Macro-micro behaviors and failure mechanism of frozen weakly cemented mudstone

Understanding the mechanical properties and multiscale failure mechanism of frozen soft rock is an important prerequisite for the construction safety of tunnels,artificially frozen ground and other infrastructure in cold *** this study,the triaxial compression test are performed on mudstone in the weakly cemented soft rock strata in the mining area of western China,and the mechanical characteristics and failure mechanism of weakly cemented mudstone are systematically investigated under the combined action of freezing and ***,the quantitative relationship between the microstructural parameters and the macroscopic strength and deformation parameters is established based on fractal ***,the failure mechanism of frozen weakly cemented mudstone is revealed on both micro- and *** results show that temperature and confining pressure significantly affects the elastic modulus and peak strength of weakly cemented *** decreasing temperature,the compressive strength increases,while the corresponding peak strain decreases *** the deformation curve,the plastic deformation stage is shortened,and the brittle fracture feature at the post-peak stage is more prominent,and the elastic modulus correspondingly increases with decreasing *** low-temperature conditions,most of the weakly cemented mudstone undergoes microscopic shear failure along the main fracture *** micro-fracture morphology characteristics of weakly cemented mudstone under different temperatures are quantified via the fractal dimension,and an approximately exponential relationship can be obtained among the fractal dimension and the temperature,compressive strength and elastic modulus.

However, the mechanism underlying the effect of HIF-1α in gliomas remains largely *** In the research, we demonstrate that HIF-lα mRNA and protein levels are elevated in glioma cells. The colony formation assays, transwell assays, and wound-healing assays showed that overexpression of HIF-1α promoted proliferation and invasion of glioma *** Overexpression of HIF-lα also increased the expression of inflammatory factors related to pyrolysis (TNF-α, IL-10, and IL-1β) and protein related to pyrolysis signal pathway (NLRP3, ASC, caspase-1, GSDMD, and GSDME).Conclusions Therefore, we speculate that HIF-1α promotes the proliferation and invasion of glial cells by regulating pyrolysis pathway. These results might provide a novel strategy and target for treatment of glioma.

This study investigated the formation mechanism of new grains due to twin–twin intersections in a coarse-grained Mg–6Al–3Sn–2Zn alloy during different strain rates of an isothermal *** results of electron backscattered diffraction investigations showed that the activated twins were primarily{1012}tension twins,and 60°boundaries formed due to twin–twin intersections under different strain *** twin variants with 60°boundaries transformed into new grains through lattice rotations at a low strain rate(0.01 s^(−1)).At a high strain rate(10 s^(−1)),the regions surrounded by subgrain boundaries through high-density dislocation arrangement and the 60°boundaries transformed into new grains via dynamic recrystallization.

SFNet:Stellar Feature Network with CWT for Stellar Spectra Recognition

Stellar spectral classification is crucial in astronomical data analysis. However, existing studies are often limited by the uneven distribution of stellar samples, posing challenges in practical applications. Even when balancing stellar categories and their numbers, there is room for improvement in classification accuracy. This study introduces a Continuous Wavelet Transform using the Super Morlet wavelet to convert stellar spectra into wavelet images. A novel neural network, the Stellar Feature Network, is proposed for classifying these images. Stellar spectra from Large Sky Area Multi-Object Fiber Spectroscopic Telescope DR9, encompassing five equal categories (B, A, F, G,K), were used. Comparative experiments validate the effectiveness of the proposed methods and network,achieving significant improvements in classification accuracy.

Purpose:Under-foot impact loadings can cause serious lower limb injuries in many activities,such asautomobile collisions and underbody explosions to military *** present study aims to comparethe biomechanical responses of the mainstream vehicle occupant dummies with the human body lowerlimb model and analyze their robustness and applicability for assessing lower limb injury risk in underfoot impact loading ***:The Hybrid III model,the test device for human occupant restraint(THOR)model,and a hybridhuman body model with the human active lower limb model were adopted for under-foot impactanalysis regarding different impact velocities and initial lower limb ***:The results show that the 2 dummy models have larger peak tibial axial force and highersensitivity to the impact velocities and initial postures than the human lower limb *** particular,the Hybrid III dummy model presented extremely larger peak tibial axial forces than the human lowerlimb *** the case of minimal difference in tibial axial force,Hybrid III's tibial axial force(7.5 KN)isstill 312.5%that of human active lower limb's(2.4 KN).Even with closer peak tibial axial force values,thebiomechanical response curve shapes of the THOR model show significant differences from the humanlower limb ***:Based on the present results,the Hybrid III dummy cannot be used to evaluate the lowerlimb injury risk in under-foot loading *** contrast,potential improvement in ankle biofidelity and related soft tissues of the THOR dummy can be implemented in the future for betterapplicability.

