Diversity,bioactivities,and metabolic potentials of endophytic actinomycetes isolated from traditional medicinal plants in Sichuan,China

The present study was designed to determine the taxonomic diversity and metabolic activity of the actinomycetes community, including 13 traditional medicinal plants collected in Sichuan province, China, using multiple approaches such as morphological and molecular identification methods, bioactivity assays, and PCR screening for genes involved in antibiotics biosynthesis. 119 endophytic actinomycetes were recovered; 80 representative strains were chosen for 16 S r RNA gene partial sequence analyses, with 66 of them being affiliated to genus Streptomyces and the remaining 14 strains being rare actinomycetes. Antimicrobial tests showed that 12(15%) of the 80 endophytic actinomycetes displayed inhibitory effects against at least one indicator pathogens, which were all assigned to the genus Streptomyces. In addition, 87.5% and 58.8% of the isolates showed anticancer and anti-diabetic activities, respectively. Meanwhile, the anticancer activities of the isolates negatively correlated with their anti-diabetic activities. Based on the results of PCR screening, five genes, PKS-I, PKS-II, NRPS, ANSA, and oxy B, were detected in 55.0%, 58.8%, 90.0%, 18.8% and 8.8% of the 80 actinomycetes, respectively. In conclusion, the PCR screening method employed in the present study was conducive for screening and selection of potential actinomycetes and predicting potential secondary metabolites, which could overcome the limitations of traditional activity screening models.

AIM: To identify the susceptible gene (s) for type 2 diabetes in the prevousely mapped region, 1p36.33-p36.23, in Han population of North China using single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) and to analyze the haplotypes of the gene (s) related to type 2 ***: Twenty three SNPs located in 10 candidate genes in the mapped region were chosen from public SNP domains with bioinformatic methods, and the single base extension (SBE) method was used to genotype the loci for 192 sporadic type 2 diabetes patients and 172 normal individuals, all with Hah ethical origin, to perform this casecontrol study. The haplotypes with significant difference in the gene (s) were further ***: Among the 23 SNPs, 8 were found to be common in Chinese Han population. Allele frequency of one SNP,rs436045 in the protein kinase C/ζgene (PRKCZ) was statistically different between the case and control groups (P＜0.05). furthermore, haplotypes at five SNP sites of PRKCZ gene were ***: PRKCZgene may be associated with type 2 diabetes in Hah population in North China. The haplotypes at five SNP sites in this gene may be responsible for this association.

Task-specific Part Discovery for Fine-grained Few-shot Classification

Localizing discriminative object parts(e.g.,bird head)is crucial for fine-grained classification tasks,especially for the more challenging fine-grained few-shot *** work always relies on the learned object parts in a unified manner,where they attend the same object parts(even with common attention weights)for different few-shot episodic *** this paper,we propose that it should adaptively capture the task-specific object parts that require attention for each few-shot task,since the parts that can distinguish different tasks are naturally *** for a few-shot task,after obtaining part-level deep features,we learn a task-specific part-based dictionary for both aligning and reweighting part features in an ***,part-level categorical prototypes are generated based on the part features of support data,which are later employed by calculating distances to classify query data for *** retain the discriminative ability of the part-level representations(i.e.,part features and part prototypes),we design an optimal transport solution that also utilizes query data in a transductive way to optimize the aforementioned distance calculation for the final *** experiments on five fine-grained benchmarks show the superiority of our method,especially for the 1-shot setting,gaining 0.12%,8.56%and 5.87%improvements over state-of-the-art methods on CUB,Stanford Dogs,and Stanford Cars,respectively.

Status and functions of Regional Power Grid Corporations

Glioblastoma multiforme(GBM) is the most common primary malignant brain tumor, and it is associated with poor prognosis. Its characteristics of being highly invasive and undergoing heterogeneous genetic mutation, as well as the presence of the blood–brain barrier(BBB), have reduced the efficacy of GBM treatment. The emergence of a novel therapeutic method, namely, sonodynamic therapy(SDT), provides a promising strategy for eradicating tumors via activated sonosensitizers coupled with low-intensity ultrasound. SDT can provide tumor killing effects for deep-seated tumors, such as brain tumors. However, conventional sonosensitizers cannot effectively reach the tumor region and kill additional tumor cells, especially brain tumor cells. Efforts should be made to develop a method to help therapeutic agents pass through the BBB and accumulate in brain tumors. With the development of novel multifunctional nanosensitizers and newly emerging combination strategies, the killing ability and selectivity of SDT have greatly improved and are accompanied with fewer side effects. In this review, we systematically summarize the findings of previous studies on SDT for GBM, with a focus on recent developments and promising directions for future research.

