In this study,pea starch was modified with maltogenicα-amylase and then its physicochemical properties,chain length distribution,and in vitro digestibility were *** analysis of the starch products resulting from the maltogenicα-amylase treatment revealed a decrease in the molecular weight,an increase in the proportion of short chains[degree of polymerization(DP)13),and a decrease in viscosity,resulting in slower *** results indicated that maltogenicα-amylase can selectively hydrolyzeα-1,4-andα-1,6-glycosides to some *** theα-1,4 linkage of starch facilitated the transfer of the non-reducing D-glucosyl residues of maltose,thereby generating anα-1,6 branch *** reaction between maltogenicα-amylase and pea starch was affected by the reaction time and enzyme *** maximum slowly digestible starch content(38.5%)was obtained by digesting samples with 60.0 ppm maltogenicα-amylase for 4.0 *** findings demonstrate that modifying pea starch using maltogenicα-amylase can generate starch products with new branching structures conducive to slow digestion.

In this paper, we study the local asymptotic behavior of the regression spline estimator in the framework of marginal semiparametric model. Similarly to zhu, fung and He (2008), we give explicit expression for the asymptotic bias of regression spline estimator for nonparametric function f. Our results also show that the asymptotic bias of the regression spline estimator does not depend on the working covariance matrix, which distinguishes the regression splines from the smoothing splines and the seemingly unrelated kernel. To understand the local bias result of the regression spline estimator, we show that the regression spline estimator can be obtained iteratively by applying the standard weighted least squares regression spline estimator to pseudo-observations. At each iteration, the bias of the estimator is unchanged and only the variance is updated.

Liver is an important organ for regulating glucose and lipid *** studies have shown that bone morphogenetic proteins(BMPs)may play important roles in regu-lating glucose and lipid *** previous studies,we demonstrated that BMP4 signif-icantly inhibits hepatic steatosis and lowers serum triglycerides,playing a protective role against the progression of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD).However,the direct impact of BMP4 on hepatic glucose metabolism is poorly ***,we investigated the regulatory roles of BMP4 in hepatic glucose *** a comprehensive analysis of the 14 types of BMPs,we found that BMP4 was one of the most potent BMPs in promoting hepatic glycogen accumulation,reducing the level of glucose in hepatocytes and effecting the expression of genes related to glucose ***,we demonstrated that BMP4 reduced the hepatic glucose lewels through the activation of mTORC2 signaling pathway in vitro and in ***,our findings strongly suggest that BMP4 may play an essential role in regulating hepatic glucose *** knowledge should aid us to understand the molecular pathogenesis of NAFLD,and may lead to the development of novel therapeutics by exploiting the inhibitory effects of BMPs on hepatic glucose and lipid metabolism.

A previous study has indicated that Krüppel-like factor 7（KLF7）, a transcription factor that stimulates Schwann cell（SC） proliferation and axonal regeneration after peripheral nerve injury, is a promising therapeutic transcription factor in nerve injury. We aimed to identify whether inhibition of micro RNA-146 b（mi R-146 b）affected SC proliferation, migration, and myelinated axon regeneration following sciatic nerve injury by regulating its direct target KLF7. SCs were transfected with mi RNA lentivirus, mi RNA inhibitor lentivirus, or KLF7 si RNA lentivirus in vitro. The expression of mi R146 b and KLF7,as well as SC proliferation and migration, were subsequently evaluated. In vivo, an acellular nerve allograft（ANA） followed by injection of GFP control vector or a lentiviral vector encoding an mi R-146 b inhibitor was used to assess the repair potential in a model of sciatic nerve gap. mi R-146 b directly targeted KLF7 by binding to the 30-UTR, suppressing KLF7. Up-regulation of mi R-146 b and KLF7 knockdown significantly reduced the proliferation and migration of SCs, whereas silencing mi R-146 b resulted in increased proliferation and migration. KLF7 protein was localized in SCs in which mi R-146 b was expressed in ***, 4 weeks after the ANA, anti-mi R-146 b increased KLF7 and its target gene nerve growth factor cascade, promoting axonal outgrowth. Closer analysis revealed improved nerve conduction and sciatic function index score, and enhanced expression of neurofilaments, P0（anti-peripheral myelin）, and myelinated axon regeneration. Our findings provide new insight into the regulation of KLF7 by mi R-146 b during peripheral nerve regeneration and suggest a potential therapeutic strategy for peripheral nerve injury.

AIM： To evaluate the multi-step pretargeting radioimmunoimaging （RII） and radioimmunotherapy （RTT） in nude mice bearing human colon carcinoma with avidin-biotin system labeled with 153^Sm. METHODS： Two- and three-step strategies for avidinbiotin system pretargeting techniques were established. In a three-step procedure, human colon carcinoma bearing nude mice were first injected with biotinylated monoclonal antibody （McAb-Bt） followed by cold avidin （Av） 48 h later and then 153^Sm-DB2 24 h thereafter; whereas the twostep procedure consisted of injection of 153^Sm-SA 48 h after pretargeting with biotinylated anti-CEA monoclonal antibody （CEA McAb-Bt）. SPECT imaging and biodistribution were performed at 4, 24, 48, or 72 h after injection of 153^Sm-labeled compounds. Five groups of nude mice subcutaneously grafted with human colon carcinoma were treated 3 d after grafting. One group received the injection with 100 μg CEA McAb-Bt followed by cold avidin （80 μg） after 2 d and 11.1 MBCl I53Sm-DB2 after 1 d. Four control groups were treated respectively with 11.1 MBq 153^Sm- CEA McAb, ii.i MBq 153^Sm-nmIgG, ii.i MBq 153^Sm-DB2, 100 μL normal saline. Toxicity was evaluated by changes of leukocyte count, and the efficacy by variation in tumor volume. Histological analyses of tumors were performed. RESULTS： The three-step procedure allowed faster blood clearance and yielded higher tumor blood ratios （5.76 at 4 h and 12.94 at 24 h） of the 153^Sm-DB2. The tumor was clearly visualized at 4 h in y-imaging after the injection of 153^Sm-DB2, while a significant accumulation of 153^Sm-SA in the tumor was observed only 24 h after the injection and tumor blood ratios at 4 and 24 h were 1.00 and 2.03, respectively, in the two-step procedure. Electron affinities (EAs) of most lanthanide elements still remain unknown due to their relatively low EA values. In the present work, the cryogenically controlled ion trap is used for accumulating atomic lutetium anion Lu^-, which makes the measurement of electron affinity of lutetium become practicable. The high-resolution photoelectron spectra of Lu^- are obtained via the slow-electron velocity-map imaging method. The electron affinity of Lu is determined to be 1926.2(50) cm^-1 or 0.23882(62) eV. In addition, two excited states of Lu^- are observed.
