Numerical simulation research on multiphase flow of aviation centrifugal pump based on OpenFOAM

This paper aims to tackle the calculation efficiency problem raised in the cavitation-flow simulation of the aviation centrifugal pump due to the fading-away interface resulting from the dissipation of numerics used in the phase-change control equation for unstructured-grid multiphase flow,and due to the limitation of flow time-step in whole flow regimes,the control equation of vapor–liquid two-phase flow considering cavitation mass transport is established firstly,modifying the momentum equation by introducing the surface tension,and adding the artificial convective flow to the phase equation to solve the numerical dissipation ***,in consideration of the local time step principle and based on the multi-dimensional general limiter algorithm with explicit solutions under the OpenFOAM platform,a solution method of steady-state VOF (Volume of Fluid) model considering cavitation two-phase change is constructed,and the feasibility of this method is verified by NACA hydrofoil and NASA flat plate ***,based on the platform developed,the cavitation performance of an aviation centrifugal pump inducer is *** research results show that the error of the calculated cavitation pressure distribution for NACA hydrofoil between the simulation test and the experimental-test is less than 5%,and the maximum error of calculated cavitation number at pump head dropping for NASA high-speed flat plate inducer between the simulation test and the experimental-test is 2.1%.The cavitation area observed in the simulation test is the same as that obtained in the high-speed photography *** on the OpenFOAM simulation method,the position of pump head dropping of the fuel centrifugal pump can be accurately *** error of the calculated cavitation number at pump head dropping between the simulation test and the experimental test is about 3.7%,showing high calculation accuracy.

Flexible and wearable pressure sensors hold immense promise for health monitoring,covering disease detection and postoperative *** pressure sensors with high sensitivity,wide detection range,and cost-effectiveness is *** leveraging paper for its sustainability,biocompatibility,and inherent porous structure,herein,a solution-processed all-paper resistive pressure sensor is designed with outstanding performance.A ternary composite paste,comprising a compressible 3D carbon skeleton,conductive polymer poly(3,4-ethylene dioxythiophene):poly(styrenesulfonate),and cohesive carbon nanotubes,is blade-coated on paper and naturally dried to form the porous composite electrode with hierachical micro-and nano-structured *** with screen-printed Cu electrodes in submillimeter finger widths on rough paper,this creates a multiscale hierarchical contact interface between electrodes,significantly enhancing sensitivity(1014 kPa-1)and expanding the detection range(up to 300 kPa)of as-resulted all-paper pressure sensor with low detection limit and power *** versatility ranges from subtle wrist pulses,robust finger taps,to large-area spatial force detection,highlighting its intricate submillimetermicrometer-nanometer hierarchical interface and nanometer porosity in the composite ***,this all-paper resistive pressure sensor,with its superior sensing capabilities,large-scale fabrication potential,and cost-effectiveness,paves the way for next-generation wearable electronics,ushering in an era of advanced,sustainable technological solutions.

This paper concerns the linearization problem on rational maps of degree d≥2 and polynomials of degree d>2 from the perspective of *** authors introduce a set l_(∞) of irrational numbers and show that if α∈l_(∞),then any rational map is not linearizable and has infinitely many cycles in every neighborhood of the fixed point with multiplier λ=e^(2πiα),Adding more constraints to cubic polynomials,they discuss the above problems by polynomial-like *** the family of polynomials,with the help of Yoccoz's method,they obtain its maximum dimension of the set in which the polynomials are non-linearizable.

