Low-temperature NH_(3) abatement via selective oxidation over a supported copper catalyst with high Cu^(+) abundance

Selective catalytic NH_(3)-to-N_(2) oxidation(NH_(3)-SCO)is highly promising for abating NH_(3) emissions slipped from stationary flue gas after-treatment *** practical application,however,is limited by the non-availability of low-cost catalysts with high activity and N_(2) ***,using defect-rich nitrogen-doped carbon nanotubes(NCNT-AW)as the support,we developed a highly active and durable copper-based NH_(3)-SCO catalyst with a high abundance of cuprous(Cu^(+))*** obtained Cu/NCNT-AW catalyst demonstrated outstanding activity with a T_(50)(*** temperature to reach 50% NH_(3) conversion)of 174℃ in the NH_(3)-SCO reaction,which outperformed not only the Cu catalyst supported on N-free O-functionalized CNTs(OCNTs)or NCNT with less surface defects,but also those most active Cu catalysts in open *** kinetics measurements and temperature-programmed surface reactions using NH_(3)as a probe molecule revealed that the NH_(3)-SCO reaction on Cu/NCNT-AW follows an internal selective catalytic reaction(i-SCR)route involving nitric oxide(NO)as a key *** to mechanistic investigations by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy,Raman spectroscopy,and X-ray absorption spectroscopy,the superior NH_(3)-SCO performance of Cu/NCNT-AW originated from a synergy of surface defects and ***,surface defects promoted the anchoring of Cu O nanoparticles on N-containing sites and,thereby,enabled efficient electron transfer from N to Cu O,increasing significantly the fraction of SCR-active Cu^(+)sites in the *** study puts forward a new idea for manipulating and utilizing the interplay of defects and N-dopants on carbon surfaces to fabricate Cu^(+)-rich Cu catalysts for efficient abatement of slip NH_(3)emissions via selective oxidation.

Lateral intakes are common in *** pump effciency and sediment deposition are determined by the local hydrodynamic characteristics and mainstream division *** hydraulic characteristics of lateral withdrawal from inclined river slopes at different intake elevations should be ***,the division width exhibits significant vertical non-uniformity at an inclined river slope,which should be ***,a three-dimensional(3-D)hydrodynamic and particle-tracking model was developed with the Open Source Field Operation and Manipulation(Open FOAM),and the model was validated with physical model tests for 90°lateral withdrawal from an inclined side *** flow fields,withdrawal sources,and division widths were investigated with different intake bottom elevations,withdrawal discharges,and main channel *** study showed that under inclined side bank conditions,water entered the intake at an oblique angle,causing significant 3-D spiral flows in the intake rather than two-dimensional closed recirculation.A lower withdrawal discharge,a lower bottom elevation of the intake,or a higher main channel velocity could further strengthen this *** average division width and turbulent kinetic energy were smaller under inclined side bank conditions than under vertical bank *** a low intake bottom elevation,a low withdrawal discharge,or a high main channel velocity,the sources of lateral withdrawal were in similar ranges near the local inclined bank in the vertical *** inclined slope conditions,sediment deposition near the intake entrance could be reduced,compared to that under vertical slope *** results provide hydrodynamic and sediment references for engineering designs for natural rivers with inclined terrains.

In order to ascertain the effects of atmospheric pressure on developmental characteristics and the stability of AEA(air-entraining agent)solution bubbles,AEA solution experiments and AEA solution bubble experiments were,respectively,conducted in Peking(50 m,101.2 kPa)and Lhasa(3,650 m,63.1 kPa).Surface tensions and inflection-point concentrations were tested based on AEA solutions,whilst developmental characteristics,thicknesses and elastic coefficients of liquid films were tested based on air bubbles of AEA *** study involved three types of AEAs,which were TM-O,226A,and *** experimental results show that initial sizes of TM-O,226A,and 226S are,respectively,increased by 43.5%,17.5%,and 3.8%.With the decrease of ambient pressure,the drainage rate and the drainage index of AEA solution bubbles *** experiments show that the liquid film thicknesses of all tested AEA solution bubbles are in micron *** the atmospheric pressure decreases from 101.2 to 63.1 kPa,the liquid film thicknesses of three types of AEA solutions decrease in various degrees;and film elasticities at critical thicknesses *** film of 226S solution bubbles is the most stable,presenting as a minimum thickness *** should be noted that elastic coefficient of liquid film only represents the level at critical thickness,thus it can not be applied as the only evaluating indicator of bubble *** a type of AEA,factors affecting the stability of its bubbles under low atmospheric pressure include initial bubbles size,liquid film thickness,liquid film elasticity,ambient temperature,etc.

With continuous hydrocarbon exploration extending to deeper basins,the deepest industrial oil accumulation was discovered below 8,200 m,revealing a new exploration ***,the extent to which oil exploration can be extended,and the prediction of the depth limit of oil accumulation(DLOA),are issues that have attracted significant attention in petroleum *** it is difficult to characterize the evolution of the physical properties of the marine carbonate reservoir with burial depth,and the deepest drilling still cannot reach the ***,the DLOA cannot be predicted by directly establishing the relationship between the ratio of drilling to the dry layer and the *** this study,by establishing the relationships between the porosity and the depth and dry layer ratio of the carbonate reservoir,the relationships between the depth and dry layer ratio were obtained *** depth corresponding to a dry layer ratio of 100%is the *** on this,a quantitative prediction model for the DLOA was finally *** results indicate that the porosity of the carbonate reservoir,Lower Ordovician in Tazhong area of Tarim Basin,tends to decrease with burial depth,and manifests as an overall low porosity reservoir in deep *** critical porosity of the DLOA was 1.8%,which is the critical geological condition corresponding to a 100%dry layer ratio encountered in the *** depth of the DLOA was 9,000 *** study provides a new method for DLOA prediction that is beneficial for a deeper understanding of oil accumulation,and is of great importance for scientific guidance on deep oil drilling.

