Ec.omycorrhizal fungi and dark septate endophyte inoculation improve growth and tolerance of Pinus tabulaeformis under cadmium stress

Forest trees can establish symbiotic associations with dark septate endophytes(DSEs)and ec.omycorrhizal fungi(EcMF)***,the combined effects of these two fungi on the growth and cadmium(cd)tolerance of host plants remain largely *** address this knowledge gap,a pot experiment was conducted to examine the effects of the interaction between an EcMF strain(Suillus granulatus)and a DSE strain(Pseudopyrenochaeta sp.)on Pinus tabulaeformis under cd stress,by assessing plant growth and physiological parameters,nutrient uptake,and soil ***,the colonization rates of both fungal strains were found to increase in response to cd stress,with the extent of this increase being influenced by the specific fungal species and the cd level in the *** to the non-inoculation treatment,single inoculation with fungal strain resulted in enhanced biomass,root development,and nutrient contents in *** seedlings under cd ***,a synergistic effect was observed when these seedlings were co-inoculated with *** and Pseudopyrenochaeta sp.,as indicated by significantly greater measurements in various indicators compared to both the single and non-inoculation *** inoculation effectively regulated the antioxidant defense responses and photosynthesis of *** seedlings subjected to cd stress,particularly in the co-inoculation *** addition,fungal inoculation facilitated the cd accumulation in ***,suggesting a promising potential for the implementation of bioremediation strategies in the areas contaminated with heavy *** findings from this study indicate that the utilization of root symbiotic fungi obtained from stress environments could potentially enhance the growth performance and tolerance of *** towards heavy metals,and co-inoculation of both fungal groups may result in even more pronounced synergistic effects on the overall fitness of the plant.

Hexavalent chromium[cr(Ⅵ)]causes serious harm to the environment due to its high toxicity,solubility,and ***(Fh)are the main adsorbent and trapping agent of cr(Ⅵ)in soils and aquifers,and they usually coexist with silicate(Si),forming Si-containing ferrihydrite(Si-Fh)***,the mechanism of cr(Ⅵ)retention by Si-Fh mixtures is poorly *** this study,the behaviors and mechanisms of cr(Ⅵ)adsorption onto Si-Fh with different Si/Fe molar ratios was *** electron mic.oscope,Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy,X-ray diffraction,X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy,and other techniques were used to characterize Si-Fh and cr(Ⅵ)-loading of *** results show that specific surface area of Si-Fh increases gradually with increasing Si/Fe ratios,but cr(Ⅵ)adsorption on Si-Fh decreases with increasing Si/Fe *** is because with an increase in Si/Fe molar ratio,the point of zero charge of Si-Fh gradually decreases and electrostatic repulsion between Si-Fh and cr(Ⅵ)***,the complexation of cr(Ⅵ)is enhanced due to the increase in adsorbed hydroxyl(A-oH-)on Si-Fh with increasing Si/Fe molar ratio,which partly counteracts the effect of the electrostatic ***,the increase in the electrostatic repulsion has a greater impact on adsorption than the additional complexation with *** functional theory calculation further supports this observation,showing the increases in electron variation of bonding atoms and reaction energies of inner spherical complexes with the increase in Si/Fe ratio.

From Liquid to Solid‑State Lithium Metal Batteries:fundamental Issues and Recent Developments

The widespread adoption of lithium-ion batteries has been driven by the proliferation of portable electronic devices and electric vehicles,which have increasingly stringent energy density *** metal batteries(LMBs),with their ultralow reduction potential and high theoretical capacity,are widely regarded as the most promising technical pathway for achieving high energy density *** this review,we provide a comprehensive overview of fundamental issues related to high reactivity and migrated interfaces in ***,we propose improved strategies involving interface engineering,3D current collec.or design,electrolyte optimization,separator modification,application of alloyed anodes,and external field regulation to address these *** utilization of solid-state electrolytes can significantly enhance the safety of LMBs and represents the only viable approach for advancing *** review also encompasses the variation in fundamental issues and design strategies for the transition from liquid to solid *** noteworthy is that the introduction of SSEs will exacerbate differences in electrochemical and mechanical properties at the interface,leading to increased interface inhomogeneity—a critical fac.or contributing to failure in all-solidstate lithium metal *** on recent research works,this perspective highlights the current status of research on developing high-performance LMBs.

We introduce notions of continuous orbit equivalence and its one-sided version for countable left ore semigroup actions on compact spaces by surjective local homeomorphisms,and characterize them in terms of the corresponding transformation groupoids and their operator *** particular,we show that two essentially free semigroup actions on totally disconnected compact spaces are continuously orbit equivalent if and only if there is a canonical abelian subalgebra preserving c^(∗)-isomorphism between the associated transformation groupoid c^(∗)-*** also give some examples of orbit equivalence,consider the special case of semigroup actions by homeomorphisms and relate continuous orbit equivalence of semigroup actions to that of the associated group actions.

Identified as the pathogenic genes of Alzheimer's disease(AD),APP,PSEN1,and PSEN2 mainly lead to early-onset AD,whose course is more aggressive,and atypical symptoms are more common than sporadic ***,a novel missense mutation,APP E674Q(also named“Shanghai APP”),was detected in a chinese index patient with typical late-onset AD(LoAD)who developed memory decline in his *** results from neuroimaging were consistent with AD,where widespread amyloidβdeposition was demonstrated in 18 F-florbetapir Positron Emission Tomography(PET).APP E674Q is c.ose to theβ-secretase cleavage site and the well-studied Swedish APP mutation(KM670/671NL),which was predicted to be pathogenic in *** dynamics simulation indicated that the E674Q mutation resulted in a rearrangement of the interaction mode between APP and BAcE1 and that the E674Q mutation was more prone to cleavage by *** in vitro results suggested that the E674Q mutation was pathogenic by facilitating the BAcE1-mediated processing of APP and the production of Aβ.furthermore,we applied an adeno-associated virus(AAV)-mediated transfer of the human E674Q mutant APP gene to the hippocampi of two-month-old c57Bl/6 J ***-E674Q-injected mice exhibited impaired learning behavior and increased pathological burden in the brain,implying that the E674Q mutation had a pathogenicity that bore a comparison with the classical Swedish ***,we report a strong amyloidogenic effect of the E674Q substitution in *** our knowledge,E674Q is the only pathogenic mutation within the amyloid processing sequence causing LoAD.

Precise targeting of specific regions within the central nervous system(cNS)is crucial for both scientific research and gene therapy in the context of brain ***-associated virus 13(AAV13)is known for its restricted diffusion range within the cNS,making it an ideal c.oice for precise labeling and administration within small brain ***,AAV13 mediates relatively low expression of target ***,we introduced specifically engineered modifications to the AAV13 capsid protein to enhance its transduction *** first constructed AAV13-YF by mutating tyrosine to phenylalanine on the surface of the AAV13 *** then inserted the 7m8 peptide,known to enhance cell transduction,into positions 587/588 and 585/586 of the AAV13 capsid,resulting in two distinct variants named AAV13-587-7m8 and AAV13-585-7m8,*** found that AAV13-YF exhibited superior in vitro infectivity in HEK293T cells compared to AAV13,while AAV13-587-7m8 and AAV13-585-7m8 showed enhanced cNS infection capabilities in c57BL/6 mice,with AAV13-587-7m8 infection retaining a limited spread *** modified AAV13 variants hold promising potential for applications in gene therapy and neuroscience research.
