The European Commission has proposed a Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism(CBAM)to reduce carbon leakage and create a level playing field for its domestic products and imported ***,the effectiveness of the proposal remains unclear,especially when it triggers threats of retaliation from trading partners of the European *** apply a Computable General Equilibrium model-Global Trade Analysis Project-to assess the economic and environmental impacts of different CBAM *** we show that the effectiveness of the CBAM to address carbon leakage risks is rather limited,and the CBAM raises concerns over global welfare costs,Correct to Gross Domestic Product(GDP)losses,and violation of equality *** retaliation leads to multiplied welfare losses,which would mostly be borne by poor *** results question the carbon leakage reduction effect of a unilateral trade policy and suggest that climate change mitigation still needs to be performed within the framework of international cooperation.

Constructing a S-scheme heterojunction with tight interface contact and fast charge transfer is beneficial to improving the photocatalytic hydrogen evolution ***,a unique one-dimensional(1D)/two-dimensional(2D)S-scheme heterojunction containing 1D Sb_(2)S_(3) nanorods and 2D ZnIn_(2)S_(4) with affluent sulfur vacancies(denoted as Sv-ZnIn_(2)S_(4)@Sb_(2)S_(3)) was *** introduced sulfur vacancy can promote the effective adsorption of H+for the following interfacial hydrogen-evolution ***,the larger contact area and stronger electron interaction between Sb_(2)S_(3) and ZnIn_(2)S_(4) effectively inhibits the recombination of photo-generated electron–hole pairs and abridges the migration distance of *** a result,the optimal Sv-ZnIn_(2)S_(4)@Sb_(2)S_(3) sample achieves H_(2) evolution activity of 2741.3 mol·h^(−1)·g^(−1),which is 8.6 times that of pristine ZnIn_(2)S_(4) and 3.0 times that of the Sv-ZnIn_(2)S_(4) *** on the experimental result,the photo-reactivity S-scheme mechanism of hydrogen evolution from water splitting with Sv-ZnIn_(2)S_(4)@Sb_(2)S_(3) is *** work provides an effective method for developing S-scheme heterojunction composites of transition metal sulfide with high hydrogen evolution performance.

Due to the rapid advancement of technologies,there has been a significant increase in the discharge of industrial wastewater,and freshwater is becoming a scarce ***,research on solar evaporators is mainly focused on the efficient production of clean water,with less emphasis on the removal of residual pollutants remaining in the original *** this study,problems,including the difficult recovery of catalyst powder and the difficult removal of floating organic matter are solved by co-depositing low-surface-tension zirconia particles and bismuth tungstate onto the floating *** and melamine sponges were combined to solve the problem that traditional hydrogels lack mechanical *** excellent water-repellent effect can be seen from the contact angle between the liquid globule and canvas/felt,which is greater than 155°.The steam generation rate of the assembled evaporation system is 1.78 kg m^(-2)h^(-1),and its purification efficiency for methyl orange and rhodamine B exceeds 99%.This study presents a novel strategy for treating wastewater contaminated with organic dyes,aiming to solve problems including environmental damage,water pollution,and water scarcity.

Joint time–frequency analysis is an emerging method for interpreting the underlying physics in fuel cells,batteries,and *** increase the reliability of time–frequency analysis,a theoretical correlation between frequency-domain stationary analysis and time-domain transient analysis is urgently *** present work formularizes a thorough model reduction of fractional impedance spectra for electrochemical energy devices involving not only the model reduction from fractional-order models to integer-order models and from high-to low-order RC circuits but also insight into the evolution of the characteristic time constants during the whole reduction *** following work has been carried out:(i)the model-reduction theory is addressed for typical Warburg elements and RC circuits based on the continued fraction expansion theory and the response error minimization technique,respectively;(ii)the order effect on the model reduction of typical Warburg elements is quantitatively evaluated by time–frequency analysis;(iii)the results of time–frequency analysis are confirmed to be useful to determine the reduction order in terms of the kinetic information needed to be captured;and(iv)the results of time–frequency analysis are validated for the model reduction of fractional impedance spectra for lithium-ion batteries,supercapacitors,and solid oxide fuel *** turn,the numerical validation has demonstrated the powerful function of the joint time–frequency *** thorough model reduction of fractional impedance spectra addressed in the present work not only clarifies the relationship between time-domain transient analysis and frequency-domain stationary analysis but also enhances the reliability of the joint time–frequency analysis for electrochemical energy devices.

