of geological and topographical *** paper presents an approach for rapidly profiling rock mass quality underneath tunnel face for the ongoing construction of the Sichuan-Xizang *** adopts the time-series method and carries out the quantitative analysis of the rock mass quality using the depth-series measurement-while-drilling(MWD)data associated with drilling of blastholes.A tunnel face with 15 blastholes is examined for *** results include identification of the boundary of homogeneous geomaterial by plotting the blasthole depth against the net drilling time,as well as quantification of rock mass quality through the recalculation of the new specific *** new specific energy profile is compared and highly consistent with laboratory test,manual logging and tunnel seismic prediction *** consistency can enhance the blasthole pattern design and facilitate the dynamic determination of charge placement and *** paper highlights the importance of digital monitoring during blasthole drilling for rapidly profiling rock mass quality underneath and ahead of tunnel *** upgrades the MWD technique for rapid profiling rock mass quality in drilling and blasting tunnels.

Exploring the influences of education,intelligence and income on mental disorders

Background Previous studies have shown that educational attainment(EA),intelligence and income are key factors associated with mental ***,the direct effects of each factor on major mental disorders are *** We aimed to evaluate the overall and independent causal effects of the three psychosocial factors on common mental *** Using genome-wide association study summary datasets,we performed Mendelian randomisation(MR)and multivariable MR(MVMR)analyses to assess potential associations between the 3 factors(EA,N=766345;household income,N=392.2.;intelligence,N=146808)and 13 common mental disorders,with sample sizes ranging from 9907 to ***-variance weighting was employed as the main method in the MR *** Our MR analysis showed that(1)higher EA was a protective factor for eight mental disorders but contributed to anorexia nervosa,obsessive-compulsive disorder(OCD),bipolar disorder(BD)and autism spectrum disorder(ASD);(2.higher intelligence was a protective factor for five mental disorders but a risk factor for OCD and ASD;(3)higher household income protected against 10 mental disorders but confers risk for anorexia *** MVMR analysis showed that(1)higher EA was a direct protective factor for attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder(ADHD)and insomnia but a direct risk factor for schizophrenia,BD and ASD;(2.higher intelligence was a direct protective factor for schizophrenia but a direct risk factor for major depressive disorder(MDD)and ASD;(3)higher income was a direct protective factor for seven mental disorders,including schizophrenia,BD,MDD,ASD,post-traumatic stress disorder,ADHD and anxiety *** Our study reveals that education,intelligence and income intertwine with each *** each factor,its independent effects on mental disorders present a more complex picture than its overall effects.

A complementary binary code based phase unwrapping method

A Q-Learning Based Hybrid Meta-Heuristic for Integrated Scheduling of Disassembly and Reprocessing Processes Considering Product Structures and Stochasticity

Remanufacturing is regarded as a sustainable manufacturing paradigm of energy conservation and environment *** improve the efficiency of the remanufacturing process,this work investigates an integrated scheduling problem for disassembly and reprocessing in a remanufacturing process,where product structures and uncertainty are taken into ***,a stochastic programming model is developed to minimize the maximum completion time(makespan).Second,a Q-learning based hybrid meta-heuristic(Q-HMH)is specially *** each iteration,a Q-learning method is employed to adaptively choose a premium algorithm from four candidate ones,including genetic algorithm(GA),artificial bee colony(ABC),shuffled frog-leaping algorithm(SFLA),and simulated annealing(SA)*** last,simulation experiments are carried out by using sixteen instances with different scales,and three state-of-the-art algorithms in literature and an exact solver CPLEX are chosen for *** analyzing the results with the average relative percentage deviation(RPD)metric,we find that Q-HMH outperforms its rivals by 9.79%-2..76%.The results and comparisons verify the excellent competitiveness of Q-HMH for solving the concerned problems.

Lithium-ion battery(LIB)is the key technology for climate change *** sustainability of LIB supply chain has caused widespread concern since the material utilization efficiency of LIB supply chain has not been well *** study aims to fill this research gap by conducting a dynamic material flow analysis of lithium in China from 2.15 to *** indicate that within the temporal boundary,lithium flow and in-use stock grew significantly in China due to the rapid development of the EV market,with lithium flow in domestic production of basic chemicals increasing by 614%to 100 kt,end-use consumption increasing by 160%to 35 kt,and in-use stock increasing by 62.to 195 *** has been a net importer of lithium,of which cumulative imports and exports were 343 kt and 169 kt,*** addition,103 kt of lithium was converted to inventories or was lost during the processing from 2.15 to *** optimizing inventory and processing,developing substitutes for lithium for non-battery applications,and improving lithium recycling,China's net import dependency of lithium could be reduced from 2.%-86%to 0%-16%.Our study demonstrates that it is urgent to improve material utilization efficiency so that the lithium resource supply can be secured.