An origin of ultraslow spreading ridges for the Yarlung-Tsangpo ophiolites

As relics of ancient ocean lithosphere,ophiolites are the most important petrological evidence for marking the sutures and also play a key role in reconstructing plate *** also provide valuable windows for studying crustal accretion and mantle processes occurring at modem ocean *** ophiolites are distributed along the Yarlung-Tsangpo suture and represent the relics of ocean lithosphere of the *** are characterized by an incomplete litho-stratigraphy,of which the mantle section is much thicker than the crustal *** crustal rocks outcropped in the Yarlung-Tsangpo ophiolites are much thinner than normal ocean crusts(~7 km)or even *** settings from which the Yarlung-Tsangpo ophiolites originated remain highly controversial,although an origin of the supra-subduction zone is ***,their incomplete litho-stratigraphy has been commonly attributed to tectonic dismemberment during the late-stage emplacement after their ***,such an incompleteness resembles the ocean lithosphere generated at modem ultraslow spreading ridges,such as the Southwest Indian Ridge(SWIR).In this paper,we present several lines of evidence that support the formation of the Yarlung-Tsangpo ophiolites at ultraslow spreading ridges,during which detachment faults were *** suggests that the Yarlung-Tsangpo ophiolites might represent the ocean core complexes(OCC)in the Neo-Tethys *** OCC with high topography in the seafloor were clogged in the trench and preserved as ophiolites through Indo-Eurasia *** clogging resulted in the demise of an old subduction and a new subduction was re-initiated beneath the clogged OCC.

A Computer System for Forecasting the Threshold Period for Crop Weed Control

In this article, a model of a weed control threshold forecast system has been established, with related model solving, data checking, database setting up, and system engineering illustration. Moreover, it is tested by a software with data from a sugar cane planting experimental field in Yunnan, China. The methodology behind the detailed system analysis, design, and engineering has been discussed. The issue of how to create a dynamic data-dependent forecast model of a threshold forecast system, whose threshold changes according to the change of planting environment has been solved. Hence an effective solution has been initiated for further development on an agricultural expert system.

Estimation of soil organic carbon stock and its controlling factors in cropland of Yunnan Province,China

Soil organic carbon(SOC)is the most important indicators of soil quality and *** the spatial distribution of SOC and its influencing factors in cropland is crucial to understand the terrestrial carbon cycle and optimize agronomic *** Province,characterized by mountainous topography and varied elevation,is one of the highest SOC regions in *** its SOC stock of cropland and influencing factors has not been fully studied due to the lack of adequate soil *** this study,the digital mapping of SOC at 1 km resolution and the estimation of total SOC stock in cropland of Yunnan Province was undertaken using 8637 topsoil(0-20 cm)samples and a series of spatial data through Random Forest(RF)*** was showed that across the cropland of Yunnan Province,the mean SOC density and total stock were 4.84 kg m^(-2) and 337.5 Mt,*** spatial distribution indicated that relatively high SOC density regions resided in the northwest and northeast parts of Yunnan ***(19.5%),temperature(17.3%),rainfall(14.5%),and Topographic wetness index(9.9%)were the most important factors which controlled spatial variability of SOC *** practices(e.g.,crop straw treatments,fertilizer management)should be optimized for the sustainable development of crop production with high SOC sequestration capacity in Yunnan Province.

Effect of Aluminium Nanoparticles on the Performance of Bulk Heterojunction Organic Solar Cells

Al nanoparticles(NPs)are incorporated in the active layers to enhance the performance of organic solar cells(OSCs).The improved short circuit current Jsc and power conversion efficiency(PCE)for OSCs with Al NPs are observed.A final PCE of 3.66wt%is achieved,which is an improvement of more than 30wt%compared to a standard cell with a PCE of 2.84wt%.When the mass of Al NPs is 10wt%of OSCs,the device performance is *** optical performance of OSCs reveals that the absorption from sunlight *** external quantum efficiency spectra suggests that the Al NPs in the active layers influence the efficiency of converting photons into electrons,which leads to the improvements in the *** enhanced photovoltaic performance induced by incorporating Al NPs in the active layer is discussed in the terms of increasing charge separation at the donor-acceptor interface and the effectively decreasing transmission distance of charge in polymer.

Use of nerve elongator to repair short-distance peripheral nerve defects: a prospective randomized study

Repair techniques for short-distance peripheral nerve defects, including adjacent joint flexion to reduce the distance between the nerve stump defects, ＂nerve splint＂ suturing, and nerve sle eve connection, have some disadvantages. Therefore, we designed a repair technique involving intraoperative tension-free application of a nerve elongator and obtained good outcomes in the repair of short-distance peripheral nerve defects in a previous animal study. The present study compared the clinical outcomes between the use of this nerve elongator and performance of the conventional method in the repair of short-distance transection injuries in human elbows. The 3-, 6-, and 12-month postoperative follow-up results demonstrated that early neurological function recovery was better in the nerve elongation group than in the conventional group, but no signif- icant difference in long-term neurological function recovery was detected between the two gro ups. In the nerve elongation group, the nerves were sutured without tension, and the duration of postoperative immobilization of the elbow was decreased. Elbow function rehabilitation was significantly better in the nerve elongation group than in the control group. Moreover, there were no security risks. The results of this study confirm that the use of this nerve elongator for repair of short-distance peripheral nerve defects is safe and effective.