Tropomyosin (TM) is the predominant allergenic protein in shrimp， which has induced IgE-mediated food allergy reactions. In this study， Lit v 1 was purified from Penaeus vannamei muscles， which were glycosylated by pectic oligosaccharides. The results showed that Di-Galacturonic acid (DGA) and galacturonic acid (GA) induced the unfolding of the primary protein structure of TM， and changed alpha-helical structure， and IgE binding capacity. In addition， compared with TM-sensitized BALB/c mice， galacturonic acid-modified TM (GA-TM) and Di-Galacturonic acid-modified TM (DGA-TM) were insufficient to stimulate sensitization， and significantly reduced the hypersecretion of IgE， IgG1， HIS， and IL-4， up-regulated IgG2a and IFN-γ levels to improve imbalanced Th1/Th2， Treg/Th17 immunity， and promoted mRNA expression of tight junction proteins. Together， this study confirmed that glycosylation modification alleviated sensitization by altering TM structure， reducing IgE binding allergic inflammatory response， and regulating cytokine immune balance. Overall， these results indicated that glycosylation modification was a promising method for decreasing the allergenic reactivity of allergic proteins.

Central to the challenges faced in this domain are persistent defects such as central segregation, V-shaped segregation, and center porosity, which significantly impede the production of high-caliber steel products. The discipline of electromagnetic metallurgy has emerged as a critical solution in reducing these defects, thereby enhancing the efficiency and stability of continuous casting operations. Its demonstrated effectiveness has led to its widespread implementation across global and domestic steel production industries. This paper aims to deliver a comprehensive examination of electromagnetic metallurgy's impact on the final stages of solidification in continuous casting, along with its contributions to the heating and purification processes within the tundish. Additionally, it will explore the potential advancements and applications of this technology in the evolving sphere of continuous casting.

Mineral potential mapping using RF， fuzzy AHP and their ensemble model: A case study of the Daping Gold Deposits， Yunnan Province， China

Analyzing and integrating evidential layers is essential for mineral prospectivity mapping. Remote sensing data from Landsat 8 and PALSAR-2/ALOS-2 were used to extract information about hydrothermal alterations and lineaments in a vegetation-covered study area. After integrating geological data， five evidential layers were identified， associated with gold mineralization， including lithology， hydrothermal alterations， lineaments， quartz veins， and geochemical anomalies. Based on these layers， prospective maps for mineralization were generated using RF and fuzzy AHP models， as well as their ensemble. The P-A plot was used to evaluate the capability of model prediction. The results indicated that the three models yielded similar predictions， with areas of high mineralization potential located in the central part of the Daping area. The ensemble model demonstrated superior predictive performance.

A 10 × 10 solar-blind ultraviolet(UV) imaging array with double-layer wire structure was prepared based on Ga_(2)O_(3) film grown by atomic layer deposition. These single detection units in the array exhibit excellent performance at 3 V: photo-todark current ratio(PDCR) of 5.5 × 10^(5), responsivity(R) of 4.28 A/W, external quantum efficiency(EQE) of 2.1 × 10^(3)%, detectivity(D*) of 1.5 × 10^(14) Jones, and fast response time. The photodetector array shows high uniformity under different light intensity and low operating bias. The array also has good temperature stability. Under 300 ℃, it still presents clear imaging and keeps high R of 34.4 and 6.45 A/W at 5 and 1 V, respectively. This work provides a new insight for the large-scale array of Ga_(2)O_(3) solarblind UV detectors.

High-performance wood-based thermoelectric sponges for thermal energy harvesting and smart buildings

The development of renewable woods for power generation can help improve the energy efficiency of buildings,and promote the concept design and implementation of“smart buildings”.Here,with specific chemical treatment and hydrothermal synthesis,we demonstrated the practical value of natural wood for thermoelectric power generation in smart *** prepared wood-based thermoelectric sponges show high Seebeck coefficients of 320.5 and 436.6μV/K in the vertical and parallel directions of the longitudinal channel of *** 500 cycles of the compressive strain at 20%,the corresponding Seebeck coefficients increase up to 413.4 and 502.1μV/K,respectively,which is attributed to the improved contact and connection between tellurium thermoelectric *** Seebeck coefficients are much larger than those of most reported inorganic thermoelectric ***,the thermoelectric sponges maintain excellent thermoelectric and mechanical *** further modeled the application value of wood-based thermoelectric sponges in smart buildings for power *** high thermoelectric electricity can be obtained,such as in Beijing with over 1.5 million kWh every year,demonstrating the great potential in thermal energy harvest and energy supply.