Surface reconstruction and structural transformation of twodimensional Ni-Fe MOFs for oxygen evolution in seawater media

As a four-electron transfer reaction,oxygen evolution reaction(OER)is limited by large overpotential and slow ***,we in-situ synthesized two-dimensional(2.)Ni-Fe metal-organic framework nanosheets on nickel foam(NixFe-TPA/NF,TPA=terephthalic acid)for oxygen evolution in alkaline and alkaline seawater *** 1 M KOH,Ni3Fe-TPA/NF shows a low overpotential(η10)of 189 mV at 10 mA·cm^(-2. and an ultra-low overpotential of only 2.0 mV at 500 mA·cm^(-2..In alkaline seawater,Ni3Fe-TPA/NF still provides impressive OER performance,with anη10 of 2.5 ***-situ Raman characterization results show that the phase transition occurs during the OER,and Ni3FeOOH with more oxygen vacancies is in-situ formed,reducing the OER energy *** functional theory(DFT)reveals that the synergy between Ni and Fe reduces the energy barrier and accelerates the rate-determining *** addition,the ultra-thin 2. sheet structure and the close combination of Ni3FeOOH and highly conductive NF support ensure the high catalytic OER ***,the surface reconstruction and structural modification strategy can be used to design and prepare high-performance OER electrocatalysts for energy-related applications.

Neuroscientists have recognized the importance of astrocytes in regulating neurological function and their influence on the release of glial *** studies,however,have focused on the effects of general anesthetic agents on neuroglia or *** can also be an important target of general anesthetic agents as they exert not only sedative,analgesic,and amnesic effects but also mediate general anesthetic-induced neurotoxicity and postoperative cognitive ***,we analyzed recent advances in understanding the mechanism of general anesthetic agents on astrocytes,and found that exposure to general anesthetic agents will destroy the morphology and proliferation of astrocytes,in addition to acting on the receptors on their surface,which not only affect Ca^(2.)signaling,inhibit the release of brain-derived neurotrophic factor and lactate from astrocytes,but are even involved in the regulation of the pro-and anti-inflammatory processes of *** would obviously affect the communication between astrocytes as well as between astrocytes and neighboring neurons,other neuroglia,and vascular *** this review,we summarize how general anesthetic agents act on neurons via astrocytes,and explore potential mechanisms of action of general anesthetic agents on the nervous *** hope that this review will provide a new direction for mitigating the neurotoxicity of general anesthetic agents.

Intensified river salinization alters nitrogen-cycling microbial communities in arid and semi-arid regions of China

Freshwater salinization is receiving increasing global attention due to its profound influence on nitrogen cycling in aquatic ecosystems and the accessibility of water ***,a comprehensive understanding of the changes in river salinization and the impacts of salinity on nitrogen cycling in arid and semi-arid regions of China is currently lacking.A meta-analysis was first conducted based on previous investigations and found an intensification in river salinization that altered hydrochemical *** further analyze the impact of salinity on nitrogen metabolism processes,we evaluated rivers with long-term salinity gradients based on in situ *** genes and enzymes that were inhibited generally by salinity,especially those involved in nitrogen fixation and nitrification,showed low abundances in three salinity *** abundance of genes and enzymes with denitrification and dissimilatory nitrate reduction to ammonium functions still maintained a high proportion,especially for denitrification genes/enzymes that were enriched under medium *** bacteria exhibited various relationships with salinity,while dissimilatory nitrate reduction to ammonium bacterium(such as Hydrogenophaga and Curvibacter carrying nirB)were more inhibited by salinity,indicating that diverse denitrifying bacteria could be used to regulate nitrogen *** genera exhibited symbiotic and mutual relationships,and the highest proportion of significant positive correlations of abundant genera was found under medium *** study emphasizes the role of river salinity on environment characteristics and nitrogen transformation rules,and our results are useful for improving the availability of river water resources in arid and semi-arid regions.
