Tunable photoredox-catalyzed chlorosulfonylation and oxysulfonylation ofα-trifluoromethylstyrenes with sulfonyl chloride were facilely achieved by simply manipulating the photocatalyst and solvent.This strategy makes full use of the structural features of sulfonyl chloride to afford diverse bifunctional products ofα-trifluoromethylstyrenes in up to 95%yield with excellent functional group tolerance.

In order to investigate the temperature characteristics of wood during microwave(MW) treatments,optical fiber sensors were used to measure wood(Pinus sylvestris L. var. mongolica Litv.) temperatures. The results show that the development of internal temperatures in wood basically includes two patterns during the process of MW treatment. The first may be divided into three phases: warming, constant temperature, and a sharply rising phase. The second pattern may be divided into two phases: warming, and constant temperature. The maximum temperature(MT) and rate of temperature increase(RTI)rose as the microwave power increased. The initial wood moisture content decreased while the period of constant temperature fell. Temperatures varied in different positions in the wood. The order of MT and RTI levels were the upper surface, center, bottom surface and the end point.Along the direction of wood thickness, the closer the monitoring point was to the generator, the faster the temperature increased. The MT and RTI of the end point was a minimum value because of the rapid removal of steam.

The stress corrosion cracking(SCC)behavior of a 1900 MPa-grade ultra-high-strength stainless steel in 3.5 wt.% NaCl solution was investigated by X-ray diffractometer,scanning electron microscopy,electron back-scattered diffraction,X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy,and potentiodynamic polarization curves.The results showed that USS122G stel has good SCC resistance,and the critical stress intensiy factor(K_(iscc))of USS122G steel was about 68.906 MPa m^(1/2) and Kiscc/K_(ic)=0.76(K_(ic) is plane strain fracture toughness).The existence of film-like austenite along the lath martensite boundary and the protective effect of thecc passivation flm were the main factors for its high Kiscc.Among them,the main components of the passivation film on the surface of USS122G steel were Cr_(2)O_(3),Cr(OH)_(3),FeOOH,and Ni(OH)_(2).The fracture morphology of SCC zone was intergranular and transgranular.Through the slow and fast scanning rate polarization curve test results,it can be concluded that SCC mechanism of USS122G steel in 3.5 wt.%NaCl solution at the open-circuit potential was a mixed mechanism involving hydrogen embritlement and anodic dissolution.

Infectious bursal disease(IBD)causes considerable economic losses in the commercial poultry industry worldwide.The principal way to control IBD virus(IBDV),the causative agent of IBD,is still through vaccination programs.Virus-like particles(VLPs)are recognised as a safe and potent recombinant vaccine platform.This research work explores the characterisation and separation of infectious bursal disease virus-like particles(IBD-VLPs)from crude feedstock.Various characteristics were studied with highperformance size-exclusion chromatography(HP-SEC),sodium dodecyl sulphate–polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis(SDS-PAGE)and transmission electron microscopy(TEM)analyses.Subsequently,the separation of IBD-VLPs using polyethylene glycol(PEG)/sodium citrate-based aqueous two-phase systems(ATPSs)was conducted and optimised.Moreover,a scale-up study of the best ATPS constituted of 15%PEG 6000,11%sodium citrate and 10%crude feedstock was performed to compare the separation performance of IBD-VLPs with and without centrifugation-assisted.The results indicated that the optimised ATPS with centrifugation-assisted for both 5 g and 50 g systems showed good recovery of IBDVLPs of>97%in the interphase between the PEG-rich top and salt-rich bottom phases.These optimised systems also showed high removal efficiencies of impurities of>95%.The results demonstrated that aqueous two-phase extraction could be a promising technology for efficient VLPs separation.

