Experimental Investigation on Vortex-Induced Vibration of Deep-Sea Risers of Different Excitation Water Depths

The vortex-induced vibration test of the deep-sea riser was carried out with different excitation water depths in the wave-current combined water *** dimensionally changing the multi-stage water depth and hydrodynamic parameters such as outflow velocity at various water depths,the dynamic response parameters such as dominant frequency,dimensionless displacement and vibration trajectory evolution process of the riser under different excitation water depths were explored to reveal the sensitive characteristics of the dynamic response of vortexinduced vibration of the risers under different excitation water *** results show that different excitation water depths will change the additional mass of the riser and the fluid damping and other parameters,which will affect the spatial correlation and stability of the vortex shedding behind the *** the lock-in region,the distribution range of the characteristic frequency becomes narrow and centered on the lock-in *** increase of the excitation water depth gradually advances the starting point of the lock-in region of the riser,and at the same time promotes the excitation of the higher-order vibration frequency of the riser *** the dimensionless excitation water depth,the dominant frequency and dimensionless displacement are highly insensitive to the excitation water depth at high flow *** change of the excitation water depth will interfere with the correlation of the non-linear coupling of the ***“8-shaped”gradually becomes irregular,and the vibration trajectories of the riser show“O-shape”,“X-shape”and“Crescent-shape”.

Peroxynitrite（ONOO-） is a highly reactive nitrogen species that plays pivotal roles in cell signal transduction and physiological or pathological progresses. However, commonly used ONOO-optical imaging probes are still hampered by high background/autofluorescence（fluorescence probe）, short emission wavelength, or poor selectivity in the case of chemiluminescence. Herein,we report a facile method to prepare an activatable chemiluminescence probe（PPA-PEG） with good biocompatibility and functionality for in vivo autofluorescence-free imaging of ONOO-. The PPA-PEG consists of pyropheophorbide-a（PPA）, a typical deep red photosensitizer that acts as both the recognition and signaling element, and 4-arm poly（ethylene glycol）(4-arm PEG), which improves the biosafety and water solubility of probe. These components can self-assemble into nanoparticles（namely PPA-PEG nanoprobe） in aqueous solution. The PPA-PEG nanoprobe showed an ultra-low chemiluminescence signal before interacting with ONOO-, but exhibited good selectivity, high sensitivity and a fast response toward ONOO-. The PPAPEG was successfully applied to image cellular ONOO-changes, as well as the endogenous ONOO-changes in inflammation models and subcutaneous or orthotopic hepatocellular carcinoma（HCC） tumors models in living mice. In vitro and in vivo studies verified the good detection and imaging capabilities of PPA-PEG for peroxynitrite, demonstrating suitable tissue penetration and a high signal-to-background ratio（SBR）. Thus, our nanoprobe can serve as a valuable activatable chemiluminescence imaging tool for studying important peroxynitrite-related chemical and biological applications.

Analysis of nonlinear vibration for symmetric angle-ply laminated viscoelastic plates with damage

The behavior of nonlinear vibration for symmetric angle-ply laminated plates including the material viscoelasticity and damage evolution is investigated. By employing the von Karman＇s nonlinear theory, strain energy equivalence principle and Boltzmann superposition principle, a set of governing equations of nonlinear integro-differential type are derived. By applying the finite difference method, Newmark method and iterative procedure, the governing equations are solved. The effects of loading amplitudes, exciting frequencies and different ply orientations on the critical time to failure initiation and nonlinear vibration amplitudes of the structures are discussed. Numerical results are presented for the different parameters and compared with the available data.

Electrocatalytic nitrate reduction reaction （NO3-RR） to ammonia under ambient conditions is expected to be a green process for ammonia synthesis and alleviate water pollution *** report a CuO nanoparticles incorporated on nitrogen-doped porous carbon （CuO@NC） catalyst for *** of Cu（Ⅱ） is reduced to Cu（Ⅰ） during the NO3-RR process to construct Cu（Ⅰ）-Cu（Ⅱ） pairs,confirmed by in situ X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy （XPS） and Raman *** functional theory （DFT） calculations indicated that the formation of Cu（Ⅰ） could provide a reaction path with smaller energy barrier for NO3-RR,while Cu（Ⅱ） effectively suppressed the competition of hydrogen evolution reaction （HER）.As a result,CuO@NC catalyst achieved a Faradaic efficiency of 84.2% at -0.49 V versus reversible hydrogen electrode （RHE）,and a NH3yield rate of 17.2 mg *** -0.79 V ***,higher than the HaberBosch process (<3.4 g h-1g-1cat.).This work may open a new avenue for effective NO3-RR by modulating oxidation states.

In situ transmission electron microscopy and artificial intelligence enabled data analytics for energy materials

Energy materials are vital to energy conversion and storage devices that make renewable resources viable for electrification technologies. In situ transmission electron microscopy(TEM) is a powerful approach to characterize the dynamic evolution of material structure, morphology, and chemistry at the atomic scale in real time and in operando. In this review, recent advancements of in situ TEM techniques for studying energy materials, including catalysts, batteries, photovoltaics, and thermoelectrics, are systematically discussed and summarized. The topics include a broad range of material transformations that are in situ stimulated by heating, biasing, lighting, electron-beam illuminating, and cryocooling under vacuum, liquid, or gas environments within TEM, as well as the mechanistic understanding of the associated solid-solid, solid-liquid, and solid-gas reactions elucidated by in situ TEM examination and operando measurements. Special focus is also put on the emerging progress of artificial intelligence enabled microscopy data analytics, including machine learning enhanced tools for retrieving useful information from massive TEM imaging, diffraction, and spectroscopy datasets, highlighting its merits and potential for automated in situ TEM experimentation and analysis. Finally, the pressing challenges and future perspectives on in situ TEM study for energy-related materials are discussed.

Studying molecular recognition in aqueous environments is crucial for understanding biological processes. Herein, we present a series of N-doped endo-functionalized anthracene-based cavities by introducing inward-directed pyridine units. The subtle modifications can significantly affect the binding properties of these receptors, which is similar to the mutations in biological systems. Combining theoretical calculations and molecular recognition experiments demonstrated that these “mutations” have an impact on the hydrophobicity and charge distribution of the hosts, consequently significantly influencing molecular *** is crucial for understanding the intricate mechanisms of molecular-level interactions in biological receptors.

Dual-ligand chiral MOFs exhibiting circularly polarized room temperature phosphorescence for anti-counterfeiting

Advanced chiral optical materials exhibiting circularly polarized room-temperature phosphorescence（CPRTP） possess significant research value. This study facilitates the synthesis of chiral metal-organic frameworks（CMOFs） with good CPRTP performance by implementing a dual-ligand strategy. By self-assembling the luminescent ligand H2BIIM with the chiral ligands L-or D-H2IDPA in the presence of Zn（II） ions, two robust three-dimensional（3D） CMOFs were successfully constructed. These complexes demonstrated intense fluorescence and exhibited prolonged yellow room-temperature phosphorescence（RTP） with a duration of up to 6 s. Notably, they exhibited both circularly polarized fluorescence(glum= ±7.57 × 10-3) and CPRTP(glum=±2.68 × 10-3). These unique properties were effectively utilized in the creation of multi-color anti-counterfeiting patterns,underscoring their promising potential for a wide range of applications.