Constructing heterostructures has proved to be a successful strategy to fabricate electrocatalysts with high efficiency for water ***,the structure evolution in alkaline hydrogen evolution reaction lacks investigation and the specific active center remains ***,we take the well-designed Ni_(3)S_(2)@VO_(2) heterostructures as a model to investigate the electrocatalytic activity and the surface reconstruction process of heterostructure catalysts in alkaline *** Ni_(3)S_(2)@VO_(2) heterostructures,with Ni_(3)S_(2) nanorods as the core and VO_(2) nanoflakes as the shell,coupled with the high conductive Ni_(3)S_(2),the hydrophilic VO_(2) and modulated electronic structures at the interfaces,exhibited prominent activity and superior stability at various current ***,the ex-situ characterizations confirmed that the surface reconstruction from Ni_(3)S_(2)@VO_(2) into Ni_(3)S_(2)@amorphous-Ni(OH)_(2) in alkaline media could optimize the water dissociation barrier and exposed large active area,thereby contributing to improved electrocatalytic *** study not only introduces novel high-performance electrocatalysts for hydrogen evolution reaction(HER),but also provides a new avenue for re-examining hetero-structural catalysts in alkaline solutions.

Metal-free graphitic carbon nitride(g-C_(3)N_(4))has captured significant attention as a low-cost and efficient hydrogen production photocatalyst *** regulating the microstructure and accelerating the separation of photogenerated carriers remain crucial strategies for promoting the photocatalytic performance of this ***,a novel sulfur–carbon co-doped g-C_(3)N_(4)(SCCN)hierarchical microtubules filled with abundant nanosheets inside by thermal polymerization is *** nanosheets create abundant pores and cavities inside the SCCN microtubes,thereby increasing the specific surface area of g-C_(3)N_(4)and providing sufficient reactant attachment ***,the hierarchical structure of SCCN microtubules strengthens the reflection and scattering of light,and the utilization of visible light is favorably *** importantly,co-doping S and C has greatly improved the photocatalytic performance of graphitic carbon nitride,optimized the band gap structure and enhanced the photogenerated carrier ***,the SCCN exhibits a remarkable photocatalytic H_(2)evolution rate of 4868μmol/(g·h).This work demonstrates the potential of multi-nonmetal doped g-C_(3)N_(4)as the ideal photocatalyst for H2 evolution.

The development of a durable metallic coating on diverse substrates is both intriguing and challenging,particularly in the research of metal-conductive materials for applications such as batteries,soft electronics,and ***,by learning from the pencil-writing process,a facile solid-ink rubbing technology(SIR-tech)is invented to address the above *** solid-ink is exampled by rational combination of liquid metal and graphite *** harnessing the synergistic effects between rubbing and adhesion,controllable metallic skin is successfully formed onto metals,woods,ceramics,and plastics without limitation in size and ***,outperforming pure liquid-metal coating,the composite metallic skin by SIR-tech is very robust due to the self-lamination of graphite nanoplate exfoliated by liquid-metal *** critical factors controlling the structures-properties of the composite metallic skin have been systematically investigated as *** applications,the SIR-tech is demonstrated to fabricate high-performance composite current collectors for next-generation batteries without traditional metal ***,advanced skin-electrodes are further demonstrated for stable triboelectricity generation even under temperature fluctuation from-196 to 120℃.This facile and highly-flexible SIR-tech may work as a powerful platform for the studies on functional coatings by liquid metals and beyond.

Oily wastewater from ocean oil spills endangers marine ecosystems and human health. Therefore, developing an effective and sustainable solution for separating oil-water mixtures is urgent. Interfacial solar photothermal evaporation is a promising approach for the complete separation of two-phase mixtures using only solar energy. Herein, we report a carbonized wood-based absorber with Janus structure of comprising a hydrophobic top-layer and an oleophobic bottom-layer for simultaneous solar-driven oil-water separation and electricity generation. Under sunlight irradiation, the rapid evaporation of seawater will induce a separation of oil-water mixtures, and cause a high salt concentration region underlying the interface, while the bottom “bulk water” maintains in a low salt concentration, thus forming a salinity gradient. Electricity can be generated by salinity gradient power. Therefore, oil-water separation efficiency of > 99% and derived extra electricity power of ~0.1 W/m2 is achieved under solar radiation, demonstrating the feasibility of oil-water separation and electricity production synchronously directly using solar energy. This work provides a green and cost-effective path for the separation of oil-water mixtures.