The analysis of chloroplast gene characteristics in Alpinia japonica (Thunb.) Miq. is of great significance fi cance for developing relevant genetic resources. The high-throughput sequencing and bioinformatic research were performed to analyze the chloroplast genome characteristics of A. japonica. . The total chloroplast genome length of A. japonica was 161,906 bp, with a typical circular tetrameric structure. And 133 genes were annotated, comprising 87 protein-coding, 38 tRNA, and 8 rRNA genes. furthermore, 22 genes contained two copies, and 18 genes owned introns. Repeat sequence analysis showed that it contains 321 simple sequence repeats (SSRs) and 37 long segment repeats. Compared with the chloroplast genomes of eight representative plants in the genus Alpinia, , the gene structure, type, and quantity were relatively conservative. Rps12 was the highest variation site in the entire chloroplast gene. A phylogenetic tree showed that the genus Alpinia was the most closely related to the genus Amomum. . Meanwhile, A. japonica is the most closely related to Alpinia chinensis belonging to the genus Alpinia. . Overall, the chloroplast genome of a new species was reported in the genus Alpinia, , and a basis was provided for the utilization of Alpinia plants as a medical resource.

Reactant gas and liquid water transport phenomena in the flow channels are complex and critical to the performance and durability of polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cells. The polymer membrane needs water at an optimum level for proton conductivity. Water management involves the prevention of dehydration, waterlogging, and the cell's subsequent performance decline and degradation. This process requires the study and understanding of internal two-phase flows. Different experimental visualization techniques are used to study two-phase flows in polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cells. However, the experiments have limitations in in situ measurements; they are also expensive and time exhaustive. In contrast, numerical modeling is cheaper and faster, providing insights into the complex multiscale processes occurring across the components of the polymer electrolyte membrane fuel *** paper introduces the recent design of flow channels. It reviews the numerical modeling techniques adopted for the transport phenomena therein: the two-fluid, multiphase mixture, volume of fluid, lattice Boltzmann, and pressure drop models. furthermore, this work describes, compares, and analyses the models' approaches and reviews the representative results of some selected aspects. Finally, the paper summarizes the modeling perspectives, emphasizing future directions with some recommendations.

It is highly desirable to design efficient and stable hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)and oxygen evolution/reduction reaction(OER/ORR)electrocatalysts for the development of renewable energy ***,density functional theory(DFT)calculations were conducted to systematically investigate a series of TMN_(x)O_(4-x)-HTT(TM=Fe,Co,Ni,Ru,Rh,Pd,Ir and Pt;HTT=hexahydroxy tetraazanaphthotetraphene)analogs of two-dimensional(2D)conductive metal-organic frameworks(MOFs)as potential electrocatalysts for the HER,OER and *** thermodynamic and electrochemical stability simulations suggest that these designed catalysts are ***,CoO_(4)-HTT,RhN_(3)O_(1)-HTT and IrN3O1-HTT are predicted to be the most promising catalysts for the HER,OER and ORR,respectively,surpassing the catalytic activity of corresponding benchmark *** volcano plots were established based on the scaling relationship of adsorption Gibbs free energy of *** results reveal that regulating combinations of metal active centers and local coordination environments could effectively balance the interaction strength between intermediates and catalysts,thus achieving optimal catalytic *** findings not only opt for the promising HER/OER/ORR electrocatalysts but also guide the design of efficient electrocatalysts based on 2D MOFs materials.

Accelerating H^(*)desorption of hollow Mo_(2)C nanoreactor via in-situ grown carbon dots for electrocatalytic hydrogen evolution

Molybdenum carbide(Mo_(2)C)is a promising non-noble metal electrocatalyst with electronic structures similar to Pt for hydrogen evolution reaction(HER).However,strong H^(*)adsorption at the Mo sites hinders the improvement of HER ***,we synthesized monodisperse hollow Mo_(2)C nanoreactors,in which the carbon dots(CD)were in situ formed onto the surface of Mo_(2)C through carburization *** to finite element simulation and analysis,the CD@Mo_(2)C possesses better mesoscale diffusion properties than Mo_(2)C *** optimized CD@Mo_(2)C nanoreactor demonstrates superior HER performance in alkaline electrolyte with a low overpotential of 57 mV at 10 mA cm^(−2),which is better than most Mo_(2)C-based ***,CD@Mo_(2)C exhibits excellent electrochemical stability during 240 h,confirmed by operando Raman and X-ray diffraction(XRD).Density functional theory(DFT)calculations show that carbon dots cause the d-band center of CD@Mo_(2)C to shift away from Fermi level,promoting water dissociation and the desorption of H^(*).This study provides a reasonable strategy towards high-activity Mo-based HER eletrocatalysts by modulating the strength of Mo–H bonds.