Abundant FeS2 with high theoretical capacity is one of the promising anode candidates in sodium-ion batteries(SlBs),however,the uneven sodium deposition due to the poor interface compatibility and sluggish reaction kinetics because of the high activation barrier still plague its practical application.Herein,we synthesized the ordered porous carbon matrix wrapped FeS2 nanoparticles(FeS_2@OCN)with high sodium wettability and low pore tortuosity to economically enhance the interface compatibility as well as to lower the energy barrier in SIBs.The synergistic effects of low tortuosity pores and strong sodium wettability homogenize the Na+flux distribution,bring the electron dislocation via the enrichment of edgenitrogen(Pyridinic N and Pyrrolic N),thus achieving the dendrite-free sodium deposition and dramatically enhanced reaction kinetics.Benefiting from exceptional structural/compositional/electronic merits,the resultant anode is endowed with exceptional structure stability,achieving long-term cycling stability of 451.9 mAh·g^(-1)after 1000cycles at 1 A·g^(-1)with specific capacity retention of 92.9%.Attenuated electrode tortuosity and high sodium wettability can corporately improve the interface compatibility and attenuate the activation barrier of the FeS_2 host and beyond.

Centenarians,as excellent examples of extreme yet successful aging,not only display a much longer lifespan but can also delay or even escape major agerelated diseases,such as cardiovascular disorders,neurodegenerative diseases,and cancer [1].Studies have suggested that genetic factors account for 20%-30%of human longevity [2];however,only a handful of longevity-associated genes/mutations have been observed in long-lived individuals,even with the use of genome-wide scanning/sequencing assays [3,4].In contrast,evidence has shown the crucial roles of epigenetic alternations in aging and age-related diseases [5],suggesting that epigenetic modifications play central roles in human healthy aging.Thus,a comprehensive analysis of the epigenomic landscape of centenarians is urgently needed.

In order to research the uncertainty propagation laws of Mars entry dynamic equations for the Mars entry phase,an improved method was presented for analyzing the effect of the initial state uncertainties and uncertainty factor on the system state in the state trajectories.When applying the method to the entry phase of one of the NASA Mars exploration missions,the simulation results agreed well with the Monte Carlo method,especially the flight path angle simulation at least reaching 92%.It is found that the improved method can not only predict the uncertainty propagation laws with high accuracy of at least 92%in flight path angle simulation and large application scope from-0.1degree to 0.1degree,compared with local linearization method,but also save several hours relative to Monte Carlo method.

Background: Low handgrip strength (HS) and declining gait speed (GS) are increasingly obvious with aging, requiring effective, and safe medication for treatment. Trimetazidine (TMZ) modified release tablets, a common anti-angina drug, has potential benefits for alleviating the condition, but this has not yet been fully studied and therefore is the aim of this study. Methods: This is a prospective randomized controlled study. Fifty-eight eligible patients will be randomly assigned to one of two study groups: TMZ group or control group. For the TMZ group, a dose of 35 mg of oral TMZ will be administered with a meal twice a day for 3 months, in addition to any conventional treatments for angina. Only conventional treatments for angina will be administrated in the control group. The primary outcome will be the 6-min walking distance and the secondary outcomes will be: muscle strength (HS and pinch strength), GS, muscle endurance (five times sit-to-stand test), balance maintenance (tandem standing test), and the frequency of angina per week. Additionally, body mass index, circumferences (biceps, waist, hip, and calf), albumin levels, and the score on a five-question scale for sarcopenia will be obtained during the study. Discussion: This study aims to evaluate the usefulness of TMZ in a population with poor muscle function. The results may provide an effective and safe medical treatment to people with low muscle strength or physical performance.

The heteroscedastic regression model was established and the heteroscedastic regression analysis method was presented for mixed data composed of complete data,type-Ⅰ censored data and type-Ⅱ censored data from the location-scale distribution.The best unbiased estimations of regression coefficients,as well as the confidence limits of the location parameter and scale parameter were given.furthermore,the point estimations and confidence limits of percentiles were obtained.Thus,the traditional multiple regression analysis method which is only suitable to the complete data from normal distribution can be extended to the cases of heteroscedastic mixed data and the location-scale distribution.So the presented method has a broad range of promising applications.