Photocatalytic uranium extraction from radioactive nuclear wastewater and seawater is critical for promoting the sustainable advancement of nuclear industry,but the complexity of real-world environments,particularly the occurrence of anoxic and oxygen-enriched states,presents significant challenges to effective uranium ***,a layered hollow core–shell structure of Bi_(2)O_(3)/g-C_(3)N_(4)Z-scheme heterojunction photocatalyst has been designed and successfully applied for photocatalytic uranium extraction in both aerobic and oxygen-free conditions,and the extraction efficiency of uranium can reach 98.4%and 99.0%,***,the photocatalyst still has ultra-high extraction efficiency under the influence of pH,inorganic ions,and other *** exceptional capability for uranium extraction is on the one hand due to the distinctive hollow core–shell architecture,which furnishes an abundant quantity of active *** the other hand,benefiting from the suitable band gap structure brought by the construction of Z-scheme heterojunction,Bi_(2)O_(3)/g-C_(3)N_(4)exhibits current densities(1.00μA/cm^(2))that are 5.26 and 3.85 times greater than Bi_(2)O_(3)and g-C_(3)N_(4),respectively,and the directional migration mode of Z-scheme carriers significantly prolongs the lifetime of photogenerated charges(1.53 ns),which separately surpass the pure samples by factors of 5.10 and ***,the reaction mechanism and reaction process of photocatalytic uranium extraction are investigated in the presence and absence of oxygen,respectively.

The undesirable dendrite growth induced by non-planar zinc(Zn)deposition and low Coulombic efficiency resulting from severe side reactions have been long-standing challenges for metallic Zn anodes and substantially impede the practical application of rechargeable aqueous Zn metal batteries(ZMBs).Herein,we present a strategy for achieving a high-rate and long-cycle-life Zn metal anode by patterning Zn foil surfaces and endowing a Zn-Indium(Zn-In)interface in the *** accumulation of electrons in the microchannel and the zincophilicity of the Zn-In interface promote preferential heteroepitaxial Zn deposition in the microchannel region and enhance the tolerance of the electrode at high current ***,electron aggregation accelerates the dissolution of non-(002)plane Zn atoms on the array surface,thereby directing the subsequent homoepitaxial Zn deposition on the array ***,the planar dendrite-free Zn deposition and long-term cycling stability are achieved(5,050 h at 10.0 mA cm^(−2) and 27,000 cycles at 20.0 mA cm^(−2)).furthermore,a Zn/I_(2) full cell assembled by pairing with such an anode can maintain good stability for 3,500 cycles at 5.0 C,demonstrating the application potential of the as-prepared ZnIn anode for high-performance aqueous ZMBs.

Strategies for improving crop comprehensive benefits via a decision-making system based on machine learning in the rice‒rape,rice‒wheat and rice‒garlic rotation systems in Southwest China

Rice‒rape,rice‒wheat and rice‒garlic rotations are common cropping systems in Southwest China,and they have played a significant role in ensuring ecological and economic benefits(EB)and addressing the challenges of China’s food security in the ***,the crop yields in these rotation systems are 1.25‒14.73%lower in this region than the national *** decision-making with machine learning can analyze the key factors for obtaining better benefits,but it has rarely been used to enhance the probability of obtaining such benefits from rotations in Southwest ***,we used a data-intensive approach to construct an intelligent decision‒making system with machine learning to provide strategies for improving the benefits of rice-rape,rice-wheat,and rice-garlic rotations in Southwest *** results show that raising the yield and partial fertilizer productivity(PFP)by increasing seed input under high fertilizer application provided the optimal benefits with a 10%probability in the rice-garlic *** high yields and greenhouse gas(GHG)emissions by increasing the N application and reducing the K application provided suboptimal benefits with an 8%probability in the rice-rape *** N and P to enhance PFP and yield provided optimal benefits with the lowest probability(8%)in the rice‒wheat *** on the predictive analysis of a random forest model,the optimal benefits were obtained with fertilization regimes by reducing N by 25%and increasing P and K by 8 and 74%,respectively,in the rice-garlic system,reducing N and K by 54 and by 36%,respectively,and increasing P by 38%in rice-rape system,and reducing N by 4%and increasing P and K by 65 and 23%in rice-wheat *** strategies could be further optimized by 17‒34%for different benefits,and all of these measures can improve the effectiveness of the crop rotation systems to varying ***,these findings provide insights into optimal agricultural inputs for higher be
